I killed this named grizzly bear last night while hunting griffawns in Northern Karana. He was blue to my level 17 warrior and was "scowls, ready to attack". I was attacked next to the gypsy camp and his loot was a "superb bear hide".

I trounced this bear a long time ago while around level 16-18. 25 is a tad high a level estimate for this guy as he was green at the time.

Coming off of the Southern Bridge when I was attacked by a named bear. I thought that perhaps Druids could now trnaform into bears as well as wolves, since it seemed to have a player name instead of the standard bear label. It conned light blue to my 17th level shaman. I defeated the creature easily and looted a Superb Bear Pelt. I do not believe the pelt is part of any quest, and I cannot discern any use for it.

I was at the druid ring and this low green named bear started attacking another PC druid. The NPC druids took offense and kicked her butt. Then the silly bear went agro on me even though it conned light green. Briana Treewisperer ripped me a new opening.

A similiar thing happened to me. I was medding at the druid ring in NK. I am amiable to all the Druids and Treants and I am not KOS by unamed bears. However Bristletoe does not seem to play by the rules, and attacked me. This in turn set off my damage shield which was interpreted by the Druids and Treants as me attacking Bristletoe. Naturally they sprang to his defense. I could easily have gotten away from Bristletoe, but never stood a chance against the others. The moral of this story is: don't use a damage shield while medding at the Druid ring.

Hate to tell you this, but dosnt mater if you hurt the bear or not. All the critters have to do is agro on you and the druids are on you. Found this out the haard way when I cut through the Druid circle and didnt realize I had agroed 2 mits wolves. Can you say Bard on fly paper!
