You can /pat him to improve your Way of the Feline faction by +1, but he rapidly becomes tired of the pats if you do them too often.

They will also play dead if you ask them to ! You must have at least Kindly faction for this to work, though. Also, if you place yourself between both of them and say "play dead" while not targetting anything, they will both play dead at the same time :)
Rajyk and Palav will purr at you if you hail them - you must have amiable faction with Vah Shirs (try killing Loda Kai poachers in Shadeweaver's or doing some of the easy quests there, like Button Girl and Chialle's Friendship Ring.)
