I tried here today figuring it would be a nice lazy camp to do a little fear kiting in, but when I cast fear I got the red "Your target is too high a level for your fear spell" I tried every fear from the level 4 one up to trepadition, and got the same message every time. Either they dropped the fear cap from 55, or these are higher than 53.
Very simple. go in from Twylight Sea, put sow on before entering, pull up to ramp. if you get in trouble just leg it to the zone behind you, turn around and try again. Dirt simple for fairly good XP or AA points.
as a soloing necro I find these things have between 12-14k HP. They dont have any unusual resists that I hav enoticed , every DOT I have lands with the normal occasional resist. At level 60 these things seem to give 1/4+ AA XP per kill , though it takes just over 2 rounds of Pryo/Dark/Splurt/Plague to kill.. sometimes 3 if the root keeps breaking ( and cutting DOT damage down while its moving )
Just so you know, dot damage isn't affected by a mob's movement. It stays the same regardless of if the mob is standing still, running away, or running towards you.
Yes, I am aware of the fact that used to dot damage would be reduced to 66% of what it normally was unless the mob was stationary or feared, but this was changed before the above post was made.
My 55 warrior and I (55 shaman) hunted these in Fungus at Twilight Sea zone. They were blue, but only just, so definitely way over the level 46 set out here.
Here's an interesting thing. When we pulled them singly, they were fairly easy to root and slow. When we pulled two, they were virtually immune to root and slow. I sooo hope that was a fluke. Epic dot landed, but not much else.
They also have a ton of hitpoints, so be aware. It took me 80 mana to kill one and keep my warrior healed, so that should give you some idea.
