Classes: The Enchanter

Enchanter - the game's traffic cop. When the enchanter yells stop, creatures cease what they are doing and just wait to die. A complex class, enchanters get a variety of spells as well as a pet, and can be played in a number of different ways.

What is the best way to develop and play an enchanter? What spells are most and least important? Can an enchanter be soloed, and if so how? What skills are the most important for an enchanter? How should an enchanter be played in a group?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Enchanter and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Suspended Minion- Lev 62 Enchanter AA- this AA suspends your pet, so you can call another.
1. How do I recall the pet i suspended?
2. What use is this AA?

many thanks for the advice,
Artemyst

Thanks to helpful advice, I was told to just hit the Hotkey again to recall the pet. Still trying to determine the use. 8-)

To get the pet back simply use the same button that suspended it.

Use? Well, if you are fighting a Rampaging mob and dont want your pet to die, or if you are fighting casters and you don't want your pet to charge off into never never land Then this AA is good to put it away for a while and bring it out when ready.

Type: Activated, Refresh Time: 0:00:1
You may train 1 rank at each of the following levels: 62, 64
Requirements: No previous ability requirements

This ability grants the summoner the ability to suspend and recall their existing pet at will, provided they remain in their current zone. The first rank suspends the pet at its current health only, while the second rank suspends the pet with all of its beneficial effects as well as its weapons and armor. You may cast a second pet while your first pet is Suspended. You may train the first rank upon reaching level 62 and the second rank upon reaching level 64.

Rank 1 your pet loses all its gear and buffs. Pretty useless
Rank 2 it KEEPS its gear and buffs. Worthwhile.

When you combine it with...
Quote:
Pet Affinity

This is a passive ability; it does not need to be activated.
You may train this ability at Level 65
Requirements: No previous ability requirements

This ability makes your summoned pets a valid target for beneficial group spells.

It rocks. Now When the Shaman and Cleric cast group Spells your pet gets the benifits also. Ranger Attack buffs, Pally HP buffs, group heals, Cleric Epic.

I love this ability. But there is one more you need to make FULL use of the above listed.
Quote:
Persistent Minion

This is a passive ability; it does not need to be activated.
You may train this ability at Level 67
Requirements: Suspended Minion at Level 2.

This ability upgrades your Suspended Minion ability to allow pets to remain suspended across zone lines. Also, if you camp with a suspended pet and have this ability, the pet will be available to you when you return.

Exactly as stated above. I get a sweet buffed pet and give him Mage summoned gear and put him away for the night. Pull him out the next day when I get to my hunting spot.

As long as you or he don't die you have a permapet.

This ability does NOT survie death. A suspended pet disappears and can not be recalled if you die.

I love having these 3 abilities. Makes my pet worth a darn... even if it IS still 33% of a mage pet.

There are some minor utility uses for Suspend Minion.

Raids or encounters where you are not supposed to have pets unless you have Pet Hold AA. Enchanter do not get Pet Hold AA so the next best thing is to Suspend Minion until it's okay to bring pets into play.

Speed Bump. Not a big use since enchanter pets can only take a couple hits but having a spare pet to call out to delay the mob chasing you to zone line may just give you enough time to make it out alive.

Reclaim Energy. A non-issue with the new out of combat regen system really, but still feasable to keep a Suspended pet around to use Reclaim Energy on when you need every last drop of mana.
