This spell can be researched by combining Quill of the Dread Lord, Ink of Prexus, Ink of the Eagle, Ink of Pain, Runic Vellum, Invigorating Thickener, and Ink Additive of the Nameless in a Spell Research Kit. Trivial is 396.

If you're wearing a fabled fungi at this point in your sk's career you better just give it up... First off, it's horrible ac, secondly, regen isn't a big issue as at this point you should easily have np w/ sk lich spells draining your health. Honestly, if you're thinking you need a fungi to cover the loss of hp's from these spells you've either lost it or your toon is too low of a lvl to understand. At 70 my sks regens stood at 45hp and 15mana, both capped otherwise i would have 58/36 w/o any sort of regen spells. Also, casual player, not a raider.

Number 3, and to all those ******** below. Try to keep up with your 66+ spells without crack using pact of hate. Not gonna work. You should be outregenning the hp loss. If you're not, you're lifetap procs will more than suffice. And why get it? It's right before Dread Gaze. You are not complete till you have that.

The necromancer equivalent line of spells is awesome for an iksar necro. I play a lvl 56 one and I love the line. But the SK equivalent stinks. We have to sacrifice more health to get the same amount of mana. This doesn't make much sense to me--necros spend most of their time sitting on their butts meditating, and getting a better hp regeneration, while Sk's not only are standing up most of the time--but they're the gimps of the group getting pummelled constantly.

Necros: lvl 34=.5; lvl 49=.625; lvl 56=.646; lvl 60=.660 or .698; lvl 65=.8; lvl 70=.764

Shadow Knights: lvl 58=.375; lvl 64=.469; lvl 69=.459

The decimals represent how much mana per hitpoint is received.

Enchanter buffs: lvl 60 (KEI) gives 14 mana per tick; lvl 63 (Tranquility) 16; lvl 65 (Voice of Quellious) 18; and lvl 68 (Clairivoyance) 20.

Beast Master Buffs: lvl 44 3 mana/hp; lvl 52 5 mana/hp; lvl 59 7 mana/hp; lvl 64 9 mana/hp; and lvl 69 10 mana/hp.


When you look at the Beasty line of buffs (it gives BOTH hp and mana!) you really see how Shadow Knights get the shaft in this respect. If this line stacked with kei, then it would be useful. You could cast leech spells to compensate for the hp loss. But I bet that the extra 3 mana per tick over kei via this "uber" lvl 69 buff would be far less noticeable than the 37 per tick dot. Yeesh. Nevermind if you're grouping with an enchanter and can get some of the nicer (if slightly less in duration) mana buffs that they have to offer.

On the other hand, I really like the mana proc line that we have (I use mental corruption quite a bit).

I don't think our lich spells should be as good as a necro's near our level but it would be nice if at 70 my lich was as good as that level 49 necro's. If the hp/mana isn't an upgrade over our old spell it would be nice if if was an improvement in speed of regen.
At 49 necros get 32/20, at 70 is it overpowering for a SK to have say 40/24?

Stop whining about the spells we get... Dude, we ARE NOT a necro. We are part necro, yes, but in no way, shape, or form do i believe that we should have spells equivilent to a necro. Think about it, we have WAY more hps than a necro, and less mana. Therefore, the lich spells are probably just as efficient, not to mention we have our lifetap/mana procs that necros dont. Im sick of seeing all these posts about people ******** about how some class gets shafted with new spells. How about they just take away all your spells, then you could just be a half-assed warrior?

Lucy is not always actually correct. My SK is a dark elf with innate regen 3, putting his standing regen as 10 per tick at level 65. With Pact of Hate running I lose 15 per tick standing. Sitting I regen 12 per tick normally and lose 13 per tick with Pact of Hate as well, which would put the cost at 25 per tick as opposed to the 32 listed for the spell, which makes a huge difference over time. My guess is that this one is improperly listed as well.

But if i look at your name and signature.
I gues i cant realy expect much more from some1 with your brains.

Anyway...this spell might not be THAT big an upgrade. but i think overall sk's cant realy complain about there oow upgrades.
Lotsof classes that are way WORSE off.

this spell may be only slighty better than our last Lich-type spell, but as a SK I have never had a problem with HP loss using these spells. SKs have much more HP than a typical Necro. Add in some AA regen, some armor with regen, and the fact that I am an Iksar, and I have yet to see any kind of real HP loss using these spells, even standing. Besides, if that ever becomes a problem, thats why we should all have some sort of lifetap memmed at all times.

You gotta learn to ride the roller coaster....SKs (all classes too) over the years have had their ups and downs. Pally's do have good aggro, but they can't pull worth ****.

Learn to pull, SKs can be really good at that.

It's early ofcourse, but I hope this isn't correct. Why get this if you have pact of hate heh. Looks almost identical if not actually identical.
