While taking a break from hunting Zed Sticklebush for the burnoose, I hunt these nice and rich mobs. The last couple I have hunted have dropped plant shoots(with the tradeskill tag) and Potameid hair(with out the tradeskill tag). Very rarely, they drop a gem.

There is was at least on, farther back taht is able. I don't know how many. I just know cause I was invised and attacked. It wasn't named I don't think, but it was a caster I'm pretty sure.

They do not see through invisible. I've never encountered one of the named ones though, so can't speak about them.
Level?

ALL the maidens that swim the streem have conned LIGHT blue to my 52 mage, and all guardians and wildlings have conned blue, so I think the levels on the initial page might be wrong.

Think someone trained one on me by accident while I was hunting poachers. I'm a 51 Druid. After a few fails on root and snare I gave up. Starfire was not fast enough to get them proficiently.I just ran around and used drifting death on them till dead.
They dont seem to run too fast.

If you wander too close to the river, they will come out and start wacking you. They also wander the banks from time to time.
candy

These things are candy for beastlords, soon as you hit 49 and get a new pet you just get handed exp as fast as you can ask for it on these. My Beast only needs to throw a pet out with quickness and spirit on and sit down and watch my pet beat them up throwing in ice shard every 30 seconds to kill them faster. Can mantain mana used during a fight without much of a problem. Sometimes you can get multiples though and if you have more then 2 they tear through your pet so if you want to save mana you can try and hate kite them but they can kill you in a hit if they catch you so only recomend as last option. Also dont hang out in the water they seems to always tear me up if i am in the water long with them.

One of the best beast solos for low 50s
Slow down!
# Sep 20 2002 at 11:41 AM Rating: Good
Greetings,
Seriously. I go fishing for these things with my shaman (52, ogre) frequently. I stand near the stream or wander it's edge. Guardians (see note on them below), wildings and maidens all roam the full length of the stream, and they aggro almost bank to bank. Once one aggros I run back to where I have my fully buffed pet parked, drop a turgur's insects on the fish and watch the pounding. Usually only takes 1 heal on the pet and dead wilding or maiden. Guardians are a slightly different matter, as they are immune to slows. On these I just pop in a nice DoT (sometimes 2) and keep an eye on the pet, and melee a little. They don't have the hp to stand real long.

I have run-ins with these potameids every now and then, I don't go hunting for them. I usually get one as an add while killing poachers. I pull to the stones to be safer. Do potameids wander a lot or are they probably leftovers from a train or something?

Generally I keep gate memmed on the occassion I get these evil creatures as adds. Thanks for the info on what they're immune and what they aren't immune to. I'll probably be able to stay and fight next time.

My first encounter I could neither slow nor root the two my ranger friend aggroed. I sat down and memmed gate quickly and just after she died I cast it a couple times to get the heck out of there with two potameids beating on me. I know it was kinda wimpy of me, but I thought they were immune to all my magic.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 03 2002 at 8:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) michelde. you say you're 49... but your info at the bottom of your posts says 50... now, that is one heck of a typo... what are ye? hehe

I bet it means he was 49 during the encounter with the potameids, but dinged 50 before coming to post. Wasn't hard to figure out Xaderth.

Actually, this information is from the signature page and is curiously updated for all past messages. So as I write this my signature says I'm lvl 49, but when I ding and update my signature to say Lvl 50 then this message will change, so the signature and my text will forever drift apart. I wonder how some of my old message might sound, lvl 10'ish concerns with a signature of a Lvl49 ranger...gets weird. I think (we) should change our signature to not have the level in it, else the obvious confusion as time goes by. (Signature is on the Accounts page for registered users).

potamids encounter
# Aug 01 2002 at 10:33 AM Rating: Decent
Im a druid lvl 49, me, a bard lvl 54 and another character lvl 51 went in water at the end of zone and aggroed 2 potamids. They cannot be rooted or stunned. We killed them but at one moment i was badly injured due to the effect of surprise. They are not to be taken lightly.
heh immune this
# Jul 27 2002 at 5:19 PM Rating: Decent
heh.. but not immuned to a crit blast for 7k with manaburn baby
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 10 2002 at 4:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if you did a 'crit' for 7k ... thats horrible. 7k would be just a decent regular manaburn for a well equipped wizard. critting for 7k is horrible.
