Reuben Reldnok says 'Greetings _____! I am Reuben, first Paladin of the Deep Muses. When I was just a young lad I journeyed to Kaladim, the home of our cousins the Dwarves. At the Temple of the Duke of Below I studied the ways of a Paladin of our creator Brell Serilis. I have returned to Ak'Anon to train interested young gnomes the ways I have mastered so that we may defend Ak'Anon and Brells disciples everywhere from the threats that would see us destroyed. If you are a Paladin of the Deep Muses I have some [armor quests] for you to complete.' You say, 'I want to craft a armguard' Reuben Reldnok says 'Any smart paladin knows that your arms must be well guarded in battle. How else would you be able to swing your blade in Brells name! To create your armguard material you will need to combine 3 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Ruined Coyote Pelt, 2 Bone Chips and 1 Russet Oxide in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Deep Muses Armguards.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I thought this quest was broken but it isn't. It is, however wrong in which NPC you talk to. Lewis no longer gives the quest. At the opposite end of the same room is Reuben Reldnok, another paladin GM. Hail him and then the quest as listed above works, as of 6 May 2007.

Whenever i say i want to craft an armgaurd he doesn't say anything, so it wont work.

What does it mean if you have the items but can't combine them in the box?

Or you have items stacked. Each of the 3 bricks and the 2 bone chips should be in different slots.
It means that one of the items is not the correct item.

Are these the same ground spawn points where you pick up the mossy drake scales?
Yes, russet is a ground spawn near/on/around the big sprocket sticking out of the ground near the Mino caves. Its a rare spawn and took me 3 days of looking, but I finally found it.

on Rallos server russet oxide drops from earth elementals. near the mino caves not a ground spawn
I use to grab the ground spawns for colors but I had plenty of oxides since few ever wanted these colors. Then out comes this POTC quest that used Iron Oxide and used all I had I went back looking for it, I have yet to find any on the ground. At this point I sell the Iron Oxide for 100pp on our server Eci, Most sell it for 300-500pp. If the there are still ground spawns I don't expect to find them. The demand has gone up consedrbly for this stuff. The russet is just extra I was selling it as color and then just as raw material but now With my brand new pally I will save some.:) Good luck on your searches.
That's what I'd like to know. I've picked up a stack of moss covered drake scales but haven't seen any of the iron or russet oxide. If anyone knows the location of the ground spawns, please post. Thanks.

*Bricks of Crude Bronze: dropped by Grikbar Kobolds, they have a weight of 15 so it's very heavy.
*Runed Coyote Pelts: dropped by A Coyote, I've killed a few small coyotes but didn't drop any for me.
*Bone Chips: any skellys will drop these
*Russet Oxide: this can be found along with the Iron Oxides near the mino caves where the merchant is, they are on a 12hr timer though so keep checking.

These are ground spawns near the rusty metals where the merchant in the Mino Caves is (12hr spawn), you can also killed the Steam/Earth Elementals who can drop the Oxides and other Smithing components. The elementals spawn by the Mino caves as well.
