Soarin Brightfeather  

Every description about easy kills seems to be posted of 50+ characters. The bird is supposed to be around 30, is that a correct estimation?

I dont give a rats@$$ about anyone claiming something to be an easy kill when you are 23 levels above the mob.

What i and many wants to know is if its possible to kill him when you are around 30. Not if some managaged to kill him at 60.

alright if this guy is how you say he is i can clear island and kite him 1/2 and let pet tank for a while, while i med. no prob i solo reds by 2. Question is about loot He drops spear how ofen and when he does drop it is it lore?

Well, I spent two days on the island in OOT to get him to spawn. The first day I spent about 3 hours running around and soloing the birds. The random birds are no trouble at all... the worst hit I took was 29 points... normally hit for 1-5 and 80% of the time they miss. It would take me about 30 minutes to clear off the whole island (approximately 15 birds). Gull Skytalon was spawned when I got there and aggroed me immediately. I was low on mana, didn't really need to kill him anyway, so I just let him follow me across the ocean (I levitated... he swam) until something jumped him and killed him. He is one tenacious bird - I ran him all over OOT and he never gave up till he got killed by something.

But no Soarin Brightfeather.... *sigh*

SOOO, second day, I had about an hour and a half available. Popped in... Gull was back and I decided to kill him this time. Pet and I dropped him like a rock (pet attacked, I dropped 3 DoTs on him - about 1100hp my guess). Instead of ******** around killing the birds myself (I wanted to work up defense and piercing skills the day before) I used the pet. I parked the pet on top of the mountain and then ran around and aggroed a half dozen birds at a time. I brought them all up to the pet and we stood there and killed them all. After 6 birds, the pet and I were both at 80% health, and I had FM (chloro running on both of us). After killing the entire island 3-4 times, Soarin popped on the beach by the gnome. I noticed that this is where Gull had popped, as well. Not saying this is the ONLY place... but that's where they were for me.

When Soarin popped, I had already accumulated my normal train of about 6 birds. I realized it was him too late and he aggroed. I carried my wonderful line of birds up the mountain to my pet and immediately had the pet attack Soarin rather than letting him choose a target. I backed away and rooted and dotted him (VoS and Plague) and then went to beating on the birds. The pet had Soarin and one other bird - I had the other 5. I had killed one bird when Soarin's root broke. I rerooted after he hit me once (for around 50) and backed away. He killed my pet with the help of the other bird and then I dropped him with a 260 point nuke. My guess is he has about 900hps. The other birds all got a DoT and I collected my spear and logged for the afternoon.

Camped him a few weeks ago for my lv 10 shaman :) i was using my lv 46 chanter (Abanine Moonrider - The Rathe ), and basicly summonsed a pet buffed him and ran around casting tash on everything to pull and he killed em .. after about 30 mins Gull spawned. Killed him and shouted to se if there was a cleric that needed him, there wasnt so he decayed. about 10 mins later soarin spawned and rooted nuked him to death.. easy fight. but while waiting on a friend about 5 mins later he spawned again... so he is not a timed spawn

Has this NPC been nerfed?? I am bound on Aviak Island and I always gate back to find Gull and no Soarin ever! Too bad. I used to be always looking for Gull and find Soarin.

He drops a fine shamans spear i think since i see lvl 35 shamans sometimes camp him at times.
