At one time, Firiona Vie was the site of a picturesque city. An allegiance of Faydwer inhabitants, including the Emerald Warriors and Storm Guard, established themselves here, setting up vendor shops, a guild hall, and provided a safe haven for those adventuring in to the volatile lands of Kunark.

Since then, a war raged on between the forces of Firiona Vie and Lanys T`Vyl, and the alliance of Venril Sathir took over the once-flourishing outpost of Firiona. The elves of Firiona were evacuated out of their outpost and set up a makeshift establishment in the east, while the dragoons and cliff golems took over their former city.

Outside the city boundaries lies a stretch of land full of highly aggressive creatures.
Young adventurers travelling to the Lake of Ill Omen will know all-to-well the dangers presented by the Mistmoore drachnids which are found, along the path and stream reaching out from the city.

There are also the drolvargs, a superbreed of gnolls which roam the forest and occupy an abandonned tomb in the east. And there are many creatures native to Kunark, such as the Kromdul forest giants, goblins, frenzied leeches, and the occasional froglok.

Neither the Venril Sathir alliance, nor the Inhabitants of Firiona Vie will tolerate any perceived threat from the creatures of Kunark. City boundaries are well-patrolled, and any intruders posing a threat to their people or their outposts are swarmed, attacked, and dispatched with relative ease.

looking for these two from the "Free the Nurgan Slaves" quest.

saw a post on allah's about a gm enigmatically stating they're still in-game but were moved when outpost was taken over. no mention or hint of WHERE they were moved.

of course SOE would do this--they're two of 3 quest givers who return decent ALL/ALL gear.

/sigh

anyone seen this duo?

There is a camp of three forest giants near the zone to Swamp of no hope. These can be taken down by a few low 30's or soloed by high 30's , but id wait till 40 or so to solo. there is a good chance for nice loot here and the spawn rate is fast enough to make good exp even if you go solo. Ive made 1000pp in a short time here before , but sometimes they dont drop quite frequently so its hit or miss. this is the best place to hunt in the zone imho.
Noilgin Mindtune
# Aug 19 2003 at 4:23 PM Rating: Decent
I found an NPC on the dock of FV near the shore, his name is Noilgin Mindtune and he is holding a Lute. Our conversation went liek this:

You say, 'Hail, Noilgin Mindtune'
Noilgin Mindtune says 'Hello there, [your name], I hope you are enjoying your visit to the outpost. I know I sure am.'

I couldn't figure out any trigger words (and I tried plenty), and he was light blue at 46, so I tried to kill him which proved impossible, he was immune to all the songs I cast on him and melee damage didn't take his hps down. If anyone has info on this guy about possible quests, or whatever I would appreciate it.

Question on faction
# Apr 28 2003 at 11:31 AM Rating: Decent
I have various characters, mostly good races : Vah's, halflings, frogloks. I have a couple dark elves though - both are agnostic. 1 happens to be an enchanter...

the question (2 part) is.. is there any way for my agnostic dark elves to raise their factions with FV enough to go inside safely or will they always be KoS? Also, as for the enchanter's illusions..such as human, high elf, etc, would they give protection or still be KoS?
RE: Question on faction
# Apr 28 2003 at 12:46 PM Rating: Excellent
If you are agonostic, your illusions will proctect your Dark Elf.

I have NEVER seen an evil race walking though FV. However, there are quests you can do, turning in Drolvarg Canines comes to mind, that raise FV faction. If your DE went in under illusion and did that quest, it would help, but I suspect it would never be enough for them to get over you blue skin and nasty disposition ;-)

Hi, all.

I have discovered FV as a great place to lvl...not a lot of ppl and so on. I am hunting there now with a partner, but I just made a lvl and wanted to train (misunderstood specialisation and didn't put any points in the other specialisation choices), but I can't seem to find a shaman trainer in FV. Is this for real? I mean, they have a beastlord trainer and all...I thought I'd heard about a shaman trainer being there...can there really be a trainer there for pretty much every class (actually, I don't remember seeing one for monks either) and not for Shaman?
Does anyone know exactly where all the shaman (barb friendly) trainers are? I'm thinking Halas and Luclin and Plane of Knowledge...that it?

Thanks!

RE: Shaman Trainer?
# Mar 15 2003 at 9:43 PM Rating: Good
They are in one of the houses by the dock where the boat comes. If you are going from the bank to the boat, it's the first house on the left, where they sell the alchemy herbs and shaman spells.

They are barbarians.

Halas, the barb trainer is outside the Tribunal temple, in the west side of town.

Luclin, Shadowhaven, the shaman trainer is downstairs in the "tree room". You have to go to the big building near the port-in from the nexus and hop onto the port pad inside the building to get down there, and click the tree to get back out.

All of the above are barbarians.

Shar Vahl, I think he's downstairs in the king's castle.

That one's a cat.

Hope it helps, WWW.EQATLAS.COM is really the best place for more specific location info.

