You say, 'Hail, Tabazin Gearflinger' Tabazin Gearflinger says 'Well hello there! You've come to look at this marvelous machine, have you not? Isn't she amazing! I know, she looks battered now, but she'll be flying again in no time. I just need some [key parts] and a bit of elbow grease and I'll have her back in shape. Soon she will be terrorizing Meldrath's minions [again]!' You say, 'Again?' Tabazin Gearflinger says 'Of course again! Don't let those [naysayers] get to you. I was aboard when she flew up here and engaged the enemy. She soared like a hawk and struck like a snake! Why, there's no doubt in my mind that we would have won this battle right then if one of those crazy flying steambots hadn't got in through a window and crashed into one of the engines. The explosion was pretty bad, but she was still flyin' true! It was the smoke that got into the bridge that was the problem. The captain just couldn't see where he was going, that's why we crashed.' You say, 'What naysayers?' Tabazin Gearflinger says 'Those poopy pants! They say that the engine exploded under the strain of flight! What do they know about it anyway! Don't believe their stories about a slight down draft causing our crash, it's all poppycock! And we most certainly had engaged the enemy before the crash! No matter how many times they tell you that the Albatross hit the ground before the enemy had even know we were here, you just laugh at their ignorance!' You say, 'What key parts?' Tabazin Gearflinger says 'Oh, you know, simple things like springs, gears, [screws], wire, metal sheets. . . Nothing complicated and all of it could be scavenged from those rotten steamworks by someone [brave enough] to go out there.' You say, 'I am brave enough' Tabazin Gearflinger says 'I bet you are! Well then, I have a couple of tasks that need doing.' A task window pops up offering eight different versions of "Gearing Up". You may only have one version going at a time. All items required are dropped by various clockworks in the zone. You have been assigned the task 'Gearing Up, Part II'. Although you can only get one of his Gearing Up tasks at a time, you can pre-loot his items, since the update is given upon turn-in. Looking through all 8 tasks, his combined shopping list is: Class A Cog (6) Large Coil Spring (3) Small Coil Spring (10) Large Hex Bolt (10) Steel Beam (3) Micro-Cog (4) Sheet of Steel (3) Hex Bolt (6) Spool of Fine Wire (1) Steel Wire (8) Oil Can (4) Grease Tin (5) Steamwork Powersource (9) With this list, you can just collect everything as you go, then turn each set in when he gives you the task. They're no longer offered separately, you now get a pop-up asking which one you want. On the flip side, you can only have one of them active at a time.

I could never do the large spring and cog part, but I finally figured it out. I still can't get it when I have any other gearing up tasks. So remove the rest of them (you may want to finish them and hold your extra stuff.) Now, make a hotkey that does "/say Brave Enough" Hover your mouse over the decline all button. Hit your hotkey, if it doesn't get the right task decline it. Rinse and repeat until you get the right one. Since this is a nuisance, I'd save these parts and do a bunch at once. Here's the text:
Tabazin has asked you to gather some parts to help rebuild the Albatross. He was so desparate for them that it seemed he might run out across the courtyard on his own to find them. Of course doing so would only mean his death, so your offer to help him find what he seeks has probably helped keep him safe, for a while at least.
Tabazin thinks the problem with the Albatross is that the cogs in the drive shaft for the main propeller are damaged. He needs some new ones to repair the drive. He'll also need some large springs to jury rig some broken levers in the drive control panel.
[This task begins in Fortress Mechanotus]
It takes 6 Class "A" Cog and 3 Large Coil Spring

Done this about 60 times and still indif, so like the other guy said....probably better places like the farm etc for faction.
Also....if you don't have room for all tasks, u can select any one by repeating the words " brave enough " ....a good reason is that some tasks need the same items as others, so if you have 2 that say need 4 and 6 large hex bolts and you hand in 4.....u will get the 4 on both tasks.

It takes about 45 times doing this quest to get to indifferent faction. btw, make sure you have taken the max of 7 of this quest at the same time. turnng in items will count toward multiple different quest at the same time.

Yes the faction from this quest seems rather minimal. Talking with guildies, doing the quests at the farm in DSH is a much faster route. This task can be done at almost any place you can set up a camp on the first level, so battling for mobs should never be an issue.

Have done this quest a dozen times and am still dubious with Automated Vending Unit II who is supposed to be on this faction.
Tabazin is located under the wreckage, at Loc +92, -1476, +375.
When I tried to get his tasks, I was given the message "You are already working on a task for this person..." even though I wasn't. It is possible I am too low at 70 to get his tasks. Any thoughts?

Keep in mind guyz that all these metal pieces also drop from Fiddle D in dragonscale hills. It would be an amazingly long camp to kill clockworks until this named popped each time in order to get the pieces. but I am just saying that I got an average of 3 pieces each time I killed him.
