Mooto's Proof

Follow Mooto (assuming nobody kills him) and when he gets to the orc camp he will say: "Orcs have infiltrated our area. I will reward anyone who shows me proof of their death." As a wolf you can hail Mooto and he responds "You would be wise to leave my sight while you still can. Unless you have something to give me." Giving the DeathFist Slashed Belt and Pawn Scalp did not result in anything, so I'm not sure what he needs, or if the quest works.

while doing the Misty Shrouds Quest (V'lynn Renloe - PoK) i noticed that instead of Mooto approaching Orc Camp one and Saying "What!! Orcs have moved into our area!!....etc" it is now an ordinary Green Goblin Warrior. Suspect the quest has been retired for good, without ever having been solved or at least reported as solved in Allakhazam
That might have been a place holder. I know over last weekend Mooto showed up there several times. Usually I will see a Goblin Warrior, Motto, or the Goblin Alchemist travelling that same path.
The required component (assuming this quest is complete) would be something that was around since when mooto was created, thus can not be the chief beads. This leaves us with the Scalps (pawn would make most sense), the belts (deathfist) and the picks. Another possibility is the scrolls (which might make sense seeing as mooto is a shaman/tactican). we have had negative feed back on the scalp and belt front. was this due to insufficient faction? perhaps we could try with an enchanter or bard in wolf form with faction spell/song in effect?

Regarding the idea about the Orc High Chief war beads....those are for the Bard's final task out of Freeport f.y.i.
tried giving him belts, war documents, and even and llegiable scroll, it would make sense to be some kind of quest because if you hail him when not sneaking he just tells you to bugger off.
was camping the orcs...I know, how board can you get, anyways had mooto come say his thing bout the orcs couple times, which is nice, tells me hes there so I can just kill him without watching for him, anyways, this gobby warrior, assume it was mooto's PH, comes over and says the same thing, my guesse is its not even a quest or its broken, seems every conceivable thing has been turned in and no dice, plus crits that arent even mooto are saying the same thing....wouldnt waste my time on it.

(Subject should read Orc Chief Beads?) The other day I was camping Orc Camp 1 (east commons) with a group. After about an hour, the only things that had popped were the usual centurions, oracles, legionnaires, and apprentices. Then, at one point, someone yelled "Legionnaires!" followed by "No, Chiefs!" These were by far the toughest orcs i had fought, but with our group they were easily put to death. I noticed that no one was looting anything, so i began raping and pillaging the corpses. On the corpse of Chief Fosloas, i found a purple string of beads called Chief Fosloas' Warbeads. On the other Chief's corpse i found another string of beads, white, called Chief Diedridan's Warbeads. No one i asked had any clue as to what they were for, only offering that they were "probably for a quest." After reading these posts and seeing no mention of these beads (i think), i can only assume that no one has thought of giving these beads to Mooto to try and complete his quest (unless they're used for something else). This seems most logical, as these beads of Orc Chiefs seem to me to be the highest form of proof, other then Lords, of the Orcs' deaths.

Has any one tried giving him the war documents that are dropped by the orcs?

The war documents used to be able to be handed in to an NPC at the bank in Rivervale (can't remember that NPC's name). He used to be standing right next to where Marshal Ghobber stands at the end of the long table on the first floor in back - but he is not there anymore... No idea where he went.

ok ran the mooto pick folls quest fully he wants something off of deepokets ( the rouge captin) so you have to kill him thene give it to mooto... its imposible! to all newbs trying mooto quest GIVE IT UP!

I never see Orc centurions killing gobbies, but i do see the Lumberjack killing them. Maybe if you give him the lumberjack Machete he'll talk to you some more......

i tried giveing him ne thing off the orcs i got i gave him the tunic armor from the spawn of the catsle and he just ran off with it i tracked him down and killed him abd got my stuff back the way i see it is that this is just bs and he will just run off with the stuff u give him

Well, I'm not giving up yet! Here's what I tried that did NOT work...the 4 war documents, 4 belts, 1 orc scalp, 1 orc belt, 1 orc shoulder pad and 1 orc pick. I thought I might be on to something with the orc bone fragments, but that didn't work either. They are lore so you can only hold one. Then the last time Mooto was at the orc camp, i killed an orc and got a lore orc jawbone. So I thought ok, maybe I have to kill them while Mooto's here. Well I tried that a few times and didn't get any other orc bones. Then I got the jawbone off another orc when Mooto wasn't around so maybe you don't have to kill them when he's there. But maybe there are other orc bone fragments that can work. I did try the 2 different ones at the same time and separately but with no luck. I'm hoping that since I have to be in wolf form to even talk to him that he'll give me something good for a druid when this ever gets solved.

