I have not been able to find the forge that is used for the DoN Cultural Armor. I have done the quests for patterns and journeyman level symbols, but can't find the forge to do the combines in.

thanks

Adding: the Cultural Forge is only needed for the armor. The Augments can be made in any forge.

In the building across from the bank. There are two forges on the main floor. The one straight in from the door is the regular forge. The one to the right is the High Elf Cultural Forge. You can now do regular combines in the High Elf forge, if you are a High Elf too.

i have a high elf pal (lvl57). i suggest that you don't make a high elf pally, try human or dwarf one.
it is hard to fight with a high elf pally because the are generally weak in STR+HP.

I would greatly like high elves if it wasn't for one thing. can u guess from my subject. IF you go in to the game lore on this site read the story about the founding of the gnome civilization. the elves did some thing when giving them their land:
1. Gave the gnomes land with a plauge dragon on it.
2. made little tiny gnomes run to proboly the farthest city with short legs

I play two High Elves, Sianu the Wizardess (current level 40) and Miriame the lady Paladin (current level 15). The High Elf stats aren't the best choice for either but they are happy characters. I considered making Sianu an Erudite but thought she would be too cut off. In the end High Elf seemed more sociable and it was the right choice. Miriame exists to be sweet, serious little Miri, Sianu's sister. A dwarf wouldn't fit the story. I chose playing fun over xp advantages, and I don't regret it at all. Nor does my guild... who have given Sianu so many items that HIE was indeed the best choice.

A Noble Dignified Race
# Oct 30 2004 at 5:12 AM Rating: Decent
Heck lets face it, the main reason most people choose a race is usually not for the starting stats, its usually what race they think they'll have the most fun playing. Its how does this char look? Is he tall or short? Good or Evil? I chose high elf cause they seem to have an air of nobility about them that I dont see in any of the other races. A High Elf Caster. Thats it for me. Yes Erudites have better caster stats. And yes gnomes have advantages that Elves dont have. But I dont give a dam, I like High Elves for casters, and thats why I've played my main 66 Mage 10 times more than any other char i've made.

Why Did I
# Jun 30 2004 at 6:23 AM Rating: Default
I go on most forums and all I see is bashing of other races. There is no difference in race pick like it or not. Well this excludes, Ogre who are unbashable all game from the front, and the Iksar who will always have that AC bonus. The main reason I chose a High Elf paladin is because paladin's area very fun class to play. With the proper gear on I found myself having every stat over 120 by level 5(twink). I didn't massively twink him out because paladins can do the skyshrine armor quest which yields very good gear regardless. I liek amror look too, but why I chose the high elf is because they had the lowest strength and stamina of all the classes and I just wanted to deck a elf out.

Why waste your time with race bashing? Would you do it in real life? If no then why in game? If yes then you are ignorant and should be ignored anyway.

Making a High Elf you have already chosen the best caster pally, not only due to their Wisdom but to their Charisma too.
As for spells fizzling thats all part of it, getting your skills up in the casting field and your WIS and INT being increased will see alot less fizzle.
The main casting you need to remember as a pally are your stuns, the first two (cease and desist which you get from Shadow Haven at level 9 and 15). This will enable you to get agro just as good as an SK if done properly. At 22 you get stun and can then start Chain stunning by memming the three stuns and hotkeying them. i have Taunt on 8, Stuns on 7,6,5 and a further, you'll get later on 4, then i have group heal on 3 and incoming message on 2. As you go up in levels you'll find stuns burn very little mana and all the casters will love you for it.
Mana will always be less then the other healers as Clerics, Druids and Shaman have Wisdom as their priority. However group heals are really apreciated by the cleric and Pallies are second to only clerics in that field and it's the real mana burner.
However you are now at the level where if lucky you'll team with Chanters and you mana will feel a hell of alot better. This post is over a month after yours so i'm sure your at the Unrest stage or just passed it. Here I can give you a tip, start LDoNing firstly get a Death Emracers breastplate from Mistmore LDoN it will seem far of but as you go up in LDoN you'll get alot more points I recieved 42 for my last one. The BP only has 40ac however it has three Aug slots including a number 3, save that slot for the better augs from the merchants. After you get this head for NRO LDoNs if you can get them, by the time you hit 55 you'll be wanting the best spell LDoN has given us till 65. It's called Austerity and identical to temp except that in can only be cast on 45+ and lasts 1 hour.
As far as making money goes they haven't given the pally a great deal to help. What I can tell you is that unless you make an Enchanter Alt or have an understanding Ench in you guild Jewellery Craft is the wrong option, very expensive skill and you'll get squat for unchanted items. I found the most profitable skill and cheapest to get was Brewing. It's not just drink it's tempers and with out them smithing is useless, the high level smithers will pay over the odds for tempers and its a nice little earner.
However to be honest farming Goblins in BB is still the best and unrest for FS weapons. In chosing a pally as they'll all tell you here you've chosen a hard, but uberly fun and rewarding charcter. You'll hate the 40's adore the 50's just stick with it and all the best to you, Goodluck to all fellow knights.

