Velious, GoD, and OoW all have their own ancients.

The lvl 60 ancients are from Vulak'Aer ring in ToV or Vex Thal,
The lvl 65 ones are from raid targets in higher GoD.
The lvl 70 ones are from raids in OoW, mostly Anguish.

I think our AA stun (with the extra AA's to shorten the recast time down to 9 sec) which uses no mana, has no cast time, and works on mobs up to level 68, AND has a decent knockback component makes this ANCIENT spell weak...for an Ancient spell anyway. Being an ancient spell, it's rare, and so should be a better stun than being lvl 65 limited.

imo it should work on mobs level 70 and below, or else should be able to be purchased from a vendor considering it's rarity.

PS: Those who advocate chain stunning in xp groups once your in the elemental planes, in Time or in KodTaz and beyond, I find that while chain casting, I do little damage (with Vanazir and 460 AA's). This is not surprising since your casting all the time, but experience has shown if you want fast xp just about everyone needs to be doing decent damage hehe. I mean Clerics are casting DD's and kicking *** as they're healing, so chain stunning in xp situations... just say no =)

From the zones and difficulty it is to get this spell it kinda blows being 65 limited.. considering 85% of the mobs there are yellow+ and none of our stuns work...

Ruhr Steelbreaker already has two that works on mobs level 65 (most times) One that works almost always - this would be SUPER!!!

God anyone that says stuns are no good has a fart stuck in his brain.

Even the KB-stuns (keep a very powerful one loaded - are important - I use one to get mob the hell away from the casters if they are on top of one of my group and pounding the hell outa him/her. And even if it won't stick I get aggro cause the damage still inflicts.

(The mob is immune to the stun portion of this spell) BUT the damage is still done and the mob sure as hell don't like that or the kickback.

Look, I don't even have this spell and I know the importance of stuns!!! I use them everywhere I grind. Many many uses. You can pull with them, intterupt with them, my god you can hold aggro with them! I'm convinced that if you harbor bad feelings towards the stuns, you are a crappy player and I don't ever want to group with you. But at the same time, I don't like grouping with other paladins either! They get mad when i pull, and hold aggro better then them!

get ALL of your stuns!

Very true...i generally keep up 4 stuns as a lvl 65 pal...i have a good stun that will land for anything up to lvl 65 (froce of akilae, sorry bout spelling) cause it has no knock back so noone gets mad, the other three are my lowest lvl stuns. even though it is much debated, i still feel that resists get more agro than normal landing stuns...only reason i want a stun to land is for it to interrupt a spell, ie: gate or CH, other than that my low lvl stuns and awesome agro control has made me a very well known and sought after tank on my server..at least for being still lvl 65...which will be changing soon, got a few more aa's to go. oh yeah the low lvl stuns also use a LOT, i mean a LOT less mana

hope that helps anyone concerned about agro conrtol, cause i NEVER lose it, unless a enc chain mezzes or a wiz chain nukes the whole fight...but theyd have to have a death wish

spell line up that works well for me in MOST cases not all, 1. group heal 2. highest lvl stun i have that doesnt knockback 3-5. all low lvl stuns (lower the better so they dont have spell damage and i can cast stun 5 times before waking from mez) 6. yaulp (a must have) 7. heal over time and 8. quick heal for those "dast now or die moments"

I would almost argue at 70 that Cease is still one of my most cast spells. Get the Inc call, /assist. cast cease to grab aggro and then launch into the appropriate melee routine. Just spent 5m and unless you are competing with slows etc you got aggro.

being that it is ancient it no doubt will be deep in to god progression before you see one drop and it will probably be some sort od ancient rune etc that all classes can use.

