What has never been mentioned about this skill is the fine print. When you activate this skill, your chance to land a flying kick are actually greatly decreased. Your flying kicks will miss about 75% of the time with this skill activated. And even when you do land a flying kick, the damage you do with it will be significantly less then normal, if a 'thunderous kick' is not landed. Hence, this skill simply not worth it. It is totally worthless. You will do worse in most cases if you use this skill.

...And I don't know what source the Description listed above comes from, but that is total lies.

Please disregard this post as it is totally false. Chance to land flying kick, from a 65 monk in PoP era are not decreased.

Parses show Thunderkick increasing hit % with flying kicks from ~67% accuracy to ~72% accuracy, and the damage increase with more hits makes the dps of Flying Kick go up around +60%.

Using Thunderkick will add ~50-55 dps on average (It usually does 72 on avg). Not bad for a 10 minute cooldown.

Ashenhand adds triple this, ~150 dps, but with a 30 minute cooldown.

Thunderous Kick?

Alright, I was wondering what happened to "Soandso lands a thunderous kick! (xx)", is this not the discipline that allows this to happen? Did they change something? Or does this discipline just allow a slight chance of a crit kick? Any info appreciated.

Whereas the original Thunderkick discipline made the *next* kick after activation to be "thundrous", the new discipline allows *every* kick made within one minute (10 ticks) of activation - typically 10 kicks or so - to be more accurate, and to have increased damage.

Also, I have noticed that all kicks that land will have a minimum damage of 87 points, and it seems to go up slightly, as one's Monk level increases.

It is not a *crit*, so Combat Fury, and other critical hit AA's can further improve the damage.

All through level 52 my monk was getting about 71-73 damage as the consistent minimum. It's probably dependent on your ATK and damage bonuses and whatnot.

240-250 is my highest damage with this so far ;)