well see a wiz at ur level would like to base all his stats in intel cause ur an intel base caster, u can solo by urself but you would like to have someone watching ur back, i dont recall wiz gets a pet , u can nuke harder if u keep urself in ur beneficial stats, i think intel gives u ur mana but i play a wis base char so i can tell yah not a lot of things.

Could I get any sugestions on how to play this pally and whether or not I should keep my level 40 dwarf.

Without doubt the two best pallies are High Elf and Dwarf at early stages. Dwarf for Melee pally, High Elf for caster. The good thing about the High Elf pally is that you'll be looking to increase your STR and STA more then Wis and Cha (for lulls). As the High Elf starts High in both and STR items are so easy to come across i chose the High elf pally and made a dwarf one later.
However in the long run Race means nothing and Items, AAXP and simply the player makes a good character.

Dwarves get brellium/Underfoot armor which is practically identical to the full mithril.

As to which to play, Try them both, play the one you like best.

Stats?
# May 30 2003 at 12:16 AM Rating: Good
Ok, I want to know what to put bonus points into for a high elf pally. I have a 22 dwarf pally, but I figure I could remake because high elves have better casting and skill rate than dwarves, and melee stats are fairly easy to raise. Any pointers? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am Fendayen Faydefender. I have a High Elf Paladin so I know what points o put in. I, peersonally, put 10 in stregnth and 15 in stamina. Another Alternative would be 10 in stregnth, 10 in stamina, and 10 in dexterity. I prefer the 1st option though.

Let me tell you about an idea i had one day. I was running through Grater faydark and i had accedently attacked a nexus at the wizzy spires. Needless to say that i was killed Instantly. I was extreamly mad because i lost my exp. Through my hatered i studied the creature and i devised the most extravagant scheme ever. I was wondering if my fellow Citizens of norrath would aid me. Darkies and Lighties come together in a mass horde to take one down. "What's in it for me" a person might ask. Well i think that not only the feeling you get from uniting with all of the inhabitants of norrath to squash a common evil but a great possibilty of an uber pay off and Extream exp or maybe nothing just a cold hard defeat.I am not really sure if they drop anything or if they even give exp. They are most likely the least killed Npc in the game. I have heard of one or two being killed but to my knowlage no loot has ever been identified. There are only a couple of reasons why i have not been able to find the loot items either 1. The uber guild who took one down came up with an awsome item that they dont want to get nerfed because of 1000000 crying lowbies saying its too powerfull so they did not add it to new item lists 2. None of them have ever been killed 3. Normal Loot for lvl of mob 4. No loot :( Now i am not really sure yet of the master plan but i am thinking along the lines of a massive head on attack group attack at random with no aperant stratagey.A person could even make a mule char and lvl to 5 or 6 toe just for this battle.Toe to Toe with the Unchecked Evil of the world. Or i have got a more methodical aproach. Either way i could be just stupid or really tired but that is my idea and i am willing to set up shop on any server. e-mail me at massive_nexus_strike@YHAOO.COM if you have any ideas, you want to join (( lvl is of no importance 1-65 doesnt matter Class either warriors clerics shaman monks i am in need of warm bodies :) )) or you just want to flame about how stupid i am either way i will welcome your emails and i will try my very best to email you back .No matter what it says. More information on nexus is always welcome. E-mail me and give it a chance.

Happy hunting and good luck.