Thanks for the info...I rechecked the atlas map and site and don't see one...I was positive there was a shaman trainer, though...so I guess my mind was telling my eyes they were crazy :)
I did find Barbs on/at the docks, but none of them were shaman trainers...just merchants and an npc quest guy... I'll look again. Thanx.

Note, this is with no faction work in any of those places.

I play on the Innoruk server.

I've had my lvl 33 warrior soloing drovargs here for a few nights. I don't understand why this zone is so... unused. At any time there have been 13-15 pc's in zone but trying to put a group together or trying to get a partner to hunt with here has been impossible. I think the xp in this zone is great. If your on the Innoruk server and want to group in Firiona vie for the next few weeks, send a tell to Tolwe.

# Aug 25 2002 at 6:28 AM Rating: Default
Whoever the dude is saying that his Iksar strolls down FV lane is a LIAR. PERIOD. I have 2 Iksar characters and MAXED THEM IN FV FACTION.. IN EXAMPLE: YOUR FACTION WITH FIRIONA VIE COULD NOT POSSIBLY GET ANY BETTER. Guess what Nimrod, your race and deity can never be accepted there due to the history of FV. Iksars were never meant to be allowed to roam in FV and they never will. Go to some of the forums and check it for yourselves...or better yet, do As I did. pair up rour Iksars and hunt green goblins until you are crazy. I killed a minimum of 2200 and that's when I stopped counting. If any Iksar tells you he can walk through FV. MAKE HIM PROVE IT. It can't be done. Period, ever, end of story....unless EQ changes the make-up of the Kunark setting in the future.

"Oh, and by the way....my Enchanter can't use Iksar form there either....with maxed faction.

Your faction is too low. Go to Ill Omen and kill sarnacks and goblins. Eventually the warrior trainer will do business with you.

# May 21 2002 at 4:28 PM Rating: Decent
This is a good zone for level 40 players to solo Drolvargs to level up to 44. You can also do well with the Drachnids if you have a partner or two as they will train you in nothing flat. I have been trying to do the goblin raider and battlemaster quests for two weeks now and have killed several of each resulting in only 3 headbands and 1 bracer. I'm not sure that these quests are worth the time as you only get Elven mail armor. Overall I like the zone because it is not overcrowded, 19 PCs are all I've seen here at one time.

I am Lvl 30 DE SK. I make the trip from BB to FV on a regular basis. There have been several mishaps with the boat and guards, as I am VERY KOS in FV. As most of us Darkies are. As for anyone that is going to LoIO from FV the safest way is once the boat docks, just get wet and swim. It won't hurt a bit. Don't be afraid of the water. At lvl 30 I am maxed at 150 on swimming. It is almost as fast as walking or running. Anyway swim towards the zone, keeping close to the statue and docks, but not too close for us Dark races. Oh well, hit the zone line and keep the zone line on your left and run keeping as high as possible. I have made this trip as I said numerous times, with out being attacked by spiders or anything else. Just be careful if you are a Darkie around the guards stay clear. That is the best way I have found to get from FV to LoIO Good luck and thought I would give my 2cp for what it is worth.

One thing I have noticed is that FV is nearly always used as a resupply point for good races and nothing else. There is some awefully good hunting here for level 25-40. For some reason, people only rarely give hunting this zone a chance. Most go to FM or OT. It's a shame that more people do not form groups and hunt here. This zone has giants, drolvargs, drachnids, goblins; I have even seen a Froglok Knight once. Why is it that no one wants to hunt here?
RE: Unappreciated Zone
# Mar 24 2002 at 11:51 PM Rating: Decent
You know I have never figured this one out. It is like the Oasis and South Ro in the old world. You can zone in to Oasis with 40 people jumping the first poor gator that spawns while dodging Spec trains. Then you zone into South Ro fight the same mob with no competition. Shrug go figure.

My best guess is that people go where others tell em to go. Don't know much about FM, however in OT you can zone line hunt. You couldn't do that as effectively in FV. Of course you wouldn't have a Dragoon randomly killin a few folks every game day either. : )

Today as I was coming back from giant hunting again I noticed an erudite wizard near one of the buildings, by the name of Realla Segoan. I hailed her and she said that Al'Kabor was missing and some gnome had stolen his notes. Then I said I'd help her get the notes back so she gave me a six slot container to put them in. Has anyone seen these research notes around anywhere?

edit: found notes 2 and 3 in kaesora and note 4 in city of mist. I suspect note 1 is in dalnir and note 5 and 6 are in karnors or howling stones, will check these areas out once the evils are dealt with.

I too spent several times looking for the bandages, and found them in FV in the outpost.
I walked straight out of the Citadel and approached a cluster of buildings. The 1st building on my right in the cluster (aprox 3000, -3100 contained a merchant selling throwing weapons and the bandages I was seeking. Hope that helps.

Is there any way to get to the rogue trainer as a barbarian rogue? (other than shrink potions) You can target her through the window but not close enough to get the training window. Or if not, is there any other rogue trainers in kunark?
