Has anyone seen the Tailfang's Tail since last reported in 2003 ? Have killed him maybe 11 times now, but haven't dropped a thing. =/

I just found and killed tailfang and his tail dropped on bristlebane. killed him with my 36 ikky beastlord. got the dagger for the turn in. so the quest still works. hope this helps and good hunting

I have seen this guy twice before at lower levels but now I want the dagger for my lvl 7 Vah Shir rogue. I've run around in the pit for more than hour looking for him and can't find him anyone know of a sure place to look or not for that matter?

Ihave been down in the pit trying to complete my newbie kittys first quest since december 2003, its now january 15th, i spent 8 hours a day down there. i have seen and killed Tailfang 21 times now he does not drop any kind of proof to give the guard i think he is nerfed. but can get no answers from the GM's :(
I have had the oppertunity to kill this bugger a few times the 1st time I saw him I was allready enguaged in a fight and he passd by every other time I just killed him he id poison me a time or two but that ran its course quick enough. I had no Idea he was so rare or Dangerous O_o I only learned about him a few days ago luckly I learned early on to keep everything. I have baggs full of Lor no drop stuff in the bank.

I went to the pit with a lvl 4 WAR w/a lvl 3 SHM in my group,and we killed Tailfang.But i couldn't check for loot because I was down to 12% and poisoned.the shammy kept me alive,although I did go unconcious twice.Other than that,I let the corpse decay.At least my character didn't die.Good thing shammies know healing spells! The shammy's name was Zunl,and I gave him a gold.
Anyone know if he still drops his tail? Have killed him 6 times and nada on FV. And he was dk bl so the trivial loot code wouldn't have been an issue.
I dunno.. i guess im a bit twinked because i took him out both times that i seen him, cause i wanted the daggar.. but he dropped nothing, which made me sad... i killed him at level 3 he took maybe half my hp, if that. I dont know about the summoning... i kept on him so i guess he really didnt have to summon me. *shrugs*

I dunno.. i guess im a bit twinked because i took him out both times that i seen him, cause i wanted the daggar.. but he dropped nothing, which made me sad... i killed him at level 3 he took maybe half my hp, if that. I dont know about the summoning... i kept on him so i guess he really didnt have to summon me. *shrugs*

One day I was hunting in the pit when darn Tailfang got me.Then I went back at lvl 6 with a newker for backup.Tailfang attacked my newker,and newker and I killed him.The newker was lvl 7,so I wasn't surprised until I got that weapon Scorpiallis.Now I want to get Dual weild.

I was running around, helping the n00bs, and I saw another scorpion that needed squishing. I wasn't even using my warder - just casting some Sicken spells to build conjuration - and I tagged Tailfang. Knew something had to be different when the 'tag' didn't take him out after a couple of ticks. Bad boy decided to run away pretty quickly. Ten seconds later - I am summoned across the zone to the Tailfang who barely had 25% of his life. My DoT kicks in and he is off and running once more. Another 10 seconds later and BAM - summoned again. This cycle repeated until I gave up and 1hit the little bugger. Was mostly crackin-up that a level 5 mob was able to summon my level 54 **** =)

When soloing with a bored Vah Shir Shaman alt I accidently aggro'd this guy, and he chain-summoned me while running to the guards. There seems to be a pathing problem with him, too, which won't allow him to go up to the bridge, where the guards are. Just go to the guard that gives you the quest involving his tail and he'll kill it, seeing as he's under the bridge.
Still scared me. Never expected to be summoned by a level 3 mob....

Yup, I can confirm that. Was running my lvl 4 warrior twink around gathering components for his newbie quest so I could get his bit for the Sonic Wolf Bane weapons quest when this little bugger aggroed me. I had SoW so I ran for my friend's 52 Beastlord figuring it'd be easier to let her kill it than die and have to rezone.. well, the little yellow twerp starts summoning me and I'm dumbfounded as I thought only lvl 50+ MoBs summoned...

While I was looking for some hoppers and saw this guy..I am lvl 7 BL took him out. Dropped Tailfang's Tail a NODROP, LORE, and NO RENT. I can't seem to find what quest its for. Anyone find a quest for this? After I posted this I ran down to the pit for hoppers and ran into him again..killed him again.. 1 bub health left..the tail was on him again..sure wish I knew what it was for!=)

Give this to the guy standing under the bridge and he'll give you a rogue dagger, good one too for lower levels.

I was trying the whisperling quest, got the frost covered rock hopper to pop and all of a sudden i'm attacked from behind by Tailfang. Maybe this pops him?

i had a lvl 1 bst and i gave him a little wu's and an ulak so i thought i'd be safe then this thing kills me, what really got me was the poison
i made a vah shir bst for fun and got killed by him at lv 2 ( he tore me apart) but hes preety weak, the most he hit me for was 10

I am a lvl 4 rogue and this thing cons white to me. Even fight I thought right? WRONG! After killing me once(I was already injured) I think that he only killed me because I was hurt. So after looting my corpse I attack him again, this time I take him down to about 1/4 life before he kills me. Well, I think to myself, maybe it was just luck he got me. So after looting my corpse for the second time I foolishly attack the thing again. Bad move this time he takes me out before I do even 1/4 of his health in dmg. So after dying for the 3rd time against him I decided to quit. The moral of this story...... This Is One Bad Mutha..... save yourself the trouble of looting your own corpse and don't attack him under lvl 5!

get sln chloro and str from a druid then go kill him ;) was buffing kitties up and very first mov that a lvl 1 i had buffed was tailfang. just thought i would share! /grin

A guy buffed me when i was lvl 3 and i had 330 hp. Tailfang ripped me up and i would have died if the girl he killed before i fought him hadnt shown up. He got me down to 16 hp before he started running and i got him down to 1 hp and the other girl got him.
