Even a level one can do this if you know the way to Qeynos. Its just a run away, head left from halas ramp to 3 guards, turn right (south) and go to the next entrance to the canyons, keep the wall on your left. A bit down you'll take a left turn and follow that to BB. Run inside past potentially 4 gnolls and your in BB. Head out the other side and in Qhills go left along the zone. Eventually you'll get to a path, take it right and at the stone plinth go left. Poof your in north qeynos. Just head to South qeynos bank and give the poster to the guard inside.

If you don't have gate yet when you do this make like a warrior. Bank everything, especially what you get from the guard!, and attack him. One Loading, Please Wait and your back home to collect your reward. Well worth the trouble.

And watch out for those Vengfuls!!

This is one of the easiest and fastest quests I have done in months. The quest is well explained in the description. Read it through carefully and you should never have a question. No faction is needed(wonderful). I performed this quest in 11 minutes, no sow, but I used gate from Qeynos(was level 5 at the time). I would guess it would only take 25 minutes for a 1st level character to complete the quest. Just ask someone passing by to kill the guards at the Everfrost zone if you are to low to run past them.
Inside BB is even easier since there are so many people hunting in there, if troubled, once again ask the zone to clear the path and you will find people more than happy to kill a gnoll on your behalf. Then after BB you are home free. Repeat the previous actions to return if you don't have Gate. A 6/32 weapon is very nice for any non twink player(I still have a 5/32staff at level 8). It should last you until atleast 10th level, which allows you to save money for other things, like spells. Also, every time you run by any noob area, just hand out free Hammers and you will make friends faster than you can cast the spell.

Chanter pets can actually equip a second weapon, assuming the pet is high enough level to dual wield.

The AI of the game sometimes makes odd decisions about which weapons(s) to have a pet wield if there are multiple available accoutrements, but frequently you can see chanter pets which consist of two weapons (rather than a weapon and a shield).

If you give a chanter pet a second weapon and he doesn't equip it, it's either because 1) the pet has not acquired dual wield ability [too low level], or 2) the game chose to use the default shield over the weapon.

Incidentally, giving a pet a weapon does have a concrete advantage -- it increases the chance that the pet will hit for its maximum possible damage. This is not merely a rumor, but was confirmed by Abashi (during his tenure as public relations manager). Any pet that is capable of equipping a weapon stands to benefit from doing so, regardless of the weapon's actual stats.

This was the most exciting fun I've had as a newbie! I completed this quest as a lvl 1 and the prize is awesome! I downloaded all the maps from EQatlas of Everfrost, Blackburrow, Qeynos Hills, and Qeynos. For Blackburrow, download all 3 maps to be safe-a lesson I learned the hard way, I only had the top map. I got an SOW and ran non-stop to Blackburrow. Don't stop to fight anywhere on this quest at lvl 1! Do this only in DAYLIGHT!!! I was too impatient and did it at night. When I entered Blackburrow I plunged right into the pit! Had I done this in daylight, I'd have shot right over into Qey Hills, but . . . Wherever I was, all hell broke loose! There were adventurers fighting everywhere! Without a torch, and no map-duh-I stumbled around in the dark trying to stay alive and not upset any gnolls. Finally a great adventurer named Traffic guided me up and out at the Qey exit. I was hit by gnoll guards as I exited, but made it! Then I ran all the way to Qey. The return trip (on another sow) was in daylight. I scooted around the top of the pit and shot out the Everfrost exit with gnolls on my butt! Upon entering Everfrost, every mob chased me all the way to the guards! I couldn't believe I did it and didn't die!!! (the best part of doing this is u have nothing to lose at lvl 1 if u die!) I gave the item to Jinkus and recieved the necklace that raised my mana, my WIS, my AC-I think- and when u left click on it u get an endless supply of magical hammers! AND the necklace is a glowing torch at night leaving your hands free for melee and shields! What a terrific way to start as a newbie! What a rush to do that and not die along the way-THX to TRAFFIC! If anyone sees him in Qey, tell him Thx!!!!

I hand the poster to the bank guard and I do NOT receive anything from him. I can NOT complete the quest. What's the deal?

How do I improve my faction with the banker?

The text line for Cindl is "What mammoth hide parchment?", and it is true that you have to be on the same side of the counter as her. You can tell this by trying to hail her for quests from the other side. As far as hailing Jinkus to start the quest, you don't need to. Just gather the ink and parchment from Greta and Cindl (respectively) and hand them to Jinkus. I found tho, that this doesn't work for a 1st or 2nd level shaman... seems you have to level a couple of times first. For those of you thinking of combining this quest with going postal, try gathering the mail in Halas, then the mail in Surefall, then the mail in WK at barb fishing village. Take all three to Qeynos at once. You can also start the langseax and clover leaf shipment at the same time. Just tell the girl inside on the right of the magic jar (?) that Jinkus sent you. She will give you a letter to give to Ulrich McMannus. All these quests together really make the trip to Qeynos worthwhile. Sometimesw you get a bronze weapon for doing the clover leaf shipment )

Margyn McCann asks if you are a [young shaman] or a [sittin' member of the court]. Replying that you are a young shaman gets you the Granin O'Gill quest and saying you are a member of the court gets you the reply that "there are no heretics to hunt down right now." That's a 13 level shaman who is considered warmly.

Could this be a lead-in to the next quest? If so it would indicate the quest is not in place or it is level dependent.

what do you say to Jinkus to get him to talk about the quest? I hail him and all I get is something about a delivery..

No NO DROP weapons can be wielded by pets. I have tried this on several occasions.
