This quest is for evil human casters.
You say, 'Hail, Marv Orilis' Marv Orilis says 'Yes? I am a very busy man. I assist new necromancers, wizards, magicians, and enchanters that have joined the Dismal Rage. Are you a sorcerer that has [recently joined] us? You say, 'I recently joined' Marv Orilis says 'Then I welcome you to the path of rage. We sorcerers fulfill a crucial role within the Dismal Rage. Under the guidance of Opal Darkbriar, a founder of our order, we study the darkest aspects of the various sorcerous arts so that we may aid and bring power to others who follow our patron deity, Innoruuk, the Prince of Hate. If you desire I will help you obtain a suit of [protective clothing] suitable for a practitioner of the sorcerous arts. Once you have been properly outfitted, return to me and I will aid you in obtaining a [Staff of Dismal Rage].' You say, 'I want a suit of protective clothing' Marv Orilis says 'You will require this Curing Kit to craft your clothing and robe. The materials required vary depending on the article of clothing you desire to craft. Do you desire to craft a [rage sorcerer cap], [rage sorcerer wristband], [rage sorcerer gloves], [rage sorcerer boots], [rage sorcerer sleeves], [rage sorcerer pantaloons], or [rage sorcerer robe]?' You say, 'I desire to craft a rage sorcerer boots' Marv Orilis says 'To craft Rage Sorcerer Boots you require two [silk thread], gilla monster hatchling bile, and two ruined coyote pelts. I suspect that gila hatchlings only spawn one at a time in the zone from the East Freeport line to the edge of the grassy area where the guards patrol. On one occasion I picked up bile on two kills in a row. On another I killed 24 straight with no luck.
I'm about one drop for every ten kills with the young gila monster skins--which I also suspect only spawns one at a time in the desert area fairly close to the fish camp.
In my experience all the rest of the ingredients have been relatively common.
It's a mind-numbingly boring quest but the rage sorcerer line beats simple cloth underwear--well worth the effort for untwinked human necros.

You can degrade any quality pelt (such as a LQ coyote pelt) with a skinning knife. Combine the two items in a sewing kit and the pelt will be suitable. Does not work for named pelts (not any stated quality); also, skinning knives must be made by a character, they cannot be bought from a vendor. I shouted around FP and found someone to make one for me, i think it cost 5 gp.

I killed for about four hours with a tracker in N.Ro. I hunted coyotes and gila monsters exclusively ended with a lot of coyote pelts and 5 skins (plus meat).
I would guess that ruined coyote is very rare (if it drops off N.Ro coyotes) and that gila monster skin is rare.. 1 in 20 maybe.
Going to hunt steamfont for a little to see if I can get some ruined pelts.
By the way Marv Orilis is in the tunnels in Freeport East beside the necromancer spell merchants.

the ruined coyote pelts can only be found on smal coyotes in Steamfont right now. There is a gnome quest that needs plain coyoes pelts and they seem to be dropping in N Ro. Verent has a problem with the drop tables it seems. Got the Rage Socerer Sandles finally stats are AC 3 +1 to INT and AGI and +5 to Mana.

Anyone know if these are in game yet. I hunted for hours to try to get both RUINED Coyote pelts (regular, non-ruined ones don't work) and young gila monster skins and got neither. I must have killed well over 100 coyotes and 30-40 young gila monsters. All the other ingredients I got no problem. This pretty much goes for all the Rage sorcerer stuff.

I myself have yet to see a ruined coyote pelt, but young gila monster skins do exist as do gila monster hatchling skins, and gila monster skins. BUT, if you are not a HUMAN who worships Innoruuk then stop hunting. These quests are for HUMAN worshipers of INNORUUK ONLY.
