Snake Venom SacIm a 8th mage twinked fairly badly and get clarity all the time. I have no problem with these guys! even red ones are a sinch. Water pets are immune to poison remember that so send em out always when fighting asps. Cast a flame bolt or 2 and it's snake meat.

i agree that these horrible semi-evolved lizards have uber poison. they killed my lvl 10 bard with it. however, now iam lvl 13 i kill them no problems- i sing elemental rhythems for the big bonus to protection from poison, and even when the poison DOES get through my defences, it disapapates quicker then when i was level 10. why is this? does poison resistance also lessen the effectiveness as poison? or is it my imagination

I know that this is not about this but i am a warroir and I use giant fang im not positive if I should use it or a better wapon

This snake is probably my favorite newbie-lowbie target, as they often yield giant fangs or poison sacs valued at around 2 to 4 gold. As a magician using water elementals, you don't care if they're poison or not. Also if you don't want to sell those fangs, you can use one for melee as an upgrade from a standard dagger.

no i didnt know doing more than one poisonn did more effect.....i thought one pioson cured it all and im a 12 cleric!

im a 12 cleric that has trained 3lvls in west commonlands and i have seen a HG more than this<WTF>
These guys helped me level from 10 to 11. I have cure poison which is essential as they hit kinda hard and always poison.

useless story:
My group was taking thease guys out pretty well (had a cleric for poison) and then one came up and killed us all without breaking a sweat.

These things were a piece of cake at lvl 6. Of course that was with lvl 52 shaman buffs and many high lvl items

I was fighting these things in the east commons and instead of looting asp venom sacs, I was only getting snake venom sacs.
I guess I won't get to know the pleasure of mashing up asp venom sacs and poisoning others with it. *sighs clearly disappointed*

Haven't had a problem with one - 9th lvl Mage, water pet . . . sic 'em Spot! even on the yellows I only have to toss about 2 flame bolts per, and then have the pet sit while I go and fetch another. Meditate for a minute every other one. The Giant Snake fangs from these make GREAT weapons for my pet, and with the water pet you don't have to worry too much about the poison, just be sure to stand back a bit when you're casting.

I was a level 8 mage soloing these things, and even the red ones weren't that much trouble, but if they poison you, even if you have full life, you WILL die if you don't sit and at leadt bandage up.

Poison? There Poison isn't that bad. It only took down like 1 bubble for me and then it wore off. You are just unlucky.

I sang my HP regen and killed an asp not very hard went to tunnel to get Cure Posion.

These guys have some good poison, so you'd better have a cure on hand.

If you have the mana curing poison is fine, but if you are low on mana I suggest healing the poisoned player and letting the poison run its course (make sure he sits down). Asp poison, like Darkweed poison, takes three casts to cure (though each cast reduces the level of the poison).
I had never heard that each casting of cure poison reduced the effects of the poison. That's news to me. Anyone else heard this before?
