You say, 'Hail, Yun Master Arglug'

Yun Master Arglug says 'Welcome back, young Yun. I hope your training is going well. Unfortunately, I have been unable to keep up to date on your progress, but should you need advanced training in any individual skills, I am here to help you with that. As well, I am here to help guide you through your growth as a Shaman in the Guktan Army. The spirits will also be your guide, and with the skills that you learn here, you will be better equipped to serve the Army. If you plan on following the path of a [Shaman], I have some tasks for you to complete, if it suits your interest.'

You say, 'I am a Shaman.'

Yun Master Arglug says 'I thought as much. I am glad that you have chosen to become a Shaman. Let's get started on your training. I will give you a list of items that you will need to collect, as well as a magical assembly kit in which to combine these items. Once you have successfully combined the items, it will create a material that you will use to craft a suit of armor that will protect you from the dangers of the training grounds. If you are ready to begin your task, I will give you the assembly kit and instructions for collecting the items required to craft your armor. Are you ready to receive your [assembly kit]?'

You say, 'I am ready to receive my assembly kit.'

Yun Master Arglug says 'Excellent, then it is time that we get started. Here is the assembly kit used to combine the different items required to craft your own Yun Initiate's Armor. Each piece of armor will require different items to craft. These items will be available from both our outpost, as well as the training grounds near here. When you are ready to receive a recipe for a specific material, simply tell me which armor piece you [wish to craft]. I hold the recipes for Yun Initiate's [Helms], [Bracers], [Boots], [Armguards], [Legplates], [Gloves] and [Breastplates]. Keep in mind that the items required to make some of the larger pieces of armor will be a bit more difficult to get. You may want to wait until you are more experienced before attempting to obtain the components.'

You say, 'I wish to craft Boots.'

Yun Master Arglug says 'A pair of boots would be a wise choice for a young recruit. Our training grounds are often dangerous, and plagued with various perils. Boots would offer some excellent protection for your feet, as well as some protection from the elements. To create the material needed to craft your boots, you will need to gather two kobold talons, an amulet from an undead froglok, and a ball of pulpy fungus, and combine them in your assembly kit. Once you have the correct material, you will need to forge the items together, along with this mold, to craft your Boots of the Yun Initiate.'

I talked to the NPC and used the saying listed here.

No response.

Actually there are zero words in brackets now when he talks, and the same words are said.

I am unsure if I am missing something, or something broke?

EDIT:

I was wrong. He does NOT say the last line anymore.

This has been removed: If you plan on following the path of a [Shaman], I have some tasks for you to complete, if it suits your interest.

So there is no way to trigger any armor quest

Undead Froglok Talisman

I saw an NPC in my track list that I've not seen before while trying to forage an epic piece in the swamp just now. His name was DVEN TULVNEK. When I approached he said:

"You shall be the first souls I use to empower myself! Prepare to die!"

Right as that was said, several froglok ghouls spawned in a row infront of him. This included "A Froglok Bone Spirit". It appears this dropped the Undead Froglok Talisman also.

After all those mobs he spawned were killed, DVEN kept trash-talking. He said next:

"I do not need the undead souls of these mindless beasts to do my bidding. I will suck the life from you myself!"

He also had a pet spawned at this point. I slayed them both. He dropped nothing. Keep in mind that you can not attack him first. It won't allow you to cast spells on him (or melee I assume) until those spawned mobs are dead.

----------
Several minutes have passed since I posted the message above. He spawned again and summoned the following mobs.

2-Trollish Bone Spirits
2-Ghoulish Trolls

ALL dropped jack-squat. Including DVEN himself.

I can confirm.. the Undead Froglok Talisman drops from the easier froglok ghoul. I killed several Fetid ones and never got a talisman.
talons

All reports I have received indicate that regular kobolds drop the talons. I found one on a regular kobold, too.

The Talisman is very rare, as seems to be the mob that drops it (the regular non-fetid ghoul).

Do the Undead Froglok Talismans drop for both ghoul froglok and the fetid froglok ghouls? From only one type? Or from the named Froglok Ghoul, Rusteff somethingorother? I have heard conflicting reports on this. Any clarification would be most helpful. I have killed about 40 of the fetids and ghoul froggies and have received nothing but zombie skin and the froglok ghoul foot.

Kobolds, being friedly creatures, have made it to the top of my most killed list. Not a one has dropped a talon.

Have I just not killed enough or is there a particular kobold that drops them?

There are two types of froglok ghouls on the island in the northeast corner of the zone. They are a "fetid froglok ghoul",and a "froglok ghoul". I think these talismans only drop from the regular "froglok ghoul". These are located by the wood shack on the island.

Got my talisman yesterday from a plain Groglock Ghoul (not Fetid). It took over a dozen kills till one dropped. All that's left to get now is one Talon and I have all my noob armour. Killed hundreds of Burly Kobs - nada! The Talon I have, I bought for a couple of silver. Grrr.

What drops this?

VI in all it exactness that tends to drive one crazy has not been so exact here. After hours of trying to find an amulet from an undead froglok and not finding it eventhough i had killed countless numbers of frog, i decided to try using a Undead Froglok Talisman since they were the only things dropping. Low and behold it worked.
