Seeing thru invis...
# Oct 23 2003 at 5:33 PM Rating: Good
Just to make things a little more clear about who sees thru invis and who doesn't. After a month of fighting Elysians it works out like this:

Disturbed Elysian Remains always see thru invis.

Corrupted Elysian Elders always see thru invis.

Shak Dathors never see thru invis.

Dark Assassins, Netherbian Ravagers, Gargantuan Zelniaks and Fallen Soldiers rarely see thru invis, approx. 5% of the time at worst.

And, of course, when the uber folks pull Radir or Spirit of Radir through the "safe valley", all bets are off and you better hope the people pulling them know what they are doing.

And ... if you can, get in on the fight with Radir, it is a blast with people that know what they are doing... One of the only mobs I have fought with just a group that has about 5 billion HP, hehehe

He has some nice loot, and so does the other named with a Spirit ... (Radim Fireshower & ...ummm...cannot remember, LOL)

I recently changed servers and moved my 52 Druid to my new server and decided to try to get him a full set of this armor. Like most of the posts on this site, there is so much jibberish and little substance. Here is what I learned over the course of 3 days: (Yes, I got a full suit minus gloves in this time)
1. The safe corner is directly past the entrance to VT. It's a little L shaped valley where nothing roams. Bind High up on the wall near VT.
2. Load up WD,DrD,BoR, Immolate, and DoD off ES arms, levl 5 root, egress, SupHeal, and superior Camo.
3. To pull, just head up the right zone wall and stay high up on the wall. Scan the area below and keep invis up. When you see one, make sure nothing is in agro range. (Fallen's see thru invis as well)Start looking once you leave the safe valley and do not pull from the burn out houses.
4. Move down, Snare, and pull it back to the safe valley. Don't run immediately high up on wall, b/c there is a spot which makes them take off into the middle of the zone and you will get tons of add's screaming full bore at you.
5. I generally openned with Winged Death and use ES arms b/f I got them back to safe spot. Root them down on the floor and start to pile all your dot's on them. I use the level 5 root b/c it's semi fast and cost little mana. Just recasts dots as they wear off. BoR got resisted or fizzled about 1 in 4 times. Immolate and the other Magic based dot's were never resisted.
6. I parsed out the their HP's at roughly 18k for the white ones at 52-53 to 21k on the red ones. (55-57) Armor drops of them all regardless of con.
7. Took me roughly 7-9 minutes to kill one. Refresh snare at least once on them while root rotting them to be safe.
8. Have Egress up at all times. Only had to use it once when one pathed out into the zone and a bunch came at me, but I easily distanced them to get the 5 sec egress off.
9. Generally I was there alone with my 55BST lord main, but if other druids show up, invite them. You can kill 2 or 3 at once that way.
10. Took me roughly 4-3hr periods to get all the armor minus gloves. Got legs and crown in my first 3 kills. Sometimes it took 10 kills to get another drop. Probably killed 55-60 total.
11. In the course of killing them, I made on average of 800-1000pp a trip. Dreamstones sell for 220pp. I had 4 spells drop, 1 clr, 2 shm, and SoE.
12. When I started I had about 180 Wisdom with Kei. I buffed MR, FotGW, NSkin,Levitate, KEI, Chloro, and Spiritual Radiance. I could finish even a red off and still be about 40% mana. Modestly eqiuped and untwinked you can do this if you understand your class and how to play it.

