I have three of the pieces, but need the Mark of the Naturalist. Did the Naturalist spawn in the hidden area of Twilight? Was it behind the waterfall?

Also, did you do this solo? I have already spent many hours on the other 3 pieces, just want to try to limit the remaining hours need to finish this quest.

Mark of the Naturalist drops in the Hidden area of Twilight. Just kill all the roaming Cral Ligi Warders, workers, and spiritwards (and the odd named too of course) and you'll get one eventually. Took me about 20 cycles to get one finally, but got 8-10 other rares at the same time and also cleared the elemental isle between spawns (at 61) to make some extra cash.

Ok i'm only a wee lvl 23 ranger but i'd love this axe and by no means have the money, what are my chances of running along and finding the items needed to do the quest just laying around on the corpses?

No Chance what so ever! These are all REALLY long spawns and the people that are going to kill these are only after these items. So pretty much, Give It Up! Go get something else until your like 40 or 45.

I know this is late and I don't know about the other pieces but a lot of people go to Dawnshroud for the XP and the Rockhopper hides. You could probably get the pottery and the sun jewel without having to beg. I know I let a few rot while I was there. I even have a pottery on my merchant (had room the last time it dropped and picked it up out of curiosity)

ok time to stop the buildup of useless messages about the jewels... ANY kind of jewels will random drop off of ANY kind of mob in ANY of the zones involving the Twilight quests. There is no pattern, they are RANDOM. 8) GL on your questing.

I was only going to say your comparing BUYING a weapon to QUESTING for one. This is not a bad axe at all. Its got a good ratio and its an either melee. You forget, when you buy a weapon, someone quested for it. I am sure there is better, but there is also much worse. And besides it looks cool. :) - ummm I posted before I saw the +9 bonus. This weapon is FAR from sucky.

Rangers do get 2x damage and such, just not at low lvls. Once you get to lvl 51 rangers get a double damage on every shot with bow when the mob is standing still, but not due to root type spells. Its very nice, I can remove myself from the melee combat and do almost as much damage with my bow. This also gives the clerics one less tank to waste mana on. Keep working on your archery, it will pay off at later levels.

I looted one of these in Scarlet Desert off of a tainted/corrupted lightcrawler right near the zone of Twilight Sea. It was quite some time ago, so I'm hoping my memory serves me. Didn't know what it was for at the time.

Ok I have the Sambata Potters piece..looooooong camp in the bottom of the Sambata caves in Dawnshroud. I have the fossilized skull from Meeda Hune Archeologist in tenebrous, another long camp (way too many PH's), and I am currently on my 9th (NINTH) night in Twilight Sea camping the Cral Ligi Naturalist for the Mark. Does ANYONE know who/where/what the place holder is for Naturalist?? I have killed so many lil aliens it hurts to look at them. Some kind of clue would help ALOT. Please post if you KNOW PH and location in TS.

I've been looking for him too. My only suggestion is to kill others of his kind. I have gotten the other rares to spawn by killing others of there kind in this place.

I got a strong feeling that this axe is going to be a 8/22 or 7/22 with stats, like the Ranger's PoF Axe, Fluxbladed Axe. Just a guess. I just hit 56 and I'm omw back to Luclin to do my Woodman's Greaves (no guild = no velious armor = I'm still wearing Ivy Etched Legs) and Axe (I got 5 weapons in my pack, Jagged Blade of Mourning, CSS, Flux Axe, and Praetor's Blade of Debility, I'll just do this one for fun I guess).

