This quest begins in Plane of Knowledge with V`Lynn Renloe (good side armor quest giver at location 779, 454, -159, although he is neutral and will give quests to anyone).

The task steps are as follows, beginning in Innothule Swamp:

1. Speak with Igok (-322, 526)

You say, 'Hail, Igok'

Greetings dry lander. I see that you have the mark of Master V`Lynn upon you and the fire of righteousness burning within. So you are here to prove your worthiness to your Master, yes?

Very well...sometime ago I sent a young one webbed warrior southwards to find his destiny. He has not returned and I fear the dangers of the swamp were too much for him. Find out what has happened to him. In addition, you will be charged with the tasks he could not accomplish.

You must prove your perseverance by returning with two chunks of meat from the bull alligators that prowl these waters. The swamp, rich with decay, now spawns abominations of nature. Slay five fungus man guardians. Lastly though we have vanquished all but a few remaining trolls, a new annoyance has sprung up. Several kobolds have been seen North East recently, no doubt scouting out new locations for them to set up camps. Seek out and slay at least eight of these burly kobolds so they will trouble us no more. Return to me once you have done this.

2. Loot 2 Gator Meat from Bull Alligators
3. Deliver Gator Meat to Igok
4. Kill 8 Kobold Hunters
5. Find out what happened to T'lok ("a fallen froglok" on a small island in the southwest at -1754, 586)
6. Kill 5 Fungus Man Trackers
7. Speak with Igok (receive Bog Rose)

You say, 'Hail, Igok'

Very good dry lander. Though my heart is heavy with the news of T`Lok's passing. I am grateful to you for discovering his fate. Bring this rare flower back to your Master so he will know you have my blessing to continue your trials.

8. Deliver 1 Bog Rose to V'lynn Renloe

V`Lynn Renloe says, 'Excellent. It seems you have even managed to impress Igok with your deeds. Very well, I surely cannot deny you your reward. Take this note to your guildmaster.'

Receive: Note About Your Second Trial

The note can be brought to your guildmaster for a piece of newbie armor, depending on your race / class (what piece/slot for each race/class combination?):

Pay no attention to the LOC given in the description above. Igok LOC is -322.84, 526.18. You folks need to change it, and stop sending people on wild goose chases.

The reason why many locations are wrong is because things were changed over the years, revamps and such and these quests and npcs on the site were never updated.

Earlier posts state the quest can be made much simpler with a tracker. However, there is a region of Innothule Swamp where all the mobs necessary to the quest are available and in plentiful supply.

Check the area north of the stone hand where the trolls are standing and south of the place where Kippidore the froglok stands. You'll find plenty of Fungus Man Trackers, Kobold Hunters and in fewer numbers, bull alligators.

Watch out for the roving ogre...

Oh! And my reward for completing this quest with an Iksar monk were the Fistwraps of Pain.

Well I did this quest today, and though a pain, it can be done.

First, if you are a Ranger (or have a friend who can track) it will make this easier.

Second, bull alligators mainly appear in the upper half (northern half) of the Innothule Swamp.

Third, kill all the alligators. Reading a bit, many think the swamp alligators are PHs for the bulls. Also, there are troll hunters (don't know exact name but seen them) NPCs who go and kill the alligators too, so if you can whack them, do so.

Remember, you want gator meat that drops off the bulls. Don't get discouraged. If I can do it (and I have zero patience in many things like this) you can too!

Tried to hand in the two gator meat to Igok. No reponse from him. After reading that other players had the same problem, and sending a ticket also gets no response...I'm dropping this quest. Thanks alot Sony for wasting my time on this broken quest.

Island in bottom left corner of map.

Is it really so damn hard to say a location on map without coordinates?

Simply put without tracking you could try for a week and still not get the meat. It took a 85 ranger to finally manage. Unless this leads to some other quest... If it does I'll let ya know. This is the most worthless quest ever. Crude bracers are far superior from the stats people posted. Basically this armor quests armor seems outdated. Mostly just a way **** around.

