certainly like the old models better; I hope one day they will revamp the old models and replace the luclin ones.

I was coming out of the tunnel to Befallen and it jumped me. Never saw it until I was running and panned the camera around. My pet was taunting it, but I was close enough to the guard to make a run for it. Still died at the guard's feet though. Tolus hit four times for about 52 and I died before the elemental did. Royal pain in the @ss. I'm a level 7 necromancer and I knew I couldn't go toe to toe with it. Watch out in another level or so though.
Summoned? How?
# May 20 2003 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
It says that these things are "summoned". For something to be summoned, doesn't there have to be someone or something to summon them?
I was attacked twice by these things last night in E.C. I was OOM and my pet was KIA when they hit me. I couldn't get my spells off and ended up running for the zoneline to survive.
The thing is, there was nothing and no one around to summon them. They just appeared.
What am I missing here? I'm curious.

By Summoned, they mean that the spells that mages and druids get that do direct damage to summoned creatures will affect it. In the same way that direct damage undead spells that clerics and paladins get.

not invis
# May 14 2002 at 2:50 AM Rating: Default
Okay, they DO go invisible, but not when they wander around. The go invis right before they attack someone. I saw it It says "an air elemental fades away" and then it was out of sight. Either it's really fast, or they DO go invis, but i think it's only to attack someone. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Saw one for the first time the other day on my lvl 5 monk

They are invisible almost always. When they first spawn, just like the Magician's Air Elemental pets, they are visible, but after a short period they cast self invis. During combat and a short time afterward, they are visible again. As far as I've ever seen (yes I've died to him at low levels too - because of his invisibilty, most lowbies can go through a few characters before they find out he exists even), he only wanders back and forth along the sands of EC near the NRo tunnel. Everytime I've ever bumped into him, he has been right around the tunnel area. He's a real pain to low-level characters, that's for sure.

He flew across my path so broad,
And then turned and attacked the pawn,
He swung and missed as his air did flow,
And then with one mighty blow,
The beast was down and my sword aglow.

Thank You

I saw 2 yesterday when I was playing my enchanter and if you have the new models on they look like the new ones. They are also much easier to find now that you can follow the little clouds they leave behind when they move.
they do spawn in ec

just yesterday I was doing my thing as a lvl 14 mag, just collecting stuff to sell...
I had 3 air elementals attack me in like 10 mins..
I was fortunate enough to have a water pet up and about guarding me...I was meding each time so I dont know if they were invis or not..but I did have to heal my lvl 12 water pet during each of the fights, so they do have some kahunas to them..newbies beware...

Just The Facts

Sup all. My name is Sajin. I am a lvl 13 ranger of Faydarks Champions. In other words, I'm a Wood Elf. I hunt Air Elementals for the fun of it sometimes. I'm going to shed some light on this situation. Ok then! One: You DO NOT need See Invisible or any other spells to see them.(when you have See Invisble on, anyone or anything thats invisible has brackets around their name. notice on the above picture, no brackets are present) If you didn't see it come at you, heres one reason that may help-IT WAS BEHIND YOU! They seem to be good at sneaking up on you, since they make no noise at all. I was tracking one, kept goin in circles. It ended up finding me). Air Elementals spawn on the desert side of EC, near the WC zone and the WFP zone, and move across the sand. Coming from either side, they pass the tunnel and keep going to the other zone line unless they run into someone. Usually those someones are poor newbies hunting pumas and skelys. Oh well, too bad for them. They will attack almost anything they see. They are lvl 11 like it is stated, and they con green to me, yet they still attack me. They leave no loot, which isnt surprising because they are just bags of wind. What are they gonna carry? Ive been killed by them twice, and killed them numerous times now. At even fight, the player will usually win. Well, thats about all the major info there is on Air Elementals. Later

Who said they were invisible?
# Jun 10 2001 at 8:30 AM Rating: Decent
I have spent about 20 hrs game time in East Commonlands. I dont know what some are saying that you need to be able to see invisible...
i am human
i am paladin
with just a 2 handed axe, no buffs or anything
I see these ALL THE TIME!, nobody shouts or anything cuz they're so common to see. They appear around the ruins. They took my life once, found out i cant hit them cuz i don't have magic weapon... where do i get one?

WHERE ELSE THAN EC
# Apr 20 2001 at 3:53 PM Rating: Default
I'm a High-Elf Cleric 17th Lvl. I killed the Air Elemental a couple of time but he didn't drop anything. Is there any other place in Norrath where Air Elemental Spawn??? It's the only creature known to drop 'Vial of Swirling Mist', an ingredient I have to get (at least 13 of those) to make my Koada'Dal Elven Armor. Please...
I saw a lot of Steam and Earth Elemental in Steamfont but no Air Elemental...
They are there

Last night I was hunting around the empty hut on the path in EC. I decided to go the tunnel. I got disoriented in the desert and turned back to head to the path. I got belted from behind. My pet started taunting. I turned and it was a skeleton (con blue). My pet used about 1/3 of his hp's and I about 2 bubs of mana to kill it. I looted and started to head back to the path when again my pet says Taunting master. I turned around again and what a sight! My water pet dukeing it out with an Air Elemental. It conned blue. I buffed my pet and let him go at it. I finally used SoB twice to kill it when my pet had a 1/4 of it's hp's left. I think that if my pet had full hp and the buff's it could have won.

RE: Seeing Them
# Jan 20 2002 at 5:27 PM Rating: Default
They really are NOT invisible. I am a human necromancer and the damned thing just came up behind me and almost killed me (at lvl 5). Fortunately, it was rather slow and i ran to the tunnel and someone killed it for me.

Vial of Swirling Mist

The main Allakhazam site says that these guys drop a vial of swirling mist. It used to create the Moonlight Temper, used in the High Elf armor. Can anybody confirm this?

somehow I find that hard to believe as I killed it also at 12 and had normal exp gain from it.
It could have been an "between patches" bug though
