I had one cave ent marked on my map, that was the wrong cave. That cave split up into 3 tunnels.
The right cave is near the ship wrecks in the middle of the bay. I could see one wreck straight ahead from the cave ent, not far away.
The cave is very narrow and it is hard to swim fast in it.
I got update for the flame when i got close, so I didn't have the swim down to it (I did that anyway and then I aggoed 2 undeads who were down there).

This solo task begins with Sid Hacke, a vendor found on the island of Jardel's Hook at the outpost near -1640, +3300.
You say, 'Hail, Sid Hacke' Sid Hacke says 'Ahoy landlubber! Me current wares be feeble, but ye look hale and hearty. Ye will [help] me!' You say, 'I will help' Sid Hacke says 'Aye. I be needing some [supplies] that can only be found on [deadbone reef]. The reef ain't safe for man nor landlubber like you, but I'm willin' ta gamble with yer life, if ye be. Har!' You say, 'Tell me about deadbone reef' Sid Hacke says 'The reef it be a frightful place. The least of the threats be the cannibals on the land, and the sharks in the water. The dead that be drowned there be cursed to stay in the water. Their unrest causes them to do they best ta sink any that come by, and they have added many ta they numbers. Ye watch yeself when ye there.' You say, 'What supplies do you need?' Sid Hacke says 'I be needin' all sort of stuff from that cursed place. Meat from the creepy crawlies that roam the beach, fins from the mighty sharks that roam the reef, and the little heads the cannibals be fond of. There even be some ships that sunk on the reef, and though their dead be restless, ye might find some worthy booty from them. And then there be the dead themselves, they be a menace. Perhaps ye can return some to their watery grave while yer gatherin' me supplies. Be thee [willing]?' You say, 'I am willing' Sid Hacke says 'Arrr! Ye be as brave as me thought ye were. Choose ye task!' You are offered six tasks, one of which is 'Rumors of a Flame'. You have been assigned the task 'Rumors of a Flame'. Sid Hacke heard of a flame burning under the water. He can't believe it's true, so go check it out for him. Kill some of the drowned dead while you're at it. They are a menace to the trade ships. Correction all these's post are wrong except for the loc's
2860 / -3980 but here it is there are 3 tunnels...
1st tunnel is s/w of the beach underwater Loc 2900 / -3289
2nd tunnel is n/e of beach underwater Loc 3483 / -4100
3rd tunnel is just at south on the compass in between the other to tunnels underwater Loc 2860 / -3980
All the tunnels are guarded by skelly's - Invs. vs. undead

As of 28-NOV-2010, this quest isn't showing any reward other than pp/faction/exp.
Sid gives 5 quests.
The first 2 you complete offer only faction and coin, regardless of which 2.
The next 3 completions, again regardless of order of completion, each offer an additional bone to select.
It's a bit confusing to get used to, but all these quests work similarly (The first 2 are faction, the rest offer parts). Hope this helps!

The flame is in a pit, deep one, all the way at the bottom. The entrance is in the water right below the beach at loc (2860, -3980). It is a very deep skinny tunnel straight down, not the one that branches. It is full of skeletons so ivu!

When you get around to the 5 missions on Deadbone Reef, you can get them all before you get there so that you get credit for killing stuff on all the quests.
Be sure to do the find the flame part first so that you dont miss out on the credit for all the Drowned dead you kill. Plus you need to do the explore the ships part before you collect the drowned dead booty coins. Otherwise you wont get a task update message for having collected the parts.

This cave is a near vertical cave. Almost straight down with a flame at the bottom. There is another set of caves to the west of this one that is more horizontal. Both are near the shore and on the west end of the island. Use ivu but beware the sharks can still see you.

The current cave (as at the date of this post) marked on the map from mapfiend is the wrong cave - as the poster above says the correct cave is a vertical shaft down.
A point to note my invis failed on getting the task update and a pesky skelly jumped me, whether to update dropped invis or I was just unlucky, it best to be prepared for a fight or a quick exit out - I tried to swim back up but due to the nature of the graphic and the tunnel shape it did not lend its self to allowing a hasty departure.

The "Find the underwater flame (The Buried Sea)" is in one of the caves on the west side of the island, go to loc 2900, neg 3950, 240 and you'll see a cave, go in it with INVIS VS UNDEAD on and drop down deep into it and you'll see the flame.
