Tides of Time Overview

To get this Heroic Adventure, you need to right click the Repaired Key of Frost from completing the Broken Key of Frost task.

Click on the door on the fourth floor once you have the task.

You have entered Tides of Time: A Time to Turn.

The Repaired Key of Frost allows you to explore the tower Tides of Time. The challenge Oasis of Frost hides murderous rogues that haunt the tower. Defeat them and help return warmth to the tower.

This is the 120+ edition of this heroic adventure.

  • 1. Wake up the frozen undead 0/1 Tides of Time

Once you zone in, it puts you into the same zone as the tower at the bottom. Go up to the fourth floor, you'll see an open door. The teleport pads don't exist so you'll need to walk all the way up the spiral stairs to the fourth floor open door.

There are several undead on the floor of the room, IVU (invis versus undead) yourself and go inside in the corner of the room.

Loot one of the torches on the floor and then walk over to the undead on the floor near the door. One will aggro, bring it to the corner of the room and kill it.

  • 2. Kill the undead zombies 0/3 Tides of Time

  • 3. Wake up the frozen undead 0/1 Tides of Time

Same thing, walk over the undead.

  • 4. Kill the undead ghouls 0/2 Tides of Time

  • 5. Wake up the undead guardians 0/1 Tides of Time

At this point you may need to loot another torch and then go over to the guardians. They will both attack you but if you run to the corner of the room, they leash and deaggro.

I then was able to pull one of them about halfway across the room without the other coming.

  • 6. Kill the undead guardians 0/2 Tides of Time

  • 7. Kill Undead Basil 0/1 Tides of Time

The giant doesn't have that many hit points and doesn't hit too hard. It's slowable.

Now that the shrouds are back I shrouded my lvl 100 mage to level 5 and joined my lvl 2 mage and did all 6 (the ones available at the time of this post) no problem. The bosses were all lvl 8 and gave 236k (yes thats 236,000) xp to the shrouded mage.

And on a different character I entered and picked up the torch and nothing happened. I ran all over the room and no flames around the character. I destroyed it and grabbed another. Nothing. Zoned in and out. Nope. Logged out and in. Nada. Quit the mission and reselected it. BZZZZZZZ! Have to wait an hour to find out due to cooldown.

Different from the above, maybe cuz vastly different eras.

Only one toon of 6 had done the task. We all zoned in, he clicked the key and nothing happened. We had to run up and click the door to the 4th floor mission room, all 6 of us. Then we zoned into the fight room.

We had been cautious to have all toons with Sunskin but one didn't stick bec too many buffs. He didn't aggro anything. They won't aggro until you pick up the torch, anyway.

The leashing experience was the same.

You pick up a torch and then just run "over" the mobs lying on the ground. No clicking, no turn-ins nothing. Eventually you get a message that you've woken them up and they aggro a couple seconds after. Sometimes one, sometimes two.

The boss was pretty easy on Agnarr. His max hit even on silk-wearing casters was 1329. He does cast or proc an aoe, like all these Tower bosses it seems, called Gut Punch. No big deal.

I thought the mobs would get tougher as we go UP the Tower but this one seems easier.

So, just did this, and a couple of notes - first, when we zoned in, we were right in the 4th floor room, there was no running up the stairs. So, have your IVU on before you click in. Though it may not be necessary - although you might be close enough to aggro one of the mobs, they're on a pretty short leash - we found if we tried to pull them any distance from where they were, they'd warp back to their starting point within a few seconds. You will likely have to pick up a new torch after each "wave", but it respawns in the same place, just to the right of the entry door, immediately, so that's easy. The first mobs, the undead "zombies" (they are physically zombies, but aren't labeled so - first we had a wave of two (they come together) of an undead bandit and an undead shaman, then a second wave of undead brawler and undead thief. They are individually pullable with monk Echo and jump pull, though again, if you try pull them too far, they warp back, and with two dps (a monk and a ranger, both 115) and two healer mercs up, they were easy kills, we ended up just fighting both at the same time each set - they spawned at equal to our level. Second phase is the two undead guardians - they're giant wolves, and they're far enough apart that you can walk over to just one at a time. And they were two levels below us, and they went down fast. The boss spawned at two levels above us, and was still a quick and easy fight. None of them hit hard - at our level the first wave mobs were hitting for about 7-8000, the second wave about 6-7000, and Basil hits for around 10-11000 (though he snuck in an occasional strikethrough for about 30000).
