I just spent from 9:18 am to 10:02 am tracking and killing countless lightcrawlers in Dawnshroud Peaks. rseults: No faction hits for or against anything/anyone
The lightcrawlers in Dawnshroud peaks have got to be one of the most annoying mobs in the game. They have a huge aggro range, cast that blinding flash spell, and have a tendency to aggro when you're right in the middle of killing something else. In addition, they will not leave you alone after they go green and will aggro when they no longer have any chance whatever of winning the fight. They'll attack a level 75 player just traveling through the zone as surely as they will a level 25.
Oh well... I guess they keep DSP from being TOO easy a place to level at will.
Lvl 28... fighting a Large Zelniak and winning, this thing aggros, i finish the Zelniak with about 40% left and turn to this guy, he tries to blind me twice, resist both, he fell when I was at like 7%... lucky I guess, but I won, EXCELLENT exp for my lvl.
all the posts about these are bad, but i always like to xp on these, they dont have that many hps, if you can snare kite them or fear kite them they go down fast, unlike the zelniaks which have a ton of hp and seem pretty resistant to spells
Ok heres the latest I can update thsi thread with:
This information is based on my Vah Shir BeastLord currently LvL 35
These bugs very greatly in Con from Marus Seru to Dawnshroud Peaks the ones in DSP con a few lvls higher than the ones in Marus Seru.
I leveled quickly grinding in MS from 30 to 32 with no problems and now these bugs in MS often Con Green now.
At LvL 35 in DSP I still get dark blue cons from these bugs and some light blue and a yellow but not enough to notice.
The exp in both zones has been real nice. and there are enough regular mobs runing around that you never get board. The Light Crawlers are the Most Agressive Mobs in MS and DSP as the resr of the mobs will pass right by you as if your not there these BUGS are agressive they hit realitvly hard but that not there best attribute they are Castors of a sort. Now this has happend to me several time and it does suck! they hit you with a typ of Flash of Light thus the name (Light Crawler) thsi actuall will completly blind yer toon and I do mean blind ( YOU WHOLE SCREEN GOES BLACK) looks like you turned of monitor! lol this effect lasts longer at lower levels but resist magic soes lilti it alot. Normally the bug will hit you with this as they are assisting which they will allways do or if the bug is not light blue or green so far only Dark Blue to meand higher have hit me with this but while your are blind you are not fighting O_o.
I have not seen alot of lewt drop from these bugs but then again untill I discovered this armor quest I was not wanting to mess with them dur to the FoL typ spell the hit with but I have a an Alt Vah Shir War and a friend with a human Paladin I think this armor will do nicely for them both so I will go gring it out this weekend and re post more on my experiece.
So in the previous post I died due to a lightcrawler. So I get a druid to port me to DS for my CR..I land in DS and a wolf kills me in 3 hits...Now I have a 25 Necro
I have a 26 Necro, was in DS these things are Dark to me.. I had 876 Hit points at the time because of Protection of Nature, and I had a damage sheild of 24... So I get blinded, stayed that way till I was dead and woke up in PoK. Seems to me, that is just crazy, I was blind for close to 2 full minutes. So for you people with less than 2000 hit points beware.
All lightcrawlers need to die and rot in hell. Plain and simple. I'm so sick of getting jumped by these bastards, especially the greenies. They're fast and have a huge agro radius, and they always add... always. I rarely go to Luclin zones simply because these bastards are in many of them. Grr...
Be a little bit careful of these in Dawnshroud. Used to be their blinding proc just blinded you but now it acts as a dot and a decently strong one too. Had my little mage out there soloing near SS and got blinded by one of these. Blind wore off when I died. Went back and checked and found out my pet had killed the lightcrawler and I was still running around while blind and died thanks to the dot affect. Probably won't worry those beefy warriors too much but I saw a soloing monk get killed by these because of the blind/dot.

Hard to find in MS though, ya haveta get very far into the pure flat & white plain and roam around, but you have to be careful of Zelniak and perhaps Recuso. Also yesterday, found a shell from 1. Now that antennae is in my primary hand and that carapace is now resting on me head.
RE: Am I the only 1 that knows these are in Marus Seru?
yeah ive seen these guys there too. me (33 BL) and My friend (29 DRU) took him out with ease. no loot whatsoever. good stuff probly drops off the higher level ones.

I was messing around for the first time with the lightcrawlers in Dawnshroud Peaks near Santus Seru. After killing the first one rather easily, I figured that "light" might stand for light hitters, kind of like the light-hitting scarabs in the Old World. By the time I locked up with the second one, I realized what the "light" was all about.
The blinding proc they do doesn't last terribly long, but being blinded is always disconcerting.
Is it just me or are old world NPCs showing up all over luclin but yet are completely unrelated to their "twins"? Kanthuk ogrebane is an NPC for the ghoulbane, and lieutenant arathur in echo is the leader of the evil guards in qeynos! WTF?
The first time my friend and I killed one of these, they dropped a Putrid Claw. stats are... Hand to hand, magical, lore. 14 dmg 30 dly +4 str +4 dex +4 svdisease +4 svpoison.

The quest is called 'Ogrebane Armor' in Allahk's quest db... You start out by speaking with a dwarf named Kanthek Ogrebane in Dawnshroud Peaks... he is near a big crate by the two vendors off to the side of the Sanctus Seru zone.
He tells you that his brother can make the armor... the Brother is Faber Rugon and can be reached by zoning into Sanctus Seru and moving ahead slightly to the right... so you cross the pavilion and go into the first 'shop' on the right hand side accross the way. he is also a dwarf.
Pretty killer stats on the legs and bracer especially
These things have a nasty blind effect, not only do you go blind but you also lose about 150 - 200 hp. I died about three times by these things by going blind, looked at the combat report on the damage I took was only around 500 but I had over 600 hp before the combat. You do get a message that you have been blinded, "Your eyes are burnt" or something like that.
Plus if there are any more near by you will get adds.
