i was looking at this after seeing in my bank, and thought: Gelidran Aura...Gelidran...RSS....Faction? so maybe it can raise faction with gelidrans in RSS, im going to check to see if im right

I just got it today and i have not noticed an increase in my damage shield. The stats or nice for the 28 mage i have it on but it doesnt seem to do anything else. Maybe i am missing something....:(

It appears to enhance the damage of a damage shield you may have on your toon, inconsistent in the amount of enhancement from hit to hit though. A druid friend was using it and damage shield was increased fron just a coule points to more than doubled fron hit to hit.
I still don't get it. I've read about mana benefit, skill building benefit... And I've run around with dandruff blowing behind me but I still have not found a benefit to this effect? Anyone else? I would really like to know. Or I'm going back to carrying my Sun Chalice.
Even if in the end there is no actual stat-enhancing effect from this, at the very least it is a mana free way to work up skill in what is usually the last school of magic to get any consideration. I have grouped with many an end-game level caster that still manages to fizzle when trying to cast a high level divination school spell. This little trinket is a fine way to get that pesky school mastered during downtimes once and for all...
Oh, and it can never hurt to have another free means of filling "junk-buff" slots prior to fights with magic-cancelling mobs =)

Just got this today, cast time is 3.0 not instant. Haven't seen the benefit myself either.... going to try walking up on some ice giants at Permafrost entrance. =[