These quests seem to be better and harder than ivy, I have been to most of the zones where stuff drops for these items and if your not 45 you better be in a good group to kill mobs or expect a long recover time, that is to get the more rare items. im 52 and i can solo ok but not the best, these mobs are tough as velious and kunark mobs, at least it seams that way hehe oh well good luck and im still wearing some ivy hehe

i just looted a wondrous stone (for cape quest) off 'a sturdy sea turtle'. it hit for max 95 or so but wasn't too dangerous with snare/fear animal. i also looted some sea grass off a scavenger twilight minnow. does anyone know where to get a mark of creatures and/or a marble statuette?

the jewels are random drops off mobs across luclin i believe. Maybe it has something to do with the time of day or the zone the mob is killed in? i have gotten two sky jewels so far, but that is it. I have also got a lot of marks. They drop off named mobs. The mobs will be the same type as the normal but have a different word in front of it. such as the twilight sea turtles. i have killed 'a feral twilight sea turtle' and some other kind too. i also have killed 'an enraged kelniak' or whatever those weird dog things are in dawnshroud peaks.
What i dont know is where to get the other miscellaneous items. anyone know? i need the greaves quest!

Just thought I would try to inform some peeps about an item for this quest. Had a Sun Jewel drop off of a fungus mushroom in Dawnshroud Peaks. It identifies as a....you guessed it.... Sun Jewel.

BTW these little buggers are AWESOME xp for 31-33. They were giving me about 3/4 to 1 blue solo =) Kinda downhill after about 33 though... =( Just watch out for that first patch on the left when you come out of Netherbain Lair. The ones past that by the pond were ALWAYS blue to me (some were a wht con at 31 though)

i'm not sure if the armor will be as good as the velious armor. I have gotten a few of the quests items from around level 40ish mobs, but not enough to complete a quest yet. i think it will be better than ivy, but not as good as kunark or velious armor. Just my hypothesis...

That's fine with me. Between Ivy/Rygorr and Velious/Planar is a void that needs to be filled. Unless you can afford to buy something better like a Barbed Ringmail Tunic (around 8kpp on EMarr), you're going to be wearing a mix of Ivy/Rygorr for a long long time.

The stats on this axe are nice for a quest item, But i think that the mid range armor for rangers between doing ivy etched and and some of the higher end raid/quest item armors is rygorr. Every piece has solid stats and a very nice armor class. This axe is on par with the centi SS that has a dmg12 del24 str5 sta5. i just wish they had lowered the delay. Most ranger only weapons are know for having some of the lowest delays availible to a melee class. (don't flame me thats why i said some of the lowest) But i can more than loive with the del 29 due to the overall bonus stats this axe gives.

this quest reminds me of the ranger velious armor quests (Runed Scout's - Coldain, Forest Stalker's - Giant)for which were required certain jewels and corroded chainmail etc. the rewards included a 48 ac BP with stats and effect: Call of Earth, i doubt these quests will be equivalent to Ivy, these will most likely be harder to complete and greater in rewards than the vel quests.

I'm pretty sure these "Twilight Armor" quests are the Luclin equivalent to the original EQ armor quests. In other words, I'm sure the Ranger Twilight Armor is about the same as Ivy Etched. But it would be really awesome if it was better than Ivy Etched, and almost as good as Tolan's (Kunark armor). So then I can maybe sell my Ivy Etch legs finally...

Ahh well, we shall wait and see.

I think we should start looking at this a bit more litterally as far as the drops. I mean "DAWNshroud Peaks" and you find the "SUNjewel". Kinda cool. I wonder if there will be a pattern.

Well... seeing as how "Tenebrous" means dark and murky, you might be on to something.

Although, I have seen several meteor jewels drop in DAWNshroud Peaks. ;)

While I can only guess, it looks like these quests are going to be fairly high level. The mention of the jewels in the various armour quest components reminds me of the Ivy Etched quests, so maybe they'll be about 30th level to complete - sort of like a step on the way to the Velious and Kunark armours?

Or maybe theyre Luclin's equivalent to the other expansions special armour types... or maybe I'm just guessing randomly and these are actually just some semi-decent low teens armour and weapons :-)

Can't wait to find out anyway,,,

Hey Einstein, nobody could possibly have completed the quest yet, as *gasp* the zones where the items for this drop aren't even released yet (yes, I know, as I'm typing this servers are back up and the first people are setting foot on the moon so technically they are already released). Hence, nobody can know the stats yet.