This quest should no longer be in the game. As the gobblins and orcs have teamed up in a united effort to storm the vale.
Guess yer all to late on figuring the quest out, but I can honestly attest that the orcs he speaks of are not the ones in MT.
Either way it's mute quest is/should be gone with the unification of gobbie and orcs in the thicket.
Though I do love it, this quest was posted here about 2 years ago, and these newbs think "what if I give him quest piece a that just came into the game 1 month ago, that displays the plans of the orc and gobbie colaberate effort to storm the vale".
Simply put, think about it, since the orcs and gobbies are united in this effort, why on earth would Mooto want war documents (of which he is part of), describing how he and his coherts are going to attack the vale?
Just give up on the Mooto quest already. It's old, it shouldn't work anymore (since MT was changed). No it wasn't broken, however I am not going to do what needs to be done to redo the quest to see if it still works. The orcs do NOT drop what you need, it's a quest item that you can/could quest for (in hopes of handing what orc a gives you and handing it to orc b) but you have to betray the orcs to hand it over to mooto. The item really isn't even worth the effort.

You're stating that you Know what he's asking for, and that you've done the quest, but don't tell anyone what it is because you don't think the quest should still exist?

Just wanted to put my 2 pennyworth in - I still see Orc Lumberjacks attacking and killing goblins in MT, so no alliance there!

To the guy who is trying to scam people out of a cobalt bp, go get a clue. Mooto's BP of blah blah was funny once but i've seen that bull on both this site and everlore, now it is old and you should just give up posting.

The 4 War Documents are for the halfling warrior newbie quest weapon. As Mooto has been here for quite awhile its doubtful that the war docs go to him.Maybe he wants 4 deathfist belts.

I recently tried giving him the war pages. Perhaps I hailed on the wrong spot in his tour of the camps, but he simply attacked me when I hailed him. I tried to give war pages to him anyway and got the message that they were 'no drop' items & could not be traded or given away. So I simply killed him and took his clay totem that, as a paladin, I cannot use.

And if you give him your epic weapon he gives you a rusty weapon with the same stats to confuse everyone else. Or wait...was it a roll of candied mints that he gives? Mootos gives Mintos.

I killed him twice last night. 1st time he dropped a clay totem, +5HP, 2nd time he droppped an ac4 buckler that my druid couldn't use.

ITs all up to you. In my opinion their stats are pretty good but also IMHO Dwarves Darkelfs Woodelfs and barbarians arent that bad either

A while back in time, when i played a Dwarf in BB, i came across a Sealed Letter on a Orc runner. I opend the letter and it said something about that the Crusbone Orcs where makeing an allaiance with someone dont remember how, But at the end of the letter it said someting about that they had contacted another orcrace to attack The runnyeye Goblins, or something like that, Maybe this sealed letter is what u give to Mooto as proof that orcs are trying to wipe out the Runnyeye Goblins, might be worth a try. It sure makes u think, ive even checked the quests by Item list, and i couldt find the Sealed Letter there, so this might be how u solve the Mooto Quest

Just as an addendum... I was experimenting with a DE Warrior not too long ago. While sitting down to heal back up, I saw that fast lil' blue boy run right past me towards Neriak!
"Hey. He finally made it." I started to think.
Then the guards ripped him apart. So much for that idea.
The Deathfists need to find themselves a home, though. Blackburrow, Warrens, RunnyEye, Paw, Permafrost, Crushbone... even the Pickclaws have a home of sorts in the mines under Highkeep. Unless the Deathfists make a home for themselves, they're probably not long for Norrath. Humans in Freeport on one side, Dark Elves in Neriak to another, and Halflings blocking them in. They're only route left to leave through would be out the tunnel to North Ro, which already has its own Orc inhabitants. Shralok orcs keep them from getting through Kithicor into Highpass.
What can I say? I travel a lot and think about this Norrathian geopolitical stuff.

just kill him. he drops a totem most of the time and i've gotten 2 clay totems but each had differnt stats: 1st kill +5 str. 2nd kill +5int.

i think you need to give mooto the no drop sword you get from the orc weponsmith

No way. The sword you get from the orc weaponsmith goes with the three others you find on the ground in the tents and return them to the guy in Steel Warriors that gives you the note to pick up the weapon shipment. When you bring the note to the dwarf who runs the forge in N Freeport he tells you that a band of orcs ambushed his delivery guy and stole them. And you have to collect all 4 at once, you can't run into the camp when it is empty, collect the 3 easy ones and bank them until you find the weaponsmith dead someplace and loot it later.
