I killed him once and he dropped: a book of wizardry, dark gem, hope diamond, loop of energy, mark of explosion, small magnifying lens, and water idol. Kinda disappointed they aren't all linked.
So does he, like spontaneously combust when you kill him? That'd be kind of cool, are there any mobs that do that?

Drops lore, magic item called Explosive Dust. Also has some sort of nuke that hurts a lot.
Explosive Dust is for the wizard Twilight Sea quest for the Cap of Detonation.
