Trouble my first time
# Apr 19 2001 at 10:59 AM Rating: Decent
Made my safety bubble in LOIO as a level 30 druid and decided to head over here on the advice of many others. Got to the berg under cammo and levitate and found a nice place to prepare. Buffed up and put my face in my book to regain the buffing mana. Found myself a nice blue con golra and proceded to cast snare. This is where things went bad. My ensnare was resisted and I started haulling my little wood elf butt across the berg trying to get some distance to re-cast. These things run fast. Got interupted twice trying to get the snare off and thought I was doomed. Tried casting gate as a last ditch effort to save myself and managed to get it off. Ended up back in FV with about 2 bubbles of health left. Going to try the berg again with a 30 enchanter and see if things go better.

What Me and a SK were doing. Pull, Tash, Dot, Fear, Darkness, Nuke. With this Him and I and my pet were doing 2 to 3 per mana bar. little life loss. They run right off the berg. To my experience it took one Dot and no more than 3 Nukes before they died. They darkness he was doing and everything slowed them to the point where I could runn infront of them and cast a spell before they passed.

Excellent Solo Camp for mid 30's

Took my 35 Shaman out to this berg on the advice of a friend. Fantastic exp for 35, about 5 kills per blue bubble. The camp is totally safe with no wanderers and the spawn rate is plenty fast enough to keep me and my doggie as busy as medding allows.
great for hell

I'm a 30 SK and solo'd (without a pet) these things all the way through hell. Got through hell in 10 hours. I don't know if that's fast, but Troll SK's need the most xp of any other class (except iksar SK which they are equal) and i'm pretty happy with it. at level 31, I was able to level in 5 hours of play.

good things about this place: they don't group with each other. they're spaced out so you can always get a single pull. no wandering mobs so no worry med times. TD has a xp bonus like a dungeon. loot was pretty good. average of 3p per kill. i got 150p in the 10 hours i was in hell.
Where??

Loot

Easy solo for a lvl 35 mage - I was holding down 3 spawn without problems. Loot up to 4pp, plus "piece of ice". Anyone know what that is for?

Warning - do not swim too close to the edge of the berg looking for a way onto the ice. I did that and a golra jumped into the water and killed me. CR from the bottom of the TD is not funny.
Why bother?

The xp is ok on these, but they are in the middle of nowhere and your god help you if you die! Its a minimum 35 minutes wait for the boat to come around and take you back out there again. I thought the loot was rather poor. As for me, its off to FM or the Overthere. THATS where the xp is after level 30!

Why bother? I will tell you why. On my server, Karana, there are VERY few things that you can solo at 30-35 that arent constantly camped. I went from lvl 30-34 in 2 days here. Sure, their loots does sucks respectively, but loot isn't everthing. I say, if you have the problem of not being able to ever get those "safe" camps everyone always wants, head to this glacier!

I agree with you.

I took my level 35 mag alt there, and I made two bubble in hell very easily. It's VERY safe camp : spawns are static, you can have about 3 or 4 persons soloing on the glacier without any problem. (I think a 4-spawn camp is enough per person)

Loot sucks, yeah, but generally if you are a soloing class you have the Gate spell and quite a good skill level in Channeling. Just Gate if any problem show up, but I doubt there would be any.

How hard do they hit? Thinking about bringing my lvl 25 monk there for a bit.

Level 25 might be too low for Golras

25 Is going to be too low. At lvl 30, my twinked Rogue lost half health to a blue Golra.

Levels

Actually, the levels of these range from 25 to 29 from what I saw as a level 26 Barb warrior.

I was hunting them last night, and some where white at 29. Also they do not have 650-700 hp. These guys are rough. With my enchanter friend we do about 650 damage with our DoTs. These guys would still need at least 4 or 5 nukes to take em down. I would HIGHLY reccomend this place for a full group of lvl 29-32 as it would be easy exp, but be very wary if you are trying to solo. Root is broken easy, and they hit HARD!

Good luck

Speed
# Jul 16 2000 at 11:10 PM Rating: Good
They move very fast, about giant speed. Pain in the *** if you are a kiter who can't snare. Their hp is lower than other monsters in their level range however (appx 650-700). Xp is average, loot change is average.

# Dec 24 2001 at 9:43 PM Rating: Decent
I don't think they are as fast as giant speed. They're a tiny bit slower than jboot speed - I can barely outrun them with mine.
