better healng spell ?
# May 08 2008 at 11:35 PM Rating: Decent
To tell you the truth this is one of the best healing spells every made for EQ. My main level 80 cleric 1k aa still uses this spell ritually. The mana cost is low the spell crit ratio is hi recast is quick and cast time is very fast... No all i can tell you is with my cleric i am casting this spell in about 2.3 secs with rk 2 spell haste. That is very efficient healing imo. still yet to see a better spell that heals with this much proficiency, not to mention my average crit is around 16.6k with this one as of recent patch think before that was around 19k.

Or you can do what i did and buy it for 20k in the Bazaar. Lots of people may be against that but, lots of people are still wanting the spell too. Tenacity is only a few lvls away i know, but its always going to be a spell i will use every so often.

8 - Word of Vivification
9 - Elixir of Redemption Rk. II

I bot my Cleric, so I can usually rely on those playing Cleric mains in the raid to shoot off Remedies when needed; I rarely use it myself, because of the hp/mana ratio on it. I'm usually in the CH rotation (if there is one) because I've got a great hotkey layout, and can keep the rotation going even as I'm buffing/debuffing/nuking/DoT'ing with my Enchanter.

Word of Vivification is a mana-hog; but when you're facing OMM / AMV / Zi-Thuuli and they've just fired off that timed DT, a spell that heals/cures your whole group is much more valuable than one that group heals for 10k...and lands after the DT has gone off and killed everyone, anyway.

ALL my spell lineups (except my raid one) leave slots 1-3 blank. DI/DA/DB/DC take so darn long to charge, I don't want to accidentally reset them when loading buff lines. If I need to change one out, I do it by hand.

But that's just me.

Post your spel lwehre yea want its up to you.

1 DB This is the 800 self heal one .. its a cheap and gives time for tank
reatain aggro if you group heal etc.

2 DI I DI as many sob's including self for high end named till they pull it
I like to DI the off tanks and kiters.... nothing worse than a
kiter dying and adds on the caster/healers.

3 y7 if mounted I add DB instead a dead cleric cant heal if BDA
is up this is POV.

4 elixer diviniy Group 900 a tic hot ..awesome .. POR skins quest or alt
quest .. get this ****
5 PL (Soon to be APL) when the fast heeal cant keep up

6 CH always have hide it in the middle its a bad spell to click when you need
a fast heal

7 Group heal Word of replentishment (more mana consreve than Vindication)

8 PE single cast 1150 hot

9 PR Fast heal baby!

put them where you want and for waht reasons you want. I never haeva buff loaded except vie that I recast during fights casue the slacker who waits til lwhen engaging a named dosent seserve the buff... if a tank is resed during heat of battle then remem stuff if you dare.

This entire post is stupid...except for the part on posting what spell linups some raiding clerics use...
I use:
1. Yalup
2. Panoply of Vie (cast on tank when GoM kicks in)
3. Pious Light (Getting Hallowed is on my list)
4. Cheal
5. Word of Viv.
6. Elixer (Not used much except on self when there's a nasty dot in encounter)
7. DI
8. DA
9. DB

My macros are my spells down to DI- then 8 is assist and 9 is target ~ so that I can target the tagger, assist to mob then once a tank picks it up I can be the first to heal him :S

raid set up
1> db
2> used for buffs..WoV usually loaded...grp bali for mgb's etc
3> DI
4> pious remedy or hallowed light
5> cheal
6> aura of the pious..switch out slot also like #2
7> yaulp 7
8> grp heal word of replenishment..vivification too much a mana hog
9> pious light

group set up
1> DB
2> blameless....conviction or switch out slot for buffs
3> nuke
4> hallowed light
5> cheal
6> aura of the pious/root
7> yaulp 7 or if on horse this becomes my buffs slot
8> grp heal
9> pious light

my guild is in anguish and we spam all the mobs. tacvi id say we cheal rot 4 mobs with odd spams tossed in.
i have 10k mana and have no problem with mana on spam fights. i use 70 armour of the pious, c6 ,sa and clicky 8 mana/tick MMM, FT is 18...23 soon (next on my list of AA)

one question i have looking at other clerics spell line ups is why do you mem DB and DA? i dont even often use DB in raids..it gets tossed if i need extra spot for RGC or what have you ..only time i ever use DB is in a group where i get heal agro from a mob add the odd time. or if im late for tacvi raid and have to do the run! heh

