i have done this event multiple times and i would like to correct info on some of these below posts.
the correct order of adds that become active is- Goat, Snake, then the 3 golems.
All of these are TIMED, they are not at a certain %, first add seems to become active within ~1 1/2 min, the snake is at ~1 min after the goat, and the golems become active ~1 min after the snake. all of these adds have some sort of a mem blur, but the snake seems to do it more.
In the posts below, there is ambiguity with regard to the order in which the adds become active. One poster (selligonir) said it was snake, then goat, then golems. Another (Kareasint) said it was goat, then snake, then golems.
For what it's worth, our guild did this last night, and goat became active first.
In any case, the *kill* order should be golems, then goat, then snake - even if it isnt the exact reverse of the spawn order.
Our Positions/Assignments: - West side of BM's room; the wall where the steps are. - MA/SA/TA need to be on the opposite side of dps and healers (tanks on southern end, dps/casters on northern end on the west side wall where the steps) for the ranged fights. - Kite group(s) by pilars or in front of their assigned kited mob (bards on frenetic gp's, sk's on snake, rangers on goat). - Keep a shaman/druid near kiters to spot heal if needed. - Have a boxed clicky cleric to rez in the hall you enter from to battle-rez anyone just in case.
Engaging: - BM gets pulled and deaded. No fancy CH rot is needed. - Pull mobs in reverse order. - Ranged fight the goat works best. - WATCH YOUR AGGRO WHEN THE SNAKE GETS PULLED! She aggro-wipes constantly so at any given time a cleric or over-nuking wizzy can get aggro.
Other Notes: - Keep ALL kited mobs out of the area you are currently engaging a mob. - Keep kiters up at all costs. They make the difference between a win and a loss. - After all mobs are deaded, a chest will spawn where BM originally stood for some phat lewt!
I'm sure I'm missing something, so if I remember I'll be sure to add it. The sword, boots, and 2 glowing are the most common imo, as well as the chipped hoof (range item).
I saw no mention if the mob is able to be pulled to a safer location or not. If so will the other mobs come running when he gets down to the proper % anyway? Or will they spawn next to him?
attempted this event last night, and although we're much clearer on the strat, there is still one area that confuses us.
We know the goat casts the DD every 10 seconds, but it claims to be single target, yet from parsing logs last night, it hit:
6,12,10,5,7,7,7,5,1,1,1
so it seems something is up with this particular aspect of the script.
What I haven't been able to confirm is how many people were in melee range each time these went off, so it may be that the reasons behind the above figures are that that is how many people were near him.
I notice from the description on the Goat thread that the following is stated:
-- Can watch cast messages; the mobs with this ability cast it 4-10 times per use and target a single person with each cast.
But if that is the case, I'm guessing it must be cast on people within a certain range, or why would he go down to casting it just on MT towards the end of the fight?
Anyone else got experience of the goat single target hitting more than one person?
Just did today with sucess. Just under 60 people with Elemental gear. Big guy (Battlemaster Rhorious) is not to hard had no deaths vs him. Adds are much harder due to their proc's.
Set raid up in corner on west side of room. Pull Rhorious to corner and beat him down, kited adds when they became active. Once Rhorious was dead killed the golems, than the Goat, and finally the snake. Just used spam heals the entire time.
Encounter is alot of fun, not terribly difficult though we did have quite alot of people
Loot: 2x Glowing Runes Blood Red Mittens Chipped Iron Ixtshoe
We just did this one last night on MT. Super fun fight. The snake becomes active at 75%, the goat becomes active at about 65-70% and the golems become active at about 50-52%. We had one group of kiters with one bard. Bards cant really kite as well because if you damage them they will summon. I lost agro a couple times as i agroed close to the main raid group and I regained agro on both the Goat and the Snake by chain casting Slow from my TA stick. for about 5min i was kitting both.
The important part to this fight is to remember to kill the adds in reverse order. meaning, kill the golems first, then the goat, then the snake! We had a near wipe and I actually kited the snake for about 10 min while our raid rezzed, rebuffed and set up for the final kill.
It dropped 2 glowing, the mittens and the sword for us. Now that we have done this fight once I suspect the next time will go even smoother.
just need kiters for the adds that spawn mid fight, generally best to be bards because the adds run extremely fast though 1 bard in a group with other kiters casting selos should work okay. The fight itself isnt really challenging since he does fully slow, dealing with the adds always seems to be the more frustrating part for some reason
Killed with raid of 49 Time and GoD geared peeps. Dropped Chipped Iron Ixtshoe , Eye of the Labyrinth Dweller, and 2 glowing runes from a chest after all the mobs were killed.
