I took my Drakkin Necro to Castle Mistmoore to meet up with the fallen noble. Since this was taking awhile I decided to travel around all the rooms. As anyone that has been to CM before knows, this place is aggro city. Even if the mobs are super grey to you they will attack.
However, An Advisor did not aggro(as noted in posts before). He conned apprehensive so I decided to hail him which then caused him to aggro. Here's what he said:
"How dare you speak to me, you impudent sack of naseating refuse! For this outrage of insubordination I call forth the vengeance of House Mistmoore! You now have little time left to live. Enjoy it."
So his response has me curious if this is just funny flavor text or if someone with good faction with him gets a different response?
His /loc is -117, 82, -154 which was correctly noted as being just near the library. He dropped the advisor robe for me.
Level 52 Shaman here and this mob was very easy to kill. Conned light blue and died really quickly to my pet and just one dot.
Once he dies the Dire Wolf spawns in the canyon which drops an epic piece for the Spear of Fate.
I was able to keep the Castle clear at L52 without much of a problem while waiting for Advisor - he spawned in the room between the bedroom and library.
I was waiting about 45 minutes before he showed. Have an SK HT the Dire Wolf and it's all over. Grats.
this guy is a push over ...if you are a 50 something ..with a couple 50 something friends ..
just like everything in this castle ..easy to just camo/invis and run in and quickly kill your target and gate,or run out . !!!!and dont fuss about my idea training someone ..with all the expansions ,and the new plainer citys that let you get around alot easyer not even mid 20s are coming here for exp now ..the few peeps who whould be here have already beat you to the punch and are camoed and enrout to ther farm spot ,,or enrout to ther epic mob .
....maddux toecrusha....54 wanderer.... <the rathe server today and forever>
oh yeah ....and i forgot to mention ,the crystalline robe blows this outta the water for a lowbie/twink and comes from a zone thats roughly the same difficuly
....maddux toecrusha....54 wanderer.... <the rathe server today and forever>
We killed him as part of my Shaman Epic, and before I hit him, he conned Amicable to me. So, like the Black Dire (who also conned Amicable), he must be True Spirit faction.
Question: Is the Black Dire just the Advisor's soul?
I don't think the Black Dire is his soul, if memory serves according to the lore the Black Dire was a spirit that was overcome by his love of wealth.
The Advisor didn't use to be non-KoS, used to agro like any other mob. Its not True Spirit faction because my TS fac is kindly, and Advisor was amiable to me.
my 13 mage could afford this, he bought it for about 150pp. Not to mention there is alwayws at least 5 advisor robes in bazaar. They are not as rare as they used to be, now that the bazaar exists. PS ive also gotten a CCS for 50pp in bazaar lol

I have ally status in Mistmoore. I achieved this by camping that 31st NPC bard in South Karana for 3 or 4 levels. I found that killing the advisor in Mistmoore does not aggro the surrounding mobs. Somehow, the advisor is on a different faction table than the rest of the mobs in Mistmoore. Its a nice way to make money: run in the castle unmolested, kill the advisor and loot, go sell, and come back to Mistmoore for another.

I agree with War! Come on, everyone who has a hint of smarts knows that every class has pros and cons. That is why EQ is such a great game. All classes are important for their strong points and need assistance to overcome their weakness.
Gameth-Zeb (Ranger)The best class in the game! LOL Just kidding.
As far as I can tell, it's at LEAST two hours. I was there to kill the Black Dire for my epic, and someone was killing the advisor just as we arrived. We helped hem take downt he Black Dire for THEIR SHaman epic, then sat down to wait for the Advisor to respawn. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. I finally decided to come back some other day after about two hours.

Now my main priority is to get as much INT as my nec can get considering his base is only 110. i have chosen a iksar nec because i like the iksar race and i know my way around kunark very well. Here are a list of Robes that i want with the price check (on my server)

I agree, i wear the crystal covered shroud though im a wiz (stats:AC:12 Str:4 Wis:4 INT: 4 SV COLD 10)there are tons of mana boosts for wizzies but not so many for AC, and its arguably better than the Robe of the Oracle (CCS costs more too!, PC at 700pp). Though in the end when i get enough cash or exp im goin with advisor robe. (it just looks so cool).
What is the spawn rate on the Advisor? I have heard rumors that he is a 4 hour spawn and want to confirm whether that is true or not. Also, does the dire wolf spawn immediately after he is killed or is there some lag time between the death of the advisor and the spawn of dire wolf?
OK, My guild and i raided MM for the dire wolf pelt for shaman epic. The advsor does trigger the spawn of the dire wolf. We sent a 51 warrior and a 50 cleric in to camp advisor, it was more than 4 hours between spawns so i believe he has a place holder for there was a spawn in the library where he is about every 30 minutes. When the advisor died they sent word to the rest of guild who had been keepin blood wolfs and all spawns clear from canyon area. After they killed him it was about 30 seconds till Black Dire spawned. Hope this helps.