For the record - as far as I know ALL Guilds on Bristlebane that I know of still use Cheal Rotations for as many mobs as they can. While not time efficient, they are mana/aggro efficient when you have the clerics for them. Fast heals have their use, and many mobs REQUIRE fast heals to achieve. Just depends.. and SoE has put many more mobs that require fast heals in the game, to help 'balance' the use out of Cheal.

Because someone asked: Spell Line up for raids is:

1) DB
2) DA
3) Yaulp 7 (When mounted Bali)
4) Divine Intervention
5) Group Heal (WoVivication atm)
6) PE
7) PR
8) PL
9) CH

I realize you all have your spell books with Cheal in spell gem one... but this is a funny story, so I'll share for the laugh of it.

When I started EQ I didn't start because I had a 'friend' who played.. I started and didn't know anyone to 'teach me' any tricks. So my Cheal went into my 8th (until I got my 9th) spell slot because it was EASIER to put my mouse on it to heal. I didn't know about ALT 1-9 and I finally learned about hotkeys about 35th level. Until then I did EVERYTHING with point and click LOL It was a challenge!

So with that, I thought, I have played the game for over half the lvls (when I started it was 65 max), I'm not gonna 'change' where I know my heals are.. and never did. Hope you enjoyed the story! LOL I still laugh about it to this day, and it's even funnier now that I see NONE of you have cheal in 9 ;)

Complete Heal is not always an option. The healing range on it is limited. This spell takes its place due to longer range and the rotation is same as complete heal. The range is sometimes needed to avoid mana drain AE by some boss mobs. The elimination of all your mana makes complete heal pointless if the boss has a mana drain proc. I mean literally you lose 10k mana in less than 10 seconds. The range spells over 200, such as this can be for 10k to 12k heals if you have enough aa and focus.

You get this spell by looting "ancient muramite rune">"https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31067" from raid mobs in anguish, or the king and queen in riftseekers.

P.S. the anguish BP reduces the amount of mana consumed casting this spell by 25%. and increase's healing by 50% /cheer

i use ch all the time still, only cause the tanks in my guild are freakin uber and have hp up da ying yang.i use my mark of the blameless on mob panopoly on my tanks and hot to start the heals on the tanks which gives me an extra few secs to check everyone else.i use pious and remedy when i need the fast heal, and always have one or 2 group heals in the gem slots.

/shrug i don't know that much about end OoW but i play a cleric... certain mobs require spam heals... that and groups are imo the only reason they are in game... you guys think that chain isn't that good against high end mobs? fatbass... not to pick on you but i'm simply asking you... have you ever played a cleric? ya clerics need to be flexible and crap like that but CH chain can last almost an unlimited time... i can chain heal for 10 minutes and be at about 75 mana and i have a crappy mana pool... 4 cleric's in chain 3 second delay on chain ( thats min you should be using imo ) that would be a min of 7.5k hp landing on the tank alot lol... now personally i only heal CH for 9.1k but most clerics in my guild CH for like 9.5 or so i think... so per CH rotation ( lets say everyone has no aa's or anything ) with a 4 mana chain thats gonna be 7.5k times 4... thats like 31k or whatever... + you get clerics also patch healing your tanks as safty... you can argue that with aa's hallowed light will heal for like 7k... while guess what... it works both ways... with aa's CH will hit for about 10k for ALOT less mana... so i mean really its WAY better for longer fights to use CH rot... but if your guild does anouther way and can still win the battle... great :) everyone plays their own raid and uses different styles...

