for all you ppl that think its wierd when sharks con indiff out of water. well use logic. since when do sharks walk on land =/

Posted: Sep 29 2001 at 8:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i jumed in the water when i was on erudin land by the boat when i jumped off the platform that take u to boat i saw a giant parana when i was there before in the water for a long time i never see a thing and how rare to the shark babies spawn there only lvl 1-2 but raly miss but beware if your that lvl and u cant kill normal shark if u can then go right ahead and attack its babie usally it hits for 4-5 points of dam and the giant parana they spawn really rare by erudins docks and there red to me at lvl 2 and 3 thats all im really sure of i dont know how much they bite for or what lvl they are if u know shark babies lvl and giuant paranas lvl give me a reply and tell me how much giant paranas bite for and there lvl and give me the chance that ill see a shark babie and giant parana again right by the shore of erudin and how long it takes them to spawn and that dwarf outside on the rim that u see at the side when u go swimming along the ridge and he is just standing there plz give me his lvl and what his purpose is and his usual items and money he drops thxs bye

Anyways, it wasnt to hard of a kill, hit in the upper 90's but me and a couple friends took him down by puting a cat on its face and trying to make it give us platinum. Loot was a big piece of cheese and a baby kangaroo aka a joey.

I made a Ranger and jumped of the boat before close to an island...and all the sharks wer indiff and I wasn't invis...was it a bug???
Maybe they were whale sharks.

Just keep your swimming up, and make sure you have more than 30 hp, hehe. I have a level 4 chanter who fell of the boat near the dock to erudin, I saw 2 diseased sharks, both conning red. Fortunately a druid I met in qeynos buffed me well. I got past the first one unnoticed, but the second got right on top of me. It hit me 3 times for 20-30 hp each, but my swimming sucked, I have had my level 13 necro (57 at swimming) swim there, and they didn't do nearly as much in the time it took me to get through.

I used to jump off the boat before it got to the docks. The spot is a small outcropping of land, just as the boat 'turns' toward the dock (if you check out the everlore map at <www.everlore.com/geography/default.asp?MAPID=1383&Go=Go> I believe the spot is just under the 'K' in Kerra Isle). Almost every time I have done this, a plague shark comes out of the water in front of me and over the land. It always conned indifferent. One day, maybe I jumped too soon, I was swimming toward shore, and a plague shark attacks me, killing me in a few hits. I no longer jump off the boat.

i didnt think about it but once my friend and i where headed back to Qeynos from erud's crossing she jumped to catch the boat, missed and was promptly killed by the plague shark. im only 14th so i havent looked for them but maybe they do spawn when the boat docks?

It's very possible that this is true - as a 12th lvl DRU, I like to drag wisps to the outcropping by the two cats (near the dock, past the fire) and have seen the plague shark actually Jumping OVER the land, while the boat was docked!! Perhaps this is a bug, but hey - if ya camp here you don't even have to go in the water to see the stupid thing. (BTW and odder still) it cons indifferent out of the water ???

i have continually heard rumors that this boat is directly linked to the spawn of the plague shark. That the plague shark will spawn when as this boat comes into dock and will spawn under the ship and to be truthful im pretty sure i saw it happen using the eyelevel water trick to see clearly underwater. Anyway if anyone knows more about this plz say something.

its not alwase a plague shark as i found out today when i got key happy and fell off boat after it docked on Kerra isle i was soon killed by a normal shark so i think it just spawns a random shark or just whatever can kill the person whos falling =)

What about Golden Maiden (The other Qeynos-Erudin boat)? And Why doesn't it say "Erudin" under 'known habitats' above?

I used to swim all the time - Erud's Crossing is my favorite hunting ground right now and i must of swam from the boat on it's Erudin to Queynos route 20 times before i got killed by a plaque shark - now i get killed everytime. If you're going to jump in the water from the boat on the Queynos to Erudin trip do so when only very close to land

the sharks, plaque and the killer ones r swimming around the docks, that means, they r close to boat, later close to land (where the sentinel is swimming)

I would actually warn against junping into the waterunless you're right next to the island. I jumped when the island was well in view and was promptly killed by that all so elusive plague shark. The interesting part is that it also killed me twice more on subsequent corpse recoveries. Maybe I'm just "lucky" but just to be safe I would warn against jumping. BTW, does anyone know if invis to animals works for sharks... if so it could have saved me a whole lot of trouble.

yes invisibity works on sharks, be carefull that it lasts till u r far from them (diseased shark is blue to lv10ench, but the strong big shark, that is swimming often on place of diseased is red to me, and it bites for 35-40 dmg and is quick)

heh yeah, swim, i was trying to get some fins from the plaque sharks for a friend of mine, i'm a druid, i tracked, i could find nothing but the higher level killer sharks and they were WAY out there, so really, its pretty safe)

If you're riding from Erudin to Qeynos don't expect the boat to stop at our favorite little island when travelling this direction. Can't ya wait? jump right off the boat and swim yer mob-killing butt over there. Waters seem safe.. were safe.. are safe?
