I had to wait 2 days for Camin to spawn, another day for Challice to spawn and now i am waiting on this gnome to spawn-- if it weren't for the spawns not being there, i woudl have finished this epic a week ago. what gives???

this quest is no longer broke i turned in my green oil & got the note & the staff on july 14th 06`this little gnome comes & goes though he was'nt up the 2nd round i went to him to turn in the oil so i went to bed & when i got up he was there lol.

Anyone know how long he stays up for, or is that random? Checked for him 6 hours after 2.5 day mark and he wasn't there.

Did the kandin firepot part to day and he was up at this location - 1491 + 2843 If you look at your map its the dwarf camp south of the docs almost in the southwest corner of the zone. I turned in the note and got back the sprocket =)

This guy is on a 72 hour timer, his timer starts when the server you're on is reset.
I found him today (10-27-2004) at Dwarf camp loc -1495 +2839

I did my turn in to the dumb little gnome and he ate my item and said he wouldnt help beings like me. So I petitioned and had my green oil returned but Im reluctant to try it again in fear of losing my oil a second time. He is on True Spirit faction and I can't find any way a wizard can fix their faction with this guy. If anyone knows a way to fix faction with these guys as a wizard it would be greatly appreciated.

What race are you? You could try having a enchanter turn you into a gnome if you aren't one. Not sure if it would work, but would be worth a try.
I'm guessing here but ... Could you do steps of the shaman epic to raise faction with true spirit? for example kill the 2 npc in lake rathe or collect the 6 drops from CoM would be easy.

little bugger wasnt at the docks, and I didnt think much of it as I read he was on a three day spawn.
I came back here and found out that he spawns in the dwarf camp... Guess what. He was there 2.5 days after the server reset. I didnt check the camp b4 that time so he could have been there for a day or so... Who knows. HE was not there or on the docks b4 the reset, and that was 2.5 days after a previous patch.. so I have no idea what kinda spawn rate he is on.

He ate my oil a few days ago. Contacted the GMs, they said it was a known issue, and they gave me the staff and note.
Took all three staves to Arantir, and he ate them all. Contacted the GMs again, and they gave me my epic.

God, I'm glad you had the same problem. I gave up on my epic, and tonight a group went to fear for the bard piece...Golem was up. Killed him, looted the oil and turned it in. SoB ate it and said he wouldn't help beings like me...and i'm a Gnome. Petitioned, and then came here. Hoping I'll get mine returned or the rewards for turn in. Now, just hoping that final turn in mob isn't bugged, too.

Ok this guy was taken down for some updates back in jan. or so he is up and working fine. though eq has nurfed him. he randomly despawns and respawns.(was informed by a gm) though i think i have got his spawn time worked out when the server comes down for updates it takes him 3 days to spawn back up i hope that helps. wizzie got her epic on the 7th of may woot.

Thanks to poster who said he was at the aqua goblin camp... I found him there also... I had spent considerable time waiting for him to spawn at the docks. Good luck to you all :)
(The camp is not far from the dock area on the left as you face the water. He was near the second set of huts)

Very not broken as of today at least. Got my staff off the gnome, and while i am somewhat distressed that my stick has a skull on it, i'll b using it till i get VS killed

I am writing to inform you all that Kandin is still broken. Guildy of mine handed in his oil after just getting it in PoF and he ate it. Now he's waiting for GM response. Also reports of Arantir eating the 3 staffs. OMG Wizzies can't win.

He finally spawned on The Nameless yesterday, and when i conned him, he was apprehensive to me. Tried to talk to him and ask him about the oil but he told me to get lost. Then i realised i shoulda handed in the note from Arantir... did that.. and when i said "what oil" he gave me the sprocket.
I already have my green oil so i took a risk (A Big One) at handing in my green oil while he still conned apprehensive and voila!!! .. got my Staff :)
So... only sucky thing i guess is his spawn time and other then that... guess there's no bug...
Oh and by the way... no, he doesn't despawn after handing in.

I have been checking the loc given in previous messages and have yet to see him.

erm... lol... those "dwarfs" are actually gnomes... but bah.. i can't tell them apart at times if not for their beards.. ;p

Man this guy is a HUGE buzzkill. It took me 65 levels to actually get a shot at the BG and then after I got my Green oil I figured that I would run down to BB and do a quick turn in and complete my epic here in like 10 minutes total...nope! This guy is apparently happy being, well being not up. Also I now find out that with LoY coming out they messed up the faction on the turn ins again so it looks like I am going to have to do a turn in via GM :(

Does anyone know if Kandin despawns after oil turn in? I've been camping him for 10 days now and he still hasn't spawned for me. I've been sharing this camp with several other wizzies looking to either turn in the oil or get the sprocket from him. I'm just curious if he despawns and you have to wait another 3 or 4 days before he comes back again. When I got the sprocket from him he didn't despawn. /shrug
It took 4 Days for the clown to pop for me so i could do my Green Oil turn in. After numerous /petitions asking when Kandin would spawn, or if he was removed from the game, i finally see him up on track, go over hand em the oil. Can u guess what happened when i turned it in? Yes , he ate the oil and told me to basically get lost. I went thru the frickin' roof. So all you wizzy's out there thinking about doing the green oil part, get your /petitions ready , because this clown eats oils all day long. This obviously isnt a new problem either, this has been going on for sometime now. Why SoE doesnt fix this problem, makes ones mind boggle, after all this is an epic turn , hello... So moral of the story , be prepared for a big let down with this part of the wiz epic....Ive petitioned and am still waiting for a GM to reimburse me for my oil..../rant off

The wizard epic is totally faction driven. While you remain apprehensive throughout the quest, each step raises faction enough for the next NPC to talk to you - I have my epic on my wiz and I tested all of this as I was doing the quest earlier this year. You cannot skip any step (unless you do other faction raising elsewhere) else Kandin will not give you the sprocket and will eat the oil.
Kandin accepts the oil at the same faction level as he gives you the sprocket as you can do nothing in between to raise Truespirit faction, at least not as part of the epic quest 'story'. Did he give *you* the sprocket? Will he still give you a sprocket?
He takes about three days to spawn from server up, as do most of the epic NPCs. I got my green oil the night of a server up after a patch and had to wait and wait for him to spawn, but I also needed Camin, Challice, Solmen etc etc and they all have 2-3 day respawns on server up as well.

Went over to his spawn point today to give him the green oil, very excited about doing so btw, since it was my final epic piece i had recently gotten, only to find that he is nowhere to be found.. Brought in my ranger in the hopes of catching him on track, wasnt on track either. The only conclusion i can come to is maybe somebody killed him, and he has an incredibly long spawn time, have been checking on him for hours. Or the his spawn is bugged? Anyone else having problems finding this guy?

Must still be bugged. I tried to hail him today and he basically cussed me out. I have already had Truespirit faction reset by a GM once... hate to petition again, but it looks like I'll have to. Need the gears to do the Fear takedown... *sigh* This damn stick better be worth it.