It does have to be looted from the bulls. You can give him non bull looted meat but it is pointless since you still have to loot 2 off the bulls.

Bull Alligators
# Jul 05 2008 at 12:10 PM Rating: Decent
Was able to camp Bull Alligators at level 13 chanter at LOC 491.12, -278.76, 8.23
Extremely rare drop of gator meat but Bull Alligators popped with fair regularity. Not sure if the swamp alligators are place holders.
Bull Alligator seems to path along East West from camp spot.

There's a Fallen Froglok at -1761,583.
Don't bother
# Jun 02 2008 at 4:51 AM Rating: Decent
The Gator meat drop rate is *way* out of line. I've had none in about 20 Bull alligator kills and am giving up. Yeah, call me lazy, but the rest of this and the previous quest combined took me much less time than I've already invested in trying to get just one @#$% Gator meat. There is no end in sight.

T'lok now at -1760, 583 on small island in middle of lake in SW part of zone. I guess they moved him when Innothule was revamped.

Started this one ages ago(like, a whole week), but my wood elf Druid was KOS to the kobolds. Train city. I got frustrated and gated.

Figured once they were grey to me I'd go back to finish.

Right-o. So I started this again tonight. Killed the Fungi guys easy. Camped that island (733,448) for awhile and killed a bull alligator. "Gator Meat" dropped. Awesome!!!

After that I would camo(Bashers hate me), camp, and kill kobold hunters and bull alligators. The alligators were spawning well enough but were only dropping teeth, spines, hides, and "Chunk of Meat" which doesn't advance the quest. After getting bashed by that Nernak or whatever his name is, and having to look at my humiliated corpse, I decided that if I did not get a "Gator Meat" off the next bull(which was going to be hunted up by the tower), I was going back to PoK to camp.

Anyone who's done this quest probably knows without my saying, but yeah- after about half an hour of stalking around the island that the tower's on, avoiding Bashers, and staring at still water- I went back to PoK.

This is such a time-consuming quest but I really want to finish it. I'll post when I do.

Finished this up today. Stood on an island southwest of the tower and waited for bull alligators. I killed four. The fourth dropped "Gator Meat".

I handed them in to Igok, found T'lok(-1963,1023), and returned to get my bog rose from Igok.

The quest isn't difficult(unless you're trained on by kobolds or trolls), but it is time consuming.

Igok does not speak. You hail him and you get the quest with no dialogue. Follow the steps and get your item. BTW, where the heck is T'Lok?

just completed this one with my lvl 12 rogue tonight... had a much easier time this time finding bull alligators even though i had tracking with a ranger the first time i tried it a long while ago.... got 2 gator meats within the first 4 bull alligators i killed .... last time i killed about 20 and got 1 i think, so its a much better quest now in my opinion.

you get a wrist slot piece of newbie armor for the turn in... in my case my gnome got Shadowwalker Bracer cause hes bertoxulous rogue...

It's odd you would get a wrist item for this. The "First Trial" is supposed to be for them. Turning in the "Note About Your Second Trial" should have given you a HAND item like gloves or gauntlets. If you got a bracer then there's something definitely wrong with this task.

Your right, it was the gloves.... all i can say is that it was really early in the morning when i posted after playing all night otherwise every else i posted was correct.
Up and running!
# Mar 24 2007 at 1:02 PM Rating: Decent
I tried this one out today and I was able to hail Igok the frog. So far it looks like this one works again. Yea! the bug report paid off.

Definitely works now! I found that with a little patience you can find the Bull Alligators near the hand sticking out of the island as previously stated. It took about 15 kills to get the 2 Gator Meats to drop.

Turn-in of the "Note About Your Second Trial" to my GM yielded a pair of Taruun Guantlets.

As of today this quest is still bugged. I tried to talk to Igok and couldn't get a response. Next time I log in I'll have to submit a bug report.