Ely's Basics for druids to know
# Aug 28 2003 at 7:15 PM Rating: Default
Ive been huntin elysians for some time now.Avoid! the corrupted its a 58-59 druid summons and kicks **** basically. its the "A disturbed elysian remains" you want, they a drop the gear and b some 54 spells you can sell or scribe.. Pulling.. its easy pullin them if you know what yer doing. if you and yer partner (if u have 1) want to have fun you can snare pull from the slab with a occaonly 2 or 3 . or you can invis go to the north vallry wait for 1 (CAN BE PAINFUL WAIT) i sugest you pull from here because its safer and easily done, once you see a skele with no skeletal friends around (can get soidger adds easily) invis waiyt for a skele and snare it pull in back to camp make sure its comming or it will bring friends if its a no show after 5 or 6 minutes succor outta there (keep egress or lesser succor memed at all times. and Invis for pulling) they hit for 100-250 ao if u think you are a tanking druid run up to them.. they hit semi fast and if the stun you on a hill while you running around like a pansey and u dont have many hp's call a cleric asap your prolly ganna die form it.. (why bind near by can go get a fresh kei and all) dont start soling these till 53 AT LEAST! or take friends with you that have done it before i take me druid buddies out here all the time.. o well like it matters .. use snare to pull and if u have week mana use only 1 dot at a time if not so week mana use Winged death and ro. med to full mana before pulling why dont use so many dots and take a enc to tash for you longer root means more med time durning battle and so less down time. the armor can be rare ive seen the guant and leggins at least 10 times its completely random but i dare say the arms and tunic then the crown are by far the rarest . (arms arent really worth all the pain just go buy nashnar almost as good) spells are semi rare and gems and bone power are very comon just cash on them is more common then that and be ready to get lots of kei;s while yer there or you can be lazy have yer guild come out waste there time killing elysians for you. you can get semi good exp not consindering the time it takes to kil these things with 10-15K hp . your ganna get resisted on root and a couple dots sometimes so might as well be prepared eh? bring clickys to save mana . if your like me and dont have any clikies do it the hard way if you get summoning adds they ushally wont summon you unless you tried to hurt them so just run around Rc castle type thing and head for the zone use form of the howler (extra mana regen) and get PoTg or Pot9 for mana regen instead of virture. if you dont belive this ill tell you how i kill them step by step well when i killed them in the mid 50;s when i was gettin gear for myself and others now i just take lower buddies that barely just started these out there and waste the elysians (im a 60 Druid so easyly can use all 3 dots on them) First i go to North valley almost never do i pull from slab i pull it with snare if it resists run back to the valley and wait for it re snare till it sticks (Snare first because root is up predicable with these) then root. u can then use "Winged death" or "Breath of ro" keep it rooted and use 1 or 2 dots on it , till it dies if ur dots wear when its at 3%life just root it to deathj or nuke it down. med to full and go get anther elysian.

The other night I went to Umbral Plains with a buddy of mine (A 52 Patient Cleric). I am a Druid and was at 49 1/2 when we started. First off, I died zoning from Maiden's Eye to Umbral Plains...I started the journey there alone and was doing fine. None of the posts I've read said there are like 5 mobs that hit hard and despell right at the point when you enter the cave from Maiden's Eye to Umbral Plains. Luckily my guildmate was on and he got there by the skin of his teeth and rezzed me. In the process though he lost KEI. So we zoned into Umbral Plains and bound right at the zone point and headded back to POK for KEI. Once we got all buffed up we followed the directions in the posts below to travel to the safe valley to pull the Disturbed Elysian Remains. We bound there on the side of the wall. Well after he and I got it down (Both died wandering into the wrong areas outside the boundaries of the valley) we slowly and I mean slowly started to kill these things. It took us about 10 minutes per kill. Literally nothing dropped after like 20 kills. Whoever said the drop rate for armor is 1 out of 4 is crazy. These things do have about 20k in hitpoints and they hit super hard. We were there for what felt like 5 or 6 hours with no drops what so ever...well maybe an occasional spell or a gem but no gear. Then another guildee said he wanted to join in just for the experience. He already had a full set of the Elysian armor. He was a mid 50's Druid I think 53 but not too sure. Well once he came there they went down a lot quicker...I realized that contrary to the posts I've read about DDing these guys they don't resist that much and this made a huge difference...single pulls maybe about 5-7 minutes. If you solo them I guess I can understand that you shouldn't try DD spells because of Mana conservation but it didn't seem that bad. We must have killed like 10-15 in a row with nothing but gems and spells on them. We were getting ready to call it a night when my cleric friends friend came by. He uses a bot (65 Enchanter) and a tank that literally mowed these things down 3 and for at a time. It was one of the most spectacular displays of battle I have seen since I started playing the game. I'd say he killed about 50 of them. I got the Tunic, Armplates, Bracelets, Leggings and the mask. I was sooooo happy. Not only do these things have awesome stats but they look awesome too. As far as soloing them goes it is possible at 49 but if you have some friends that can come along and help that is the way to go...Good Luck!

