I'm not sure if this leads anywhere (it is probably a broken quest), but Blixkin Entopop mentions a super bug by the name of Terrorantula and asks if you have heard of it. This partucular spider can be found in South Ro, is a pretty high level, and is known to drop various body parts, particularly legs, when killed. Since Blixkin collects bug parts, it may be that he will reward you if you give him these. However, I have been told of one person who tried to give it to him and got nothing in return. There is probably more to this.

Need all dialogues, /loc and exact in-game names of quest mobs, faction hits if any, quest rewards if any, information required to finish quest.

Blixkin Entopop does not mention any super bug, does not mention Terrorantula's name, and does not want Gargantuan Tarantula Leg.
The big, and I mean BIG, spider Terrorantula
# Sep 07 2005 at 4:18 PM Rating: Decent
I just killed him 2 weeks ago while farming other items in this zone. I was killing everything in sight. I suspect that killing spiders triggered him. Just guessing.

He was Dark Blue to my lvl 54 Ranger. He hits for 40-125 with 70 being the avg. Hits at about avg speed too. He poisons alot. Two stuck to me. He had WAY more HPs than any other mobs in the zone. He took about 800-1200HPs from me. Fight was over in 2mins.

I was not aware that he was part of a quest. I'll have to check my inventory to see if I kept the drops. If I still have them, I'll turn them in and post back.

yea right, he didn't drop a heart for one, you're anon for 2, and i highly doubt something that easy to kill would result in such an item
Very kiteable

Soloed this big bug with my 44 druid. Used 85% or so of my mana (have 190 wisdom and +50 mana in items). It seems it can regen. Dots didn't seem as effective when root/rotting. Either that or it has so many HPs it makes that bar drop slower. Either way I got too impatient and used some DD. May not have used as much mana if I would have stuck with the dots. Enveloping roots 3xs, Calefation 3xs, and Drifting Death twice I think. What's that, around 2,500 HPs?
Forget it, you do the math.
Anyhoo, have 5 of these silks for sale on Povar. Send a tell to Bibbe.
Dig.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 20 2002 at 6:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) people people this quest has nothing to do with the bug collector its a part of another quest lets just say if you know how to complete the quest you r rewarded with J-Boots NICE!!!!
RE: bah bugs
# Nov 27 2002 at 10:11 AM Rating: Decent
The only way that this bug is related to the jboots quest is that you kill it along with every other friggin creature in the desrt portion of south ro for hours on end in an attempt to get the ancient cyclops to spawn.

I got my jboots about 2 months ago at lvl 36 and have mq'd them for a few others about 4 times. The terrorantula gets killed .... maybe 8-13 times while I've been in s ro along with baby terroantula's blah blah blah. I wish it was a place holder for the cyclops, then the jboots would be easy to get, but it is not.

p.s. Look to the quest for journeymans boots link for the long extended arguments about this if your interested in doing this quest.

Perhapse as with many Cured armors, it seems brewing is involved. Maybe you Brew the legs or heart. and then combine it. Is there a brewing made of spider legs? Perhapse there is a 'magical' quality that makes the silks like steel when combined with brewed terrorantulla parts.

Shrug. Im still learning my trade skills.

i have done the bug collection quest numerous times over the past 2 months and not once has blixkin (or whatever) mentioned terrorantulas...besides, the silks alone can sell for 30pp+ per why would i give them to him and not know if i was going to get something back? as for the legs and heart? i have never heard of these being dropped although personally have never killed a terrorantula either...oh btw, are there more than 1 or is it a single mob?
What to do with it
# Nov 11 2001 at 11:57 AM Rating: Default
The silks make Erudite Cultural which makes which takes purified mana (4 rubies and a poison vile which a enchanter fashions together) platinum thread and couple other things. The graphics are different depending on deity and gender. the imbued Steelsilk is trivial at 122 and normal is at 164 recipes and screenshots can be found at www.eqtraders.com if your interested.
RE: What to do with it
# Apr 05 2002 at 11:33 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, imbued it trivial LONG before 122. I am a tailor of 147 and have yet to fail in making a price of imbued. I expect that it probably, no longer requires tailoring skill. Most likely to balance the difficulty of obtaining these items. (Much as they did with Armor of Ro)
Erudite Cultural Armor
# Oct 01 2001 at 6:11 PM Rating: Default
The Terrorantulla silk is used for Erudite Cultural armor. it has awesome awesome stats and gives off the look of gold vellious armor. the platnium thread can be imbuded to give different stats. its incredibly expensive and rare. for the sheer purpose who wants to camp that thing to get silk for one of the 3 rarest classes in the game?
Erudite paladins, shadowknights and clerics. you need a skill of 200 to sew this. its about 180 platnium for the platnium thread and that pretty much is the only cost. you combine 2 terrorantulla
silk swatches into the erudite only sewing kit, a platnium thread *enchanted with whatever gem you need for stats* and the appropriate pattern.

forgive me if this is wrong but it's the best thing i can tell you
RE: Erudite Cultural Armor
# Apr 05 2002 at 11:47 AM Rating: Excellent
You are on the right track
FYI: Imbued no longer requires a tailoring skill.
Standard Steelsilk still does however, trivial around 170.