Anyone who says another stun spell is useless has to be a moron. As a 65th Paladin, the uses of stuns in XP groups are immeasurable. When in BoT, pulling the healers/gaters stuns become invaluable. At 35% when a mob starts to cast a CH, you hit FoA = no CH. Now in a good group, once you've interrupted the CH, next comes the gate, soon as spells refresh so you can cast again next comes QWoS = No Gate, 108 damage and small knockback. Even if the stun doesn't connect the knockback interrupts casting. Now by the time you've hit FoA and QWoS, you're left vulnerable for a short time where the mob can get in a quick gate or CH. With this spell, that no longer happens, use the ancient first, follow with QWoS and then hit FoA, by the time all three are done casting first one is available for recast. Don't forget Divine Stun which is invaluable in both raids and xp groups because it is insta-cast and (supposedly) works up to 68 mobs.
Also, any of you who don't know Cease = Insane aggro. Pull with Cease and add two hits and a couple of 2hs hits, you won't lose aggro even if you had a necro dotting, a shammy slowing, a druid dotting, a cleric healing and wizard critical nuking for 6k all in the same group.
Oh, and for those of you who don't know it either, if cease doesn't work, Flash of Light is even more insane aggro, don't use it to pull though, as the mob will run around blindly and aggro other mobs.
Anyway, more stuns = awesome idea, no matter the similarity to a lesser leveled spell. I give the other GoD paly spells thumbs down, but to this one, two thumbs up!

I agree with you folks whole-heartedly. Any pally worth his wait has a chain stun setup to interrupt casting, healing or gating and can hold aggro against anyone.

As an aside, the only thing I didn't see this pally mention is that a good pally knows when to use his stuns while not MA...use them judiciously and the other fighter holds aggro but you can still interrupt spell casting at will and, if necessary push the mob around to safer territory.

Aye, I will agree with you on that, too. You can use Quellious spells to knock them around. Many pallies don't even realize that you only need face the direction you want the mob to go when you hit them with the stun and they go that way. So for example, if they are about to fall off of the edge into the lava, like in SolRo, and you want them to get bonked back right fast, just pop them one with a Quellious stun, Tranq or Serenity, and they move back.

Also, even when not MA, you can definitley keep your eye's peeled for them casting Gates or CHeals if need be, and during many fights, a good pally will throw a stun on a mob here and there for the hell of it to drop mob's DPS on the MA down for a bit. If you stun a mob when he is at 45 percent or so, you can often times remove all damage there after on the MA. Stuns are powerful, and folks that do not know how to use them shouldn't snap too much. I would say just start a Pally to see how they work, or just ask someone that knows (preferably a VT, SolRo or higher pally). :)

the point is even though this stun might not be useless it really sucks as an ancient spell- they are so hard to get it is definatly not worth the time considering we can level up to 70 now

You guys are nutz? hosed? this spell is amazing either you dont use FoA enough or you dont have the mana regen to apreciate when an extra 4secs not being hit by a reg xp mob means to your dmg mitigation when you chain cast stuns! It is almost exactly the same except you can chain this in so instead of only having one no knock back low casting cost stun for 4secs we get 2 and can chain cast them with impunity greatly mitigating damge to us and keeping an insane agro lock (not that thats a problem). I agree the other 2 spells the 65 ones look a little lack luster but having an extra stun similar or not is an amazing boost in our utility as an xp tank...

PVP or duel this stun will help out also cause of the resist check its literally impossiable to land a stun on anyone that has more than 150 since lvl 65 came about ... just a couple extra copper of a thought.

This spell is amazing... If anyone knows anything about paladins in xp grps or LDON we live and die by our stuns... This stun is fast good recast time almost exactly like the other 62 stun easily gotten and with 2 at our dispposel a paladin with this spell would hardly get hit at all chain stunning this and his other stun... But the big draw back is notice this spells name starts with Ancient... All the ancient spells i know of are super rare spells that are hard to get and very very few people own... Maybe this spell will be an exception but knowing SOE i doubt it I want this spell bad when GoD comes out im gonna try to get it asap before its changed or taken out because i feel it will be godly for normal xp mobs to beable to chain another 4sec/65 stun .... But watch out based on the Ancient in the name i am feeling this spell will be hard as hell to obtain...

It's apparently a GoD spell, but not in any list I've seen. As far as I know, these are our ONLY new GoD spells, but who knows for sure....
