Classes: The Wizard

The Wizard - Master Nuker. The wizard's abilities are in direct damage spells and in individual and group teleportation.

What is the best way to develop and play a wizard? What strategies work best for soloing your wizard? How should a magician play in a group? What spells are the most and least effective? What skills should the wizard try to develop?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Wizard and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Hi fellow wizards. I have an idea that I would like to bounce off of the newer wizard players who need immediate cash and had not realized just how incredibly versatile we are when it comes to traveling. The pok stones may have hurt us, but take heed! Try this on for size if you need some money;

a. Bind yourself in the Mountains of Rathe by the giant's area.

b. Memorize the spells "pok gate," "Evac: Ro," "Ro Gate," and "Gate."

c. Memorize your best nuke, then lightning bolt (to pull), instill, and bonds of force. Those 4 spells have all you need to kill giants.

d. As you clear out an area of giants (or if the area you're currently in is already being farmed), cast one of your memmed gate spells to take you to a new giant-inhabited area.

e. When you are heavy with coin, cast pok gate and go sell.

f. Then cast gate, evac: ro, or ro gate to take you back to the giants.

My methodology on this is simple: Everytime I need some money, the Rathe mountains are chock full of level 70's hogging all the giants. I try to create my own by kiling placeholder's, but that takes awhile and is also unreliable (lvl 70's often grab the newly spawned giant). It's often easier to simply gate to an area not being currently farmed. So, while most classes can farm a zone, we can farm three at once! ...we also get good experience off the giants. Zirumkin will ding lvl 52 off of these things, maybe even higher. Starting at lvl 50, there is a south ro quest that you can do that will get you faction rewards in freeport as a bonus for killing sand giants.

Evac: Ro is not a gate spell, but it's the only wizard spell that will take you to south ro - tons of sand giant elites there. Ro gate of course, will take you to north ro near the smaller sand giant elite camp (I thought I should add that on busy nights, this is usually the only giant camp not being farmed by high-levels).

Hope this helps someone out!

That's helpful, thanks Zirumkin. I have recently started playing a 52 Wizard again and was wondering where I was going to get some plat.