Imbued Cultural armor requires:

1 Pattern (standard tailor patterns)

1-3 (per peice) Terrorantula silk swatches (2 silks combined in an erudite sewing kit = 1 swatch)

1 Platnum thread (You cannot imbue thread)

1 vial of Purified Mana (4 Rubies + 1 poison vial + 1 lvl 49 enchanter spell. [Note: many enchanters do not purchase this spell. Finding one who will help you is sometimes quite time consuming. Although I have been lucky enough to find some very kind people. Rememebr to tip, it costs 1000mana to cast])

1 Imbued gem of your diety (Topaz for Quellious, Black Pearl for Prexus, and Amber for Cazic-Thule)
This is a lvl 29 spell, any druid or cleric of your religion can cast it. I purchased the spell and brought it with me and eventually found a helpful lvl 29 Quellious Cleric. She imbued 1/2 a stack for me while I took care of healing/buffing her group.

Prices (at 132cha, with decent faction)

gems run about 5pp each
thread is about 200pp
Rubies are 130pp
Patterns are < 1p
Poison Vials are made by masters of pottery. About lvl 140. I made 2 stacks and failed about 10 of them as a lvl 110 potter. (I have since raised my skill making vials for others) They are cheap to make. Sketch + Large block of clay + any non-ruined pelt (I prefer zombie skin or MQ/LQ wolf/cat) [If I catch anyone wasting a HQ bear on this, I will root you in the middle of KC *LOL*]

Terrorantula for silk
# May 04 2001 at 7:02 PM Rating: Default
I recently bought and read a note from a weaver describing imbuing terrorantula silk with mana and sewing it with silken thread to make "silk armor as strong as steel" I have no idea if this is something newly added or not (though it was new to me). Is this for making silversilk? Next time I'm on my other computer (where I saved a screen cap of the instructions) I'll copy it out for here if there's any interest. But it seems like terrorantulas are for making terrorantula silk now only.

not sure about silversilk armor, there are recipes for steelsilk armor that can be found in this website. unfortuantely, steelsilk is a racial armor that can only be crafted and worn by erudites.

good luck

Dunno about tailoring with the silks. I tried to combine a few (2,3,4,6,8) in my sewing kit and got the same response, cannot combine in this container bit. Makes me wonder....

The sewing kits to make the swatches can be bought in Cabalis and in Paineel. Normal sewing kits will not suffice to make them

# Sep 19 2001 at 9:18 AM Rating: Default
I bought an Erudite Sewing Kit from an NPC vendor in Oggok. I was looking for an upgrade from the small sewing kit...This had 8 slots, but I couldn't use it at all. So I sold it back and cursed the loss of gold.

Perhaps it is used by an Erudite to combine Terror silks?

Just my bit.

Yes, erudite sewing kits are usable Only by Erudites (much in the same way vale kits are only usable by halflings)

Use these kits to combine terrorantula silks into swatches. And again to make swatches into armor. I carry mine with me at all times so I can make more armor as I locate the materials.

What you were looking for is a standard Large Sewing kit (sold in most cities). I carry a deluxe kit with me (10 slots) They are nerfed and tough to find. But VERY useful if you plan to make Wus armor.

Terrorantuala combine box?
# Apr 07 2001 at 7:45 PM Rating: Default
I know Blixin or whatever his name is gives you a "combine" box for all the newby bug parts....so I'm just wondering, maybe there is another "combine" box you can get from Blixin for the terrorantula parts. You people have been handing in all the right items it seems, but to our knowledge the terrorantula drops two peices, a heart and a leg. They may both require a box to put them in so we can give blixin the alternate "combine" item.
Anyway, that is just a stab in the dark but it's worth trying to do.

wrong npc
# Mar 01 2001 at 12:31 PM Rating: Decent
NPC that say "Im not sure what ill do with this, but ill hold on to it" mean that they have nothing to do with this item if he did need other items to accompany it he would reply something like "I told you I require a set of ....." and if your faction was not high enough he would say something "you have to prove yourself more to "fation" and then return"
so wrong npc ppl I think quest is not in the game personally
A failure
# Oct 11 2000 at 11:00 AM Rating: Default
I spent all day yesterday working on the bug collecor quest, and handed in the completed box, got a poison poiton that you apply to your weapon if you are a rogue. Blixkin does not meation terrorantula anymore(my faction with blixkin was indifferent). Just for fun I handed in one terroranula leg and got a message" Im not sure what ill do with this, but ill hold on to it".So:
#1 You must have Amiable or better faction now, after verant's fix.
#2 Verant just removed the quest from the game, and said it was fixed.
#3 You have to hand in both the legs and heart at once.
#4 You have to hand in legs, heart, note and completed bug collection box.

I have also petitioned this and will get in contact with the lead GM on my server tonight, Wish me luck 8)
possiblitties
# Oct 10 2000 at 11:52 AM Rating: Default
Terror drops both legs an heart, heart is deffinatly the rare, i killed him 3 times over this weekend and each time he droped the legs. a long time ago i got the heart, and traded it into blixken and gota thank you. It is possible that he want the completed box of bug parts, the note and heart and legs all at once, that would make the 4items that u can give at once to an NPC. Other possibilities are just legs and heart, but u must hand in the bug collection first. Anyways, I will try handing in the bug collection and the legs at once, since I have 2 sets of legs, If that doesnt work ill go back and camp him for the heart.
Abashi says quest is fixed
# Oct 03 2000 at 7:49 AM Rating: Default
...he posted that on the gameplay board this week. Of course from what I hear, "fixed" means Blixkin doesn't mention the Terrorantula anymore. But like I said, that is what I heard.
