Definitely Incorrect Level
# Jan 18 2003 at 6:00 AM Rating: Decent
At 50th, I took my Wizard, Moclyr, to scout around Wakening Lands, and to check my faction with "Claws of Veeshan".

Right outside of the cave to Skyshrine, I saw a tigesauras and tigeraptor, both conned dark blue to me.

36th to 39th just can't be correct. Maybe 39th to 44th, unless ranges of the levels on these vary widely.

Considering that at level 50 mobs will still be light blue or dark blue at 37, these levels appear to be right on.

If you want to know what level mobs will still give you xp, multiply your level by .75. This works for levels after 20 I believe. before that there is a wider range.

i.e. if you are level 60, anything 45+ will give you xp.

That's why things wil go from red to green so fast at early levels, but in higher levels, you can hunt the same mobs for 10+ levels and still get xp off of them.
Solo?

I am currently a 38 Bard, working up to 45 ASAP, and became intrigued by the Ice Forged Shackles quest. I noticed the rec. lvl for quest was 35, and so looked further into it. I was wondering if anyone knew if these were charm kitable at my level, or if I need to wait a while. I'm looking for a replacement for my Serpentine Bracer which is horrible AC for my level. If anyone knows, please reply. Thanks in advance. =)

EDIT: Ack posted on wrong mob, meant about the tigeraptors... lower level. How about those?

They have around 2.3k hp.
On my druid today I killed one by casting Winged Death (1287), Scoriae (688, hit for full damage), and Drones of Doom (340). And of course, my uber lvl 5 root which did 10 damage. It died on the last tick of the dots.

In case your just after them for the Ice Forged Shackles quest, go after tigeraptors instead. They only have around 1.2k hp, (5 casts of lighting strike and Drones of Doom.)

Good hunting

Currently, I'm a level 44 semi-twinked paladin. There are only two conditions I require before trying to solo these things: Start the encounter with full health/buffs (with symbol) and full mana, or make sure Lay-Hands is up.

Even though these bastards regularly dual-hit rapidly for 40-90 each swing, what makes them a ***** to fight is the fact that I seem to miss A LOT... and when I do manage to hit them, the damage is usually half of normal.

I tried to root and drop arrows on them, but the root lasts like 2 seconds and barely 1-out-of-15 arrows ever manages to hit (usually for 1 to 6 puny hitpoints of damage).

I tried to kite them using Flash of Light (which actually lands well and lasts for a while), but if they get too far away, they will simply repop in their original spawn point... FULLY HEALED. Running after them while wasting arrows is no fun.

The only way to kill these things (for me) is to melee my **** off, then root and heal myself until I am OOM. One out of four encounters will allow me to kill it without the use of LoH. One out of the remaining three encounters requires that I lay hands. The other two times, I run like a scared little ranger into SS.

Still, they give great exp, but their loot SUCKS. I was hoping for the guts to drop, but so far I have killed over 50 of these &(^%@#$ and no guts have fallen.

The only classes who could solo these easily are the ones who will never have to melee or root them (druids).

Like a little Ranger? WHAT? You weak Pally you. WHAT? I'm a 44 Ranger. What? I solo these guys no problem. What? See I have panic animal as a little Ranger and rarely even get hit by them. As long as I keep panic up that is. I solo about 3 and then med. Please don't insult a class expecially one you know nothing about. Your class is just weak against animals I guess. You won't see me cutting down Pallies because of it! Maybe you need to go back to e-bay and buy another character.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 01 2002 at 5:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ummm sorry B.... but Rangers are weak *** weak against anything BUT animals. Plain and simple. Only thing they're good at is peeling mobs off casters and fear kiting animals.

Killed one yesterday with my druid. Took very little time and effort, a slightly easier then killing a EW frost giant. Gave excellent xp to me at level 49 and had aprox 2100-2200 hit points. It didn't drop anything at all.
They are quite fast, even when snared.

These puppies were yellow and red to a level 36.

That indicates to me that the top end saur will be 39 or higher.

They all con blue to my 50 druid and give fair exp so I guess they around 40. They have about 400 hp less than a Hill Giant in Rathe Mountains. Almost no magic resist and root sticks on them for a long time, almost everytime. They easy to solo as tend to be single spawns. However, unless you need Tigeraptor Hides you best looking elsewhere for loot
