You say, 'Hail, Filian Weagleross'

Filian Weagleross says 'Pleased to meet you ______, I am Filian Weagleross High Priest of the glorious Rodcet Nife! I have recently taken upon some very [important duties] here in our temple so if your business is not urgent please excuse me.'

You say, 'What important duties?'

Filian Weagleross says 'My important duties are training the new recruits of our temple. It can be quite perilious for a new adventurer in our world today as I am sure you will soon find out. The Temple of Life is dedicated to ensuring that once our young ones leave our home to venture out into Norrath they are ready for whatever might present itself. If you are a [young cleric of Rodcet] then we can begin your training at once.'

You say, 'I am a young cleric of Rodcet.'

Filian Weagleross says 'Your training will be very important to your development as a Cleric of Rodcet Nife so I do hope you will remain focused at all times. Your exercises will take you all over your hunting area and our city to specific [magical items].'

You say, 'What magical items?'

Filian Weagleross says 'The magical items you need to collect will be necessary for creating your magical armor will be placed in this Prime Healers Mail Kit that will create armor materials. When you are ready to collect the items necessary for creating a piece of armor all you must do is tell me what armor piece you [want] to craft. I can present you with the recipes and armor molds for Prime Healer Initiate [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates].'

You say, 'I want to craft Boots.'

Filian Weagleross says 'To create your boot material you will need to combine 3 Bricks of Crude of Iron Ore, 1 Severed Gnoll Foot, 2 King Snake Jawbones and 1 Large Myotis Bat Wing in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Boot of the Prime Healer Initiate.'

In the instructions it says that Filian Weagleross says that you need a severed gnoll foot but up in the lists of required items it says that u need a severed orc foot...and the link states that it is the orc's foot that is required.. Which is it?????

Trinka Lou, when I got my Prime Healer Initiate Boots, it required a Severed Gnoll Foot, and it was a pretty easy item to get. They used to drop off the Blackburrow Gnolls, Qeynos Hills Gnolls, and even the Darkpaws in the North Qeynos newbie area. I got all of my Prime Healer Initiate armor about a year ago, so things may have changed -- but, I doubt that it's an Orc item. Best way to be sure is to visit Filian and ask. Verant has changed the required items for some of their newbie armor quests, before, but only when the stated quest item wasn't working. Severed Gnoll Foot worked for me, but as I said, that was about a year ago.

And I just got mine yesterday, after reading your post. Thx, Aariaz! :-) Mine dropped off the first two gopher snakes that I killed, just outside the NQ gate. Really! And some of the NQ merchants have them for sale for 5gp +. Now I've got the whole armor set, and am working on the weapon ("Delivery" quest). Has anyone found "Severed Gnoll Paws"? I've tried this with 2 "Gnoll Paw"s, and I also tried it with 2 "Severed Gnoll Foot"s -- didn't work. In fact, each try I lost ALL of the parts that I gave to Filian (Report from Malityn, Perfect Gnoll Skin, and 2 Paws/Feet), and got the traditional, "I really don't know what to do with this, but thanks, I guess.", or something like that.

Don't know about Qeynos Hills, but they drop all the time in the newbie area of North Qeynos... well not all the time, but they're not especially rare. They drop off of grass snakes and gopher snakes.

Most likely they decided that going after the higher level snakes in QH made these harder then they were intended for newbie armor, or something to that effect...

Anyway, don't get hung up on the naming convention and wonder why the jawbones aren't dropping off of king snakes. They didn't stop dropping, they just moved, and to avoid further confusion they didn't change the name of the item.

It's got to be bugged. I actually posted a 10plat bounty for ONE King Snake Jawbone, after not finding one in Qeynos Hills, Qeynos (King Snake parts drop off of gopher snakes, oddly enough), and about 8 other zones I decided to check out just for grins. No "King Snake Jawbones". The ORIGINAL recipe called for Rabid Wolf Hides, but they don't work either/anymore. I've turned in petitions, feedbacks, and bug reports to no avail. No one's listening at VI...

Nope, not bugged... you were just looking in the wrong place, they were moved to the snakes in North Qeynos. You should look more thourouhly instead of just assuming it's a bug, just becuase they're not where you assume they should be.

As it happens, when the recipe used Rabid Wolf Hides the Hides were broken and didnt drop (or the drop rate was extremly low, cos a guy I spoke to said he had gotten 1) but with the last patch they fixed the drop rate but changed the recipe to Jawbones also. Now Jawbones are broken, go figure...

Not broken, look at the two posts above. Why doesn't anybody just look a little harder or in different places before they assume SOE screwed up?!