Actually, my ch lands for 19200 on crit... and yes, we even cheal in anguish, while clearing to nameds and aug droppers... cheal = way less agro, and with an on the ball cleric who's not playing like a cheal bot /duck works well if you think your heal is going to be too late. Divine arbitration, epic shields, or a high fast hallowed light to the needy party and back to ching on tanks.

We use a 3 cleric chain on some fights, including one major named in Anguish. Why four would be some magic number, is beyond me. What it comes down to is, length of the fight, mana pool and regen of the clerics, and DPS output of the mob.

CH rotations ARE valuable. The are needed for some fights. They also are NOT needed, or even practical, on other fights.

CH has its place, but this spell is killer, with out a doubt
# May 05 2005 at 12:24 AM Rating: Default
the thing your over looking here is youll end up casting this 100X more then youll ever cast CH, in Anguish there are many many mobs to clear as you make your way around the zone, you dont CH the tank doing that. my guild spams at least 1/2 of the encounters in Tacvi. and with some of the raids in DoN having you run around, ther no way to CHO there ether. same with the MPG trials you spam most of them also. CHOs have there place, but that place is getting spares. its clear that soe it trying to get away from that stile if gameing.
on a side note, with AA and the BP that drops in anguish this spell can heal 7000 and take 580 mana!!
that is a killer deal!!
with spell hast you will be able to sact this in about 2.7 seconds.

After reading all of these posts, I'm absolutely boggled. Do you really think that you can spam a 775 mana heal and hope to kill anything? Sure in an experience group, having a 14k+ crit heal land on a tank is very helpful. But, when you're killing a raid mob, you can't depend on it landing for 14k+ everytime, and a 4k-5k heal base (including focii) is the same as a pious remedy crit. High end mobs drop ancient runes.. Anguish mobs.. drop ancient runes. Guilds that use remedy/light rotations die. It just doesn't work. I have 9300 mana with Clairvoyance, and if I spam this heal, I'll be oom in less than two minutes. The Jelvan event in Anguish takes about 45 (resepectfully) minutes to complete correctly. Ture, maybe a 5-8 minute fight. Keldovan, maybe 10 minutes. So unless your clerics have 14k mana (which they don't) or unless you have 10 rogues that are capable of consistant 650-900 dps, you have absolutely no option of using this to replace a CH Rotation.

Granted, 14k crits from AHL can take some folks from 1% hp to 100% hp. Not warriors in my guild. With healing focus, CH lands for a minimum of 9500 (give or take 50). A guaranteed almost 10,000 hp heal, with a chance to hit for 19,200 for 375 less mana.

You tell me what mob you can kill that has this in their loot table, that REQUIRES FFA healing over a CH rotation.

Because I have killed all but two of them (arch magus and omm), and in no way, shape or form, could it have been done without a CH rotation.

* King Gelaqua [dead with ch rot]
* Queen Pyrilonis [dead with ch rot]
* Battlemaster Rhorious [dead with ch rot]
* Keldovan the Harrier [dead with ch rot]
* Ture [dead with ch rot]
* Warden Hanvar [dead with ch rot]

you do the math.. it's a patch heal, just like the rest of the light line. it's a quick shot at a big heal. it since has replaced my pious light spell slot, and i like it. /shrug

fyi:~ my spell line up (just because i'm always curious as to what other clerics use as a line up)
1) complete heal
2) sound of divinity (stun up to 70)
3) ancient light
4) word of vivification
5) da
6) db
7) pious remedy
8) divine intervention
9) reproach

alt 2. Pious Light
3. sit
4. complete heal
5. Group Heal
6. Convictiion
7. Symbol / Yaulp VII / ...
8. Divine Intervention
9. Divine Berrier

for yaulp I will switch this out with Aura or pet or DD or cure. Sybmol and CV are asked too often while on the raid and sometimes during a fight when if you do sit to mem the spell you agro mobs.

Also you can cast this spell 2 times in the time it takes to cast 1 CH for about the same HP being healed but your spending 4 times the mana.

