Dropped Spell: Beguiling Visage today. 9/10/06 *EDIT* Also Dropped Staff Shard of Luclin. After clearing all 4 bandit camps multible times, I feel it is safe to say the one who posted the "Lucid shard" (dat), may have been confused.

i AA'd there the entire time it was a hotzone, spending countless hours, and 25 AA, bouncing between the two bandit camps--only dropped once that entire time.
Soloing at least one Shadel bandit camp is trivial for any Ranger with EQ and a decent range bow (250 and arrow of 150 or so) as the mobs can be range attacked outside their aggro radius. You can have complete crap for gear, all you need is a bow and EQ. Just find a good, high spot (the first pillar near the first deep cavern lotus as you exit the town into the main caverns works) and look at the 4 bandit camp to the left of the Tarmok Lookout and cast Glimpse to get a close up view to target. From this pillar you can drop 2 bandits in a couple of minutes. You can then move to the high ground to your front right and target and kill the 3rd and 4th. Then run up to loot. Rinse and repeat after they respawn.
If you have a weak duo or group, but at least one ranger with EQ and a decent range bow, he/she can kill three bandits so that you can run up and finish off the last one and have the camp broken.
Was surprised as heck. Duo'ing with another beast the two camps above the underbulk/mutant dreg area and had 3 shards drop. Didn't have Identify available, but I figure it's the DAT shard that drops off Shik'Nar.
And yes, this is the No-Drop Lucid Shard, not the Staff Shard of Luclin used in TSes.
I beleive my lvl 28 Rogue conned them amiable also, but of coarse I did this to a distance, but it didn't really matter when 8 small shrooms swarmed and killed me.
Camped these last night. About 2 hours, got 2 rings and 3 spells. XP not that great, they seemed to have a lot of hp for their level though. We had a 48 bst, 54 sham (me), 55 war, 54 enc, 53 wiz, 52 dru. Lack of cleric made it a little hairy when we got adds, but chanter did a good job of pulling and mezzing, never had more than 3 on us at once. Pretty easy overall.
61 Shaman here and these guys are a joke. They have never resisted anything, even without sticking malo on them. Usually get 2 per pull, slow and just tank them myself whith dog eating away. Torpor is a must for any shaman thinking about soloing this camp. Have had up to 3 on me at once, and it still was very easy once I got them all slowed, just root and step back if in trouble.
You can snare these. It's hard to pull singles though. You usually get 4 at once. They're good for quad kiting wizards because the snare hits all 4. Target the furthest one with a Temp Flux Staff and all 4 come running. I would suggest that you scout out the area that you want to quad in first to make sure you know where all the mushroom patches and other mobs that might aggro are. The bandits are dark blue through 62.
Anyone know if SoE drops here? I've heard it does, but I can't find one. Anyone know what mobs like to drop it if so? Please let me know the best place to find it without buying.
A group of 5, then 5, then 4 camped these last night. We pulled from singles to 4 at once with little trouble. Group make-up consisted of 60 Enchanter, 60 Bard, 58 Paladin, 58 Ranger, 56 SK and 56 Cleric. They mezzed easily, stunned easily, taunted easily and were slowable.
They do have some descent damage output so watch any caster classes that get aggro. Tank wise, I had little trouble tanking them as the 58 Paladin. Even before the cleric arrived, we had little trouble going through multi-pulls since the enchanter and bard would mezz and we would work our way through them one after another. As a Paladin, I could easily keep up with the healing necessary.
We camped them for about 4 hours. Got 3 rings. The rings are nice. XP was okay. Got a few spells too, but nothing earth-shattering. We were there for the rings!
I think a group of 2 or 3 55+ could handle the spot if you can work out the single pulls or if you have crowd control.

A 60 bard was in your group killing these? Either he was doing you a big favor, or he's pretty lame. 60 bard can solo the whole camp almost as fast as your group. And not have to split exp and loot.
any idea why these things con kindly to me? or do they con kindly to everyone at first? this was my first time up in luclin. so i didnt work on any other factions to do this.
These suckers appear to be on the same faction as the Recondites in Paludal Caverns.
Now, you don't take faction hits for whacking the Recondites, but you DO take a faction hit with Lake Recondite Bandits for killing the named chicklet (her name evades me for the moment, but she's the one for the SoEE quest) that spawns on the ledge that goes between camp 1 and camp 2.
Rogues seem to be quite welcome in the camps, as once I stopped to con one as I was making a supply run to Shar Vahl with a friend's character. It appears to take a while to become KOS to the Recondites if you're a Rogue, as this friend's wasn't KOS yet after 6 levels of hunting them. I, however, was quite KOS, and that was just dandy with me, cuz they're worth more to me after I've killed them.
I don't know how social the Shadels are, but if they're not, it might help having a Rogue pull them, should you have one in the group, due to them likely not being KOS to them. But, I've never been here, and probably won't get here until the end of my Beastlord's epic, so I'm just speculating.
