Any dog seems to be his placeholder. He will spawn about every 20-40 minutes of regularly killing courtyard dogs. Has an AOE and killed my group a few times, was pretty tough as an 85 bard +J5 tank, 2 83 mages + A5 healer mercs.
Today he dropped this Dropped Scuffed Journeyman's Rucksack
I'm told he also drops the 32 slot but have not witnessed this myself

Just killed Gristle, he dropped chest remnant. Killed him a ton of times, first chest I have seen on him
