Genitor means they are female, thus the eggs, and some may say their cranky disposition. Their teritorial behavoir would be to protect their eggs. I hunted them from levels 35 to 40 and never saw one as an even con. At level 40 all the basilisks conned light blue. Good hunting to you.
Where the hell are these guys?

I had the same trouble, the're are actually incredibly easy to find.

They are located in the giant cave network on the westside of the map (north of the Brell temple). If you port in from Blackburrow, you will be right next to it.

The LOC to the entrance of the cave is approx: NEG 675, POS 2145

Once inside, the LOC to the Genitor's cave network is approx : NEG 225, POS 3140

Note: You'll already be inside the caves if you come from Blackburrow or Nedaria's Landing.

Hope this helps.

yje other basilisks will not agro unless you attack them these will agro if you get near them.

these have slightly less hp then the regular basilisks like 1200 instead of the regular ones which have1400 or 1500. bu the stun can be nasty seems like they can get two or three in a row sometimes and keep wou stunned for seven or eith seconds.
Proc

Since I do not see it posted here yet, I will add something. These guys appear to proc a nasty little stun called stonebreath(not sure of exact name as it has been a while). The regular basilisks in this cave do not have this proc.

high 30s mage coming back here, its SOOOO sweet to kill these things. im going to turn their eggs into pies and eat them while they die to **** them off.

I don't know what the minimum level for the Genitors is, but at 36 and 37, I can track the whole of the caves with the Anchorite Gnolls and Oracle Jaarl... I have never seen any of the Basilisks or Genitors /con anything other than dark blue.... I also want to say that I never saw anything but blue at 35, but I don't remember for sure.
Hope this helps,
In Tunare,

I've been hunting the baslisks since 38. I'm 39th almost 40th. I've killed a number of genitors for the eggs and the exp. I've yet to see an even con. I'd figure that they must be between 32 and 37, since they've been dark blue since I started down here.

When I encountered a cave basilisk genitor in first time, it was con blue and even from 31 cleric. It looks like KoS version of a cave basilisk with same lvl range.

I agree, I've never seen anything but dark blues since I started here with my necro at 37. Also, since I use the exact same spells to kill both the basilisks and the genitors (with some minor variation to take pet damage into account), I can tell there is no difference in their HP range at all, which there would be if the genitors were higher level. As far as I can tell, the genitor is just like a normal basilisk, except KOS and has a chance to drop a random amount of eggs (I've gotten as many as eight and as few as none). They're not any rarer than the normal basilisks either, it seems that each spawn point has a 50/50 chance to spawn a normal basilisk or a genitor.

Anyway, I started this camp as a 37 necro, and the exp per kill isn't superb, not much loot either, but very steady and very easy, not to mention a nice change from the same old zones. Buff pet, pull with Dooming Darkness, send pet, Invoke Fear, Venom of the Snake, Vampiric Curse, sit and med. Dead basilisk. Can keep Call of Bones up nonstop this way as an Iksar... I actually get a net gain of HP per kill assuming they don't hit me. Other races may have to throw in a lifetap to keep up with CoB HP drain, but will also get more XP per kill.

Basilisks are no higher than 34. Came here with my 34 Shadow Knight and never had anything higher than an even con. All were dark blue at 35.

My Druid is currently 32 and I am hunting the Basilisks. I have never seen a blue genitor, but I have seen evens cons. So, the minimum level is at least 32.
