Classes: The Druid

Druids - a powerful outdoor class. With the triple ability to heal, inflict direct damage and cast damage over time, druids are a popular solo class, as well as popular in a group. They are also a travelling class, given both sow and teleportation abilities.

How should you play your druid to make the best use of his abilities? What are the best solo strategies? How should the druid be played within a group? What spells are the most and least useful? What skills should you develop?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Druid and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

opk forgive me if im wrong im kinda new to the game only lvl 26 but i think kiting is when you grab a whole bunch of monsters and do like a group damage over time then keep running then when it runs out do it again and so on...... but that might be aggro kiting.....hope it helps=)

Try Nagafen's lair to level up it's off lavastorm. A friend showed me to kite, practice in Tenebrous mountains on Sonic wolves. Nr the Katta Zoneline is good, but the guards will not help you if you are in trouble just zone out. To start select snare, sow, and an Area affect spell, the lightening one should do.
Sow yourself and then run around getting aggro by snaring sonic wolves in the area, up to four seems to be ok. They will chase you, run around in large circles round them at first making sure they are encompassed in the circle you are running. Snare lasts a long time so do not worry they will not catch you. Decrease the size of the circle so that the MOBS start moving together, this will happen as they try to chase you as you run in a circle, soon they will be close enough to all be hit by you AOE damage spell. Stop for a second let rip, and get moving. do this several times and you will have killed three or four mobs at one time. Takes practice and a big Mana pool, at 46th you should have enough though. I think this method in EQ lingo is called quad kiting.

Cobalt Scar is an Excellent place to level from 46-51 as a solo Druid. I used Root Rot Technique, (root your opponent, then Dot the hell outta them). You get Drake hides and wyvern hides, both sell for about 100pp in the bazaar (stromm).

Watch out for the Cobalt Drakes AoE breath attack, as it disspells virtue and Kei.