I don't know what faction this guy is on, but he was dubious to me and I'm warmly to the rest of Mistmoore. Then again, I'm an Erudite so I'm dubious to a lot of things... /shrug
Seems he might con dubious to everyone. He did at least con dubious to my dwarf cleric and my half elf ranger - both of whom are very KOS in mistmoore. I thought this was very odd at first, and I started thinking maybe he was part of some quest and his faction never droped below dubious like a merchant. Merchants never seem to drop below dubious either. So I decided to hail him and he attacked. I did alittle reasearch afterwords on line and discovered that he is indeed part of the shaman epic, though no one mentioned any spoken text in the spoiler other than kill the advisor to spawn the direwolf. Blah blah blah, I imagine in actaully doing the shaman epic he prolly has some text. I think the shaman epic as some kind of specail built in faction to prevent shamans from jumping straight to handing in the shield of marr/woe and envy. It was sugested in some other post I read that in doing the previous steps in the shaman epic you got this special kind of faction or something that allowed you to complete the next step and so on and so on. So, perhaps that explains it in part.
I don't know about the advisor cause I had a level 60 druid friend of mine kill him to make the dire spawn. It is true that you get faction as you go along in the quest. It's called true spirit faction, and by the time you get to killing the black dire everything on this faction kindly considers you.... even the black dire and his wolf buddies.

Posted:Nov 26 2000 at 10:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) stats kinda suck. It looks good though. Not sure on exact stats, but i know oracle stats are better. This goes for 3-4k on avg though.
*sigh* the oracle robe is 9 ac, 5 wis 5 int, 25 mana, and 7(?)to dex. the advisor robe is 8 ac, 5 int, 20 mana, 5 MR, 2 and 3 to dex and agi(i think). which one is better? well it depends. wisdom is an important factor(i read that on a post, ill just post it), but how much of a good factor is it? i play on TZ. i would rather have the oracle robe. enough items already give MR, and most people overlook cold and fire spells, not to mention the necro and SK spells, which disease is the key. i carry a stein, + my wiz buff at 12, which puts my disease resist at 50. you have to have MR to survive on PvP servers-true. but my shielding spells give enough already. 1 ac might equal to 2 agi...but have you ever taken off something with 9 ac, and the ac goes down MUCH more than 9? i think 1 ac would be better in the long run than 2 agi.
stats dont suck. the oracle adds a whooping 5 more mana and also 5 wis. i think that pure casters can do without wisdom.. pure casters who solo need agi so they wont be hit like they would without any. the 5svmagic is also a nice feature as well, especially for those froglok wizards in guk. so, what you really have to ask yourself is that if you would rather have 5 mana, or 2 agi and 5 svmagic. personally, at my lvl, 5 mana makes no differance 99% of the time.
As a Tier Dal necromancer, I must say you're missing the key factor in deciding whether the Oracle robe or advisor's robe is superior. The advisor robe is much better because that ugly powder blue color of the Oracle robe just doesn't go well with my beautiful dark blue skin. The particular shade of red on the advistor's robe goes very well with my skin pigmentation. And always remember, once you go blue, nothing else will do.
i have to agree with mortis, even if the advisor robe has 5 less mana than the oracle, the oracle robe, with its ugly sky blue coloring, is hideous, and quite an eyesore. im a druid, so i guess it shouldn't matter to me, but uggh, i can't stand having all those bright blue casters around me. advisor robe looks ten times cooler, especially if your playing a shadier class race, like a necro, or any dark elf caster
You're thinking too small here people. This is one of the few robes that an Iksar (or human I guess) Monk can wear! You caster have your choice of all kinds of robes (go get a Bonecaster, it looks better then this on you inkies), but monks get very few options.