# Jan 12 2005 at 6:10 AM Rating: Decent
CH Chains will always be whats used on the high end mobs. It works and because of the HP/Mana ratio Clerics will have mana for those long fights. Chain Healing this spell would drain your mana pool too fast. It is a nice addition to our spell books. What works in the new OoW higher zones is the Cleric Chain healing CH and someone else in the group spamming when tank reaches low health. These newer high end zones are requiring more then one healer in the group as it seems. You can try casting just this spell but there will be alot of downtime medding afterwards.
RE: duh
# Feb 11 2005 at 2:01 AM Rating: Default
Actually CH Chains have already been replaced in end game mobs.(End of GoD/OoW)Mobs hit way too fast and hard to be using CH chains anymore. These fights tend to be shorter then the older content also, which is why Mana Pool is more important then mana regen now.
RE: duh
# Mar 03 2005 at 2:50 AM Rating: Decent
been on sevral oow and GoD raids and i have yet to see one that would be done with out useing a CH line. If you have the right amount of clerics you can have CH's landing on the main tank every 2 sec's. with most clerics being able to keep this up for sevral minets. quick heals = no mana in a long fight, wich in turn means wipe. very useful spell in groups , but in a raid its only useful if you are a back up healer.

well, you could argue that. But CH chains are still in the game, mostly because that CH chain takes a lot less mana than chaining Supernal/Holy/Pious/Hallowed Light.

I agree with Syanu, any mob that you kill that will drop an Ancient Rune will certainly not be in an way a CH chainable mob, it's gonna be straight up fast heals, you have to remember, this isn't PoP anymore, things change and we clerics have to be flexible. I have been using Pious Light for sometime now and don't use CH all that often unless the tank is real good and may have just too many HPs to rely on crit heals. That or I just got myself LOM from the puller having two named in camp without a mez (I had that happen once, WoS, the camp where you get like 5 named, and the puller brings two NAMED, was a ***** healing, but with the warrior using defensive and about all the rest of his DISCs I managed to keep everyone, including myself alive, and what did I get for a reward, some damn Magician drop and a Minor rune, ***** SoE and their nerfs!!!!!!!!!)

WoS and Raids are two different things. If you have a tight CH chain (i.e., a CH is landing almost every second) that is going to be WAY better than spam healing your large heals! Now, for some mobs that is the only way, cuz you don't want to be in range of an AE effect. But nothing will top the mana to hp ration of a CH, and CH chain!
RE: OMG
# Jan 13 2005 at 1:20 PM Rating: Decent
Of course not sir, but by the time the mob is dead, mana for light's and remedies won't be a prob, hopefully if your raid is good enough, they will drop the mob fast. Plus, at that level of raiding, I would hope your clerics have 7k to 10k mana pool, CH chains = no way, no how!
RE: OMG
# Feb 16 2005 at 6:45 PM Rating: Default
look that is good and all for light god mobs and oow mobs low end but high end a ch chain is still used if you got a constant landing ch chain you wont need to worry about need fast heals. the ch rot will land fast enough to cover how is spamming fast heals any better and than spamming ch basically. if you have a chain with enough clerics all going right after another how is it any slower it is still landing one after the other and that fact remains that if in some ungodly event that the tank takes a massive shot between being full and the next CH it is basically healed instantly due to the fact that the ch is constantly landing in the rotation. you can toss a HOT right and begining and start CH ROT right before pull and the tank should not drop. if for some reason you are worried about the tank getting enough aggroe you can have the tank run in use disc in the begining to get good aggroe until the rot is fully goiing strong ( though the rot should not be that damn difficult if you are in a high end raiding guild ) now is it possible to spam quite a bit of the mobs yeah if you are just trying to throw mana down the drain and also have plenty of extra clerics around. personally i would rather have a real solid CH rot and the rest the clerics healing the groups so that any other priest class such as druids or shammies can do DPS slows kiting etc. tying up that many clerics using only spam on high end mobs is a waste.
