even if it says he is not there and he is not on track he is still up. I had 1.5 hours till i saw him again and he was up at this location P 448.4607, -277.9534, -22.6946, 0, 0, 0, 2, Decaying_Lord_Guluk_Derk you can copy paste this in the map to make him easier to find.
my war 80 made that with a mercenary healing... but you need to kill him on his spot or be very fast on kill because he gates and heals... i tried ot pull him to the zone only to make a easier way to run if fails... the ... gates and healed complete and lost focus.
Flurries, summons, Enrages, casts Plague. I kept gettin the "you resist the Plague spell" thing. Duo'd today with lvl 78, 9khp/10mana shaman and lvl 70, 10khp/1900 ac unbuffed tank. Was low on mana at the end of the fight, used stonewall, and furious. Otherwise very easy.
I'm sure he is.. I'm (70 paladin / 675 AA) DoN off slots and 1 hander / shield / GM armor & Fabled augs geared, nothing higher / nothing fancy(13k hp/ 2.4k ac).. Was on my to slaughter the tunnles and this pipsqueek jumped out and blind-sided me & hit me for around 1.5k.. I turned and Atk is on.. Dropped a few Slay's & catsed 1 nuke that did dbl dmg and told general his crap was rotting.. I did not have time to cast any heal as by the time I got ready to my Slay dropped him.. So he is soloable and you do not need to be raid geared..

Was sitting in theatre medding when Drek showed up in my target window, and a spell spam hitting me and my warder. Wasn't sure who he was, or how I targeted him, but thought I was getting attacked--took a few seconds to notice warder wasn't attacking anything though.
Wandered about and noted hp falling rapidly. Dummie me, didn't realise it was disease based--hey, the spell icon looks a vial of poison, not the hand with green mist of disease--so kept trying counteract poison to no avail. Popped HoT pots, a paragon, and a few heals while keeping an eye on warder health throwing the occasional heal his way and just waited it out.
I thought PB AOE was w/i line of sight? Not sure who pulled him where, but heads up, you CAN get hit with this even minding your own business in your secluded solo spot.

This particular PB AoE spell has a range of 300' which means anyone within 300' will be in hit range, no matter if u are invis, have aggro, or are not within sight like behind a wall or something.

Did this guy lasat night with 58 druid, 68 enchanter, 70 cleric, 65 warrior, and me 70 warrior with 12.5k hp group buffed. i poped infusions and took this guy down. he realy easy. one good group of 70's willl be over kill, just have a mezzer.
My 70warrior (14.6/3.2 unbuffed) just solo'd this guy... was clearing the building while the cleric and warrior needing the drop were making their way thru zone and I accidently agro'd him and a hand from his room... killed hand then turned to Lord and disc'd him down... had to use a HoT potion and veteran aa cheal but I killed him with 98% health left
if u have a FDer this can be easy as pie. I went all the way thru the zone by myself with my comrades at the zone in, since where this guy is you can pull him and run him right over the gate back at the entrance, he is not snareable, but wait til he is not casting and wait til his adds go away. itd probly be better if u cleared the green goblins first, but I personally did it without killing 1 single mob in this zone exccept this dude, might save ya alot of time
I camp Veksar alot and am constantly getting hit with this dot when folks come in and take this guy down. What cleric spell will remove this dot? Ive tried remove greater curse, abolish poison, and clerics dont seem to get a remove disease spell. I see 5 versions of one listed, remove disease I mean, in spell list but there is no info on where to get them or whether they even exist on a real server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And you'd have to recast the spell of your choice until the sum of the "Decrease Disease" counters for that spell surpasses the "Increase Disease" counters of the effect you want to remove (in this case 72).
I brought a full group this morning - necro, bard, warrior, rogue, cleric, bard. As of 3-15-2005, this information is accurate.
We were able to pull him to the first camp of goblins, but there were 6 see invis mobs we had to clear on the way (the necro was pulling the see invis back to zin). His dot was curable by the level 45 bard song "Aria of Asceticism" that is gotten from the LoY expansion. With defensive up he only hit me one time for over 1k, but others were saying he hit for up to 1600, he does flurry and enrage. Not a whole lot of hp's. Any decenty geared group can take him down.
Hope this helps those looking to do this fight.

Trio'd this guy,70necro shaman and warrior all of us not even elemental geared, was quite easy, warrior has great agro and once he engaged I counted to ten and burned, he has crap for hp and with shammy HoT's going the dot did nothing, this is hardly a raid encounter.. Warrior stayed just outside zone in while me and shaman cleared everything around and in his room, then shammy gated outside and ran warrior in with IU potions and we engaged when he got tehre, simple as that
Going north from the Slavemaster's room ( NW corner on the map, before the tunnels ), he is in the first room on the left hand side ( west side ), ground floor.
When a warrior who is ready for the fight zones into Veksar, he will receive a bright yellow message saying,
"Decaying Lord Galuk Drek has sensed your presence. He's waiting for you..."
If the warrior happens to zone out and zones back into Veksar again, before killing the Decaying Lord; he will receive a message saying something like,
"You have less than one hour left before you will see the Decaying Lord Galuk Drek again."
Just did the new patched (insta spawn on zone) version of Decaying Lord. Brough 4 groups of EP geared, and was WAY overkill now. I`d say 1 groupable probaly now with that level of gear. The AoE can be cured with 1 cast of Desinfecting Aura btw.
The AoE can be cured with 1 cast of Desinfecting Aura btw.
So he no longer uses the same AE? Last I checked, his AE racks up 72 disease counters. The best cure, Abolish Disease (removes 36 counters), would take two casts to get rid of the AE. Disinfecting Aura removes only 20 counters per cast of disease and poison...
Our trio was recruited to help a trio of folks who wanted to kill this turkey. We fought him three times and here are the resulting information tidbits.
1) Now spawns pretty much whenever a Warrior at that point of the quest zones in. This means hunting that section of the zone is very very hazardous at best since you have NO CONTROL over his appearing.
2) He hits for around 1800, doubles, enrages, casts pretty regularly for first 50% of his HP. (Necro maybe unsure if HTs)
3) He DoT is a pain in the rear. Nothing tried has removed it.
4) He seems to respond to the ammount of force used against him. By this I mean we engaged him 3 times and with each attempt we were more prepared and had more manning yet we never got as close to killing him as we did on the first attempt.
4% wipe cleric wasn't able to keep up or lagged. Nec, Cle, War, Bst, Nec, Dru. 1 Nec LDs first 25% of fight.
15% wipe, cleric oom, druid unable to keep up. Addition of Enchanter to replace LD Nec.
15% Gated and wiped us at 25% when we were unable to remain fully engaged. Addition of 2nd Enc and Rog.
I recommend based on all this information that he be best handled with one or two groups by clearing the wanderers outside his building and all mobs visible from outside his room.
THEN have the quest warrior enter the zone or log back in and move to that building.
With no adds, everyone on the spot and engaging the MOB at his spawn point, one cleric for the MA as well as backup healer(s) for the rest of the force he should be an easy kill.
Force him to a middle wall and have warrior slide to wall as well so rest of melee unit can be behind him. His enrage damage will slaughter pets near instantly and PCs a swing or two later.
This MOB is way over powered for this zone... the DoT actually reduces all attributes by 200 each - that is ALL attributes. So you can imagine how that would impact your being overweight, how much mana pool is available, how many hitpoints you have, how much stamina you have... Three spells into the fight most of the casters were OOM... A necro with around 3000 hitpoints casting lifeburn was able to chew up about 25% of this mobs hitpoints in our first fight which may have been the difference... so close to defeating this mob...
