This is a shared task (1-6 players) that was introduced in October 2007 and is available every year around Halloween.

It starts with Leavalin Mossbite in the Greater Faydark at -1115, -1930, 25.

You say, 'Hail, Leavalin Mossbite'

Leavalin Mossbite says 'Hail adventurer! Please, I know you have much to do, but the Faydark needs your [assistance]!'

You say, 'Assistance?'

Leavalin Mossbite says 'The forest and her people are under attack by nefarious magics! Someone, most likely a necromancer of great power, has planted some sort of seeds in the forest to the north west of here. These seeds cannot be purged from the ground despite the best efforts of our druids. And now that the Nights of the Dead have arrived, these seeds are coming to [life]!'

You say, 'Life?'

Leavalin Mossbite says 'Perhaps life was not the proper word. The seeds are sprouting into deadly skulls! They spring from the ground and gather their strength for but a moment, then they seek out the good folk of the forest and attack them with dark magic! It is believed that the skulls will cease to sprout once the Nights of the Dead have passed, but until then we need help crushing them. They must be crushed with a magical shillelagh that I can provide you, and it must be done moments after they sprout. Unfortunately the power of the shillelagh is short lived, so you must hurry and crush as many as you can. I can even offer a small reward should you defeat a satisfactory number of them in time. Will you [help]?'

You say, 'I'll help'

Leavalin Mossbite says 'Thank you! Here is what you need. Go quickly and go with the will of Tunare and the thunder of Karana!'

You have been assigned the task 'Necromancer's Garden'.

You receive "Blessed Shillelagh".

Destroy the skulls growing in Greater Faydark before they become too powerful 0/10 (Greater Faydark)

This is a timed quest with a very short timer. The clicky on the Shillelagh only takes the skulls down about 18-20%, so it takes several clicks per skull. With a 6-second recast timer, the task is almost impossible solo within the time limit.

The skulls are in the area northwest of the quest NPC.

The only way to complete it is to target yourself and click the Blessed Shillelagh 20 times (10 to shrink you) and the other 10 to get the quest updates.

I can confirm this still works as of October 2024 on Yelinak (SoD era). However, for anyone looking for a free shrink clicky, it doesn't seem to work outside of GFay.

Worked fine on 4 characters for me this year. Clicked the Shillelagh on the bats mostly cause they only take 3 clicks. The little tiny fairies only take 2 but its a waste of time to find them. Just go a little ways from the quest giver and all the mobs are right there
NPC/Quest giver not up?

I didn't understood properly previous comments so I wanted to make a post to clarify was seemed unclear to me :

To complete this quest, you need to equip the club you're given and use its ability to shrink Graveskulls untill they disapear... 10 clicks each, 6 second recast... not very doable...
BUT
You can also shrink most (if not all) mobs in the zone to get credit.
It works exactly the same way, get your best runspeed buff, equip the Shillelagh, run to the nearest mob and use the club, watch the mob shrink, repeat untill mob disapeared, run to next mob, repeat untill you complete the quest...

It doesn't involve killing at all (killing as in : blasing or slicing mob untill they are dead).

Bats, and faeries are 2/3 clicks,
Wasps, skeletons, and orc pawns are 4/5
Wolvesn and drakes are 5/6...

Hope it'll help :)

In addition to that, smaller mobs need less clicks than bigger, fat mobs. Pixies need 2, spiders, 3, ... trees and bigger fat orks more than 6.

You can do this quest at least as early as level 11, but you can't use both rewards, just the stat food.

Also, the lockout timer is definitely back. It's 20 hours.

Don't have to kill only heads.. can kill orc pawns, skellys, faeries. The smaller the mob, the less clicks it takes.

I suggest a tracker to do this one. The time is so short, you really need to be able to run right to the next mob without searching around. They removed the 20 hour lock out, so you can (and probably will) request this one over and over.

As they've said in other posts, time is tight. The quest is 10 minutes long. You have to kill 10 mobs. You have to hit each mob 10 times, and the recast time on the Shillelagh is 6 seconds. So, assuming no pauses or errors, each mob requires 1 minute to kill. And to make things more interesting, some of the mobs poof. They just disappear.

So, if you want to attempt this, and you're not using a cheat.... you track Graveskull, run to the first mob, target him, and right click on the Shillelagh (in your primary slot). He will stay at 100% health, but he will get smaller and smaller with each hit. After the 10th hit, he will break apart, still with 100% health. There seems to be groups of three mobs close by, so for a few mobs, you won't need to run far.

The respawn time on the mobs is about 10 seconds (according to tracking), but they rarely respawn in the same spot.

ok this is very easy quest did the 10 kills needed with like 2 to 3 min left over..

kill anything small , dont bother with the heads, you get task update even when u clobber a lil fairy troublmaker or a small orc pawn taks 2 to 3 swings..

so this quest is very duable.. i just completed it now im going to wait the 20 hours to see if i can redu it and get another 10 x pot :P maybe if not no big deal still 10 dose of floaty skull rocks.. and when ur a bard it lasts for 27hours.. :P
Not enough time to Solo
# Oct 27 2011 at 7:11 PM Rating: Decent
This quest is near impossible to solo. It takes about a minute to a minute and a quarter to kill each head, which means you need something like 11 to 12 minutes to kill them all.

You can't use the potion reward until level 70.

There is a lock out of 20 hours on this quest.

It seems that once you have completed the quest one time, you only get the food as a reward. This is after having only done the quest the day before, I am not sure what would happen if the quest is up next year and people try to do it again.

This illusion is cool, not the usual skelly model.
