I had already acquired the Gnarled Wood and Elaborate Hinge, all I needed was the Blacksmithing skill. I ran over to Abysmal and got my skill up to 109 before I lost patience. I will never be a Grandmaster skiller... :-P
I combined the Insert, hinge and wood in the forge with the little skill I had and no geerlok. It worked! And I got a message that I could no longer advance my skill with the combine. The trivial is way lower than Alla lists.

Just complete the Glowing Box of Protection today. Don't know if it is a No Fail combine. Received "You can no longer gain skill from this combine" message. Smithing skill around 155 and geerlok which pushed skill to near 170.
I know a geerlok only adds +5 to tradeskill but for one reason or another I was getting more at the time. DoDh recently came online and SOE has been patching it daily, so whatever.

Is this combine a no fail? I have read conflicting posts on various forums.
