I have many lore items, but all I ever see is, "Long forgotten knowledge sifts through your mind." I swap the items into my combat slots to make sure that I'm "holding" them.

to "hold" an item to identify it, it must be on your cursor when you cast the indentify spell/song.
This song can be purchased in Erudin, at the Library, from Altrusan Belstince. He is located on the right side of the first floor. Hope this helps.

What exactly does this song 'identify'? I haven't gotten it to identify anything.
There are several items that are nodrop lore and have the same name (quarter of diaku medallions (4 total identify as top right left bottem right left etc) there are broken seals in ssra, various heads you can loot.. so basically if you have a quest item and your not exactly sure of its history or purpse identify is your first step to finding out what it is.
