did this today and got my page 3 off of a frenzied ghoul in lower guk so maybe they drop from both ?
pages seems to drop every time and its lore.
also get invis vs udnead and u can basically walk right in there room is easy to singel pull. only need to kill thoose bats clsoe to teh bedroom then u can walk in.

Mage L51 - and I solo'd the bloodthirsty for my epic page. This was a *****... but I solo'd. Use the map at ttp://www.eqmaps.com/m3/gukbottom5.jpg as it explains how to get from the Greater Ice Bones down to the lower level without jumping down.
I tried jumping down and got killed before pet got there. Mobs agro faster then pet makes it down. Also, use Tiny Companion in here... it's great.
I invised through Upper and zoned into waterfall. Summoned pet and fought to bedroom. Pathing is a little tricky and I found it easier to pull mobs into water, that way pet stays with you. Fight to connection point B, fight to connection point C and then to D and you're almost there. The hallway north of the ledge room (D) is safe to med and heal in. I found my self binding wound ALOT. Once you're full head to Frenzied room. By the time I made it there the guy camping the room had left. Bloodthirsty was there so I sent pet in to take all three out. It was close but made it. generally everything aggro's if you got close enough... so no barging into rooms!

With a good monkey as a puller, and somone with a bow, or a quick spell as tagger, it is a relatively save camp, once cleared. I have been whiped out several times by room spawn, but that is to be expected when you start here at 32, LOL. The experience is great, and well worth the time spent here, even if you don't get an FBSS. When Guk is under camped (Which very rarely happens) you can pull most of the dungeon to frienzy safely, as long as you have a good group. The key is the puller. If Frienzy isn't broken, and your puller screws up, you're all dead, unless everyone is in their mid 50's, or you have a lot of firepower. I spent nearly half of my leveLS in Frienzy between 32 and 46. I have only seen one FBSS drop, but the EXP is insane. I have noticed that everyone seems to think you need a really good cleric and some nuking available, but I have found that the best grp arrangent I have found seems to not need a cleric, or a wizard. In fact, a necro seems to work better. 2 pallys about 45 for their undead procs, a monk to pull, a DRU or SHA, for healing, annother tank WAR or SK to take hits, and a ROG, RAN, or NEC for their useful skills is a definate advantage. With 2 pallys in the grp, we rarely had problems with healing, even without a DRU or SHA to heal us. I have been rejected from Frienzy groups because I was too low, up to 43, but from what I have seen, 40 is plenty as long as there is a full group, and 2 pally and a SK have held it, ranging from 45 to 51, and I have seen a 50 shammy and a 51 necro each solo for an EXP grind. Over all, I love this camp. There are so many possabilites, and, with enough preparation and a good group, you can start in the mid to high 30's (with a healer) and get good EXP all the way into the 50's. Most exelent dungeon, and a fun camp.

yes the bloodthirsty ghoul drop the torn pages of magi´kot needed for epic ( only 1 of 3 pages)
but is the elemental binder the only item who is drop in epic mage.

I know for a fact that the Crown of Elemental Mastery can be dropped. Both the binder and crown can be dropped, and have identical stats, but because of the rarity, on my server (Fennin Ro), the binder can sell for as low as 5pp and the crown sells for about 50,000pp. Of course, don't expect to buy the crown as part of your epic. I've only seen them in the Bazaar two, maybe three times. But it can be dropped--I've seen it. Also, if you go to see Ronaldor's spoiler of the quest at www.magecompendium.com, there is a screen shot of the crown, showing it as magic and lore, but not no drop. So for all of you who say the crown is no drop, IT ISN'T! There... got it off my chest. :)

there are often glitches on drops. for example about a year ago dervishcutthroats where droping plains armor for a week till verant nerfed it. impurticularly i would think a lvl 55 ranger would know this ...

Yes the torn pages for the mage epic quest are no drop... sorry. Just about everything for the mage epic is no drop except for the crown of elemental mastery ( which is nice cuz it drops on the 7th isle, Plane of sky) and also the elemental binder is not a nodrop, and that one drops in the Hole.
For this page on the ghoul, look at the bright side, at least you have a shot for some decent loot while yer camping them out !

Paladin 43 at the time with Def above 200 my AC was at 820 and my Agi above 100. Still that bugger hit me for 111 serveral times. Bring a healer and a nuker.

I agree, I was a lvl 39 Paladin in the Frenzy group one night. This guy popped a few times; conned blue to me, putting him at about lvl 38, but still hit for 108. I guess Verant took the same liberty with this guy as they did with Giants, both of them hit over their lvls.

There are 3 spawn spots in Frenzy room and commonly a bloodthirsty ghoul will spawn there. He hits max for 116, and hits fast. He's really deadly but doesn't have mad hp's like the ghoul lord. Out of those 3 spots either a regular ghoul frog, the frenzied, or a bloodthirsty can spawn.
