solo'd this guy with my pally, has a ton of hp, about 400hp is 1%. took me a few minutes to do it though was easy. started to run at 9%, speed was as if walking, easily caught him up
Solo kill 70 BST 257aa , 9khps, 6.5kmana, 1300ac. Use Infusion of the Faithful. lvl 68 Pet (Spirit of Alludnu)summoned using an item with Minion of Darkness on it. Fight took approx. 5 minutes and I was down to 80% health. Resisted his spells everytime, never had to heal myself or my pet. Very easy kill. Good Luck.
[Note - after we did the wolf we did the gorilla and I used the same technique so this is much the same post.]
Well, I suggest that anyone who is thinking about this fight simply get a fairly high level bard and tell them to twist amplify and Veeshans. I made up a 5 song twist using /melody - amplify, Veeshans, rizlona, zek, katta, veeshans, rizlona, zek. I had a hotkey that started it there and one that ran: veeshana, rizlona, zek, amplify, veeshans, rizlona, zek, katta. The point is that I used the first one to start initially, and the second one to restart if amp was still up so that I could backup Veeshans. My goals were:
1. Always have amplified Veeshan's up. This adds a ton to resists. This is where the MR all came from.
2. Secondary to that, supply "overhaste" and amplify nukes. (Rizlona).
3. Then add the buffs and DS of Zek - and if someone is dispelled, make sure they have a good base haste.
4. Then add a song (katta) which I can't miss a note on (aa's) which has a decent chance of debuffing mob in many circumstances.
For non-bards, amplify adds to the effect of "singing" songs and lasts 30 seconds - so you want a twist with an amp every 5 songs. Katta debuffs the mob's dex when it procs (if it sticks) and increases weapon proc chances so it seemed like one that would be effective if it was down half the time since the debuffs last for a while.
This allowed me to use melody even if I missed notes and to keep amplified veeshans up constantly. AS I mentioned, I have 1.0 epic and AA's so that I don't miss notes on low level songs like Amplify.
The lowest MR in the party was 300 - that was from the low level BST who we were fighting for, and most people were 330-350. No one was feared, not even once. With that annoyance taken care of, this became a fairly easy fight with a couple of BST, a druid, and a chanter. The MT and the druid (and chanter for this fight) had MR from spell as well, and the rest depended on Veeshan and items.
None of us have the MR that someone from, say. the PVP servers needs. MR before the song buffs were in the 120 range. This helps a party get this resistance so that the mob then simply becomes a matter of DPS. And these days, the mob simply does not have that DPS.
We took a party of 55-65 characters for this mob at it was overkill, as long as your party can resist fear it's straight forward. Pally tanked it and dropped without much fuss, probably one of the easiest along with the Bear and Spider of the Totems. All the totems are alot easier with High MR.
Was just scouting around in EJ not far from the Field of Bone zone line. Must have come to close, he feared, and then summoned me. A nice combo I thought. Anyway some kind soul saw fit to take over aggro from me, (dont ask me why) and before it was done, he hit me for 3k hp before you could turn around. Got to the zl but it wasn't pretty. Careful when you wander in from FoBone.....
Explain why youd need a Enchanter for most of this stuff certainly not for mezzes? Cause Ive been reading and like Everyone has Enchanters and BL's can Slow... and Enchanters highest slow is 70% and Bl's highest 65% so...(I say this cause Enchanters can be hard to find at times)
Killed him last night. Had my 61 BST and a 65 Bard. The bard basically kited him in a circle around the ruined buiding while my warder (with sow) gnawed on it from behind. All I did was do beast nukes and cast scorpion venom on it. At no time during the fight was I worried about any one of us dying. Just make sure the bard keeps aggro and if you happen to get aggro then it's your turn to run around the building for a bit.
Took him down with 8, average level 52. 55 warrior, 56 shaman, 52 beastlord, me (55 necro), 54 ranger, 53 pally, 53 bard, and 39 cleric. Fought by the ruins, not too far from FoB zoneline. Cleric stayed on the hill out of AE range. With 105 MR resisted fear 4 out of 5 times.
Well i did this as part of my epic the other week and the 30K hps is about rigt. with the limited info on the scout mobs i had a force of 19 there and we absolutely wiped him out. No time at all.
has any other Bst found that he drops something else as well as the totem?? cant remember what it was but looked like arrow vanes
Very easy. Took him down in 2 groups with no real tank (4 pets and a ranger, with me (52 druid) as the main healer). He had about 30k hp, and took maybe 5 minutes to kill. Hit for 225 max and flurries.
