Unlike the other bats in the zone, this one can be rooted and snared. Still DB to my 57 Ranger. For a named he seems fairly common, ive killed him 6 times over the last few months and i only go to TM for acrylia ore when needed or the runner pouch. Never got the cloak, only wings. Otherwise he gives some xp, and at 57 is fairly easy just root, rot, arrows, melee at 30% or so. He quits when hes under 20%.
52 ranger here killed Skyshadow yesterday (March 09 2004). I just rooted and pincushioned then meleed when he hit 30%. Still took me down to 78% but I had no buffs except SoW. Maximum hit was for 93 damage, other hits were mostly low 20's with the odd 40 to 60 hit. Has about 4800 - 5000 HP. Root never failed and lasted for the full spell duration. Also can be snared and feared. When he (or she...) finally bit the dust I eagerly moved in to loot the named mob..... and got a whole A Darkwing Bat Wing. Can't even use that as a reagent for my lev spell hehe. Kind of disappointed at the loot since I don't often get to solo a named that will give me xp, but what the hey, I got some xp out of it and it was fun to do a named.
I was pulling sonic wolves and bats near the TM/ GF tunnel to zone when I saw this bat pop close to me. He conned dark blue to me at 47 and had a lot more hit points than the rest of the stuff in the zone. Between my pet and my nukes he went down pretty easy, I couldnt get any dots off cuz I was tanking it and relied on DD and melee. I tried to root it and got the " can't be rooted" message but I saw another posting here saying they could do it. /shrug.
loc of spawn pop was n800 n950 I saw where he popped and took /loc after the fight. Nothing dropped off it but it was fun fight after the ease of the sonics etc.
I checked my track as soon as I entered Tenebrous as I always do since I have seen the Grimling Runner just wandering around before waiting to be killed and I saw this named bat. He con'd blue to me at 54 so I figured what the hell. I was still invis from the run thru grimling and when I spotted Skyshadow the first thing I noticed was that he was indiff to me. He doesn't see thru invis like most of the mobs in TM. So I figured I'd try to snare him and see if I could since I still had Egress loaded anyway. Snare stuck! So did root! Most mobs in TM can't have their speed altered (no snare/root). So I rooted the bat and laid a couple dots on him and after refreshing both once he went down. Unfortunately, he decided to drop nothing for me. But if you see him remember that he CAN be snared/rooted so use that to your advantage.
not too bad for a low to mid 40 mob. will fetch a good price when i down the cake boy. I use acryla stud cloak with 10 wis so there is better out there. luthir 51 druid Vallon Zek server
I was pulling dire sonic wolves near the Katta entrance in Tenebrous Mountains when I saw the named bat Skyshadow flutter by. It looked just like any of the darkwing bats; when I conned him he was dubious unlike the scowling darkwing bats. Since he was dark blue and I had no idea if it was rare, I snagged him. As a 45 paladin with moderate equipment (non-twinked), Skyshadow quickly went through the majority of my hit points without taking much of a dent from me. Anything that goes through me that fast is not worth rooting and healing or Laying Hands to stick it out, so I rooted and ran.
Just tried to take him down - Bonds of Force and Immobilize did stick on him, and I did 3050 dmg with Conflagration when I noticed my mana was going down faster than its HP were - he still had 2 bubs left when I gated to safety, so my guess is around 5K hp.
I was camping the runner with a shaman friend earlier tonight. I am a 41 warrior, he was level 39. I was pulling stuff while we waited, and noticed this guy. He conned yellow, and I figured we could take him down. I pulled him, and the shaman DoTed a little too soon and got aggro. I couldn't get it back and the shaman fell rather quickly. I knew I could not kill this by myself and ran to the zone. He hits for 101 max. Usually hits in the 80s. I hope this has been some help to you.

I was running through Tenebrous Mountains the otherday and saw not one, but 3 on track. They all conned even at 42. There were just to many dire sonic wolves for me to attemped taking him down. Another opertunaty lost. Oh well, thus is the way of the world.