Okay i think the Sword u mean is a Cruved Luclin Scimitar or something like that it Drops of RumbleCrush. a Ranger Friend of mine has it. but ive been hunting Elys for about 2 and a half months never seen 1 with a Sword. got the full set and hunt them for friends druids now-a-days takes around 17 minutes for a 54 Druid to solo 'em. and the rarest peice i'd say are the Arms

Thank you all on your hints and strategies. I used something from all of them and now have a complet set of Elysian armor! Thank you again! Now I am trying for the shoulder piece from the corrupted.

This past weekend, I was pulling Elysians for a group and I noticed a disturbed ELysian with a SWORD in his hands! I have killed about 5k Elysians by now and have never seen one before with a sword. One of my party members thought that it was a very rare 15 wis no drop druid scimitar. Anybody got any info on that?

Unfortunately, the mob ducked behind a hill loaded with Elysians and I lost him before I could get him.

Nice and easy, helped a guildy today get a few pieces after hitting lvl 50, must have killed 20 or so in the short space of 3 hours, 20 minutes of that we had to wait as another druid went and pulled something that killed her and stood right in the way our my pulling path, These things DON'T summon, and as long as you are ready to root or snare it you should come out without a scratch, in these kills, only got a few drops, but better than nothing with 1 Bracelet, 1 pair of boots and some leggings = a very happy lvl 50 Druid,

Be careful, and take your time to pull...

you can clean up such mobs if you don't want them to stand there for a long time. wait till the mob is at 100pct healt, cast snare or any other non damaging spell on it. run out of the valley with the mob chasing you. never mind if the snare landed. make sure you have enough distance cast gate. when gated to safepoint, succor to clean agro and gate back to bindpoint. One you get egress, you can skip the gatepart, but succor takes 10 secs and gate only 5. It's part of my double pull split technique and most works wells. When you get 2 when pulling, snare them both, get them on the wall, root one, run, egress gate back run to the rooted mob, if root has broken it is probably still standing there anyway unless you are a real slowzoner. Pull it with ensnare and do your normal trick in the valley. 1st message about snare wearing off is of the mob you dumped, time to refresh the snare on current mob :-)

Bad idea.

I cast each spell over 10 times. EVERY one was resisted. I got Malosi to land a couple of times, but that was it.

The shaman is back in his box for now.

Some ppl say don't even bother before 53 but i can tell you it's worthwhile. I've seen one dru 44 solo 1 with succes. It just takes time and patience. I won't recomment it at that lvl but it is possible. I will assume lvl 49 for these mobs as it is much safer.

These mobs have a pile of hitpoints (around 20k hp) so it will take time. You should be prepared for this, don't waste mana and be very cautious for the rest they hit hard up to 200pp and they doubleattack.

general info about the zone. Use a map to get there safely. When zoning in from ME bind yourself and invis and go high up the wall. I can't stress it enough, but go as high as possible. Despite being invis there are mobs (dark assasins) that see through invis. If you are high up the wall you are mostly out of their agro range. you will pass a building structure wich is the entry to vex tall, the massive stone guardians (look like earth elementals) don'
t see through invis. If you have lev on, you can pass half over the building. If you are unlucky and invis drops, run back till you have enough room for casting gate. You'll be at the zoneline again, zone to clear agro, and try again. (the mobs social assist so don't even bother to look around and try to land a root) After vex tall move a bit further on the wall till the mountain on the other side begins. This is a relative safe point to rebind yourself and saves you crossing ME (and the mobs guarding the UP zone exit)
If you think it's too dangerous or just don't want to risk a corpserun in ME take the route naked. That way you can just let your body rott and swallow loss of exp for a change. If succesfull and bound at the 'safespot' you can port back to a place with a bank and get your gear.

Equipment: Get your best wisgear, the mobs you'll be fighting are pure melee and you want to avoid contact at any cost no matter how high your ac is.
you can even drop weapon for something with more wis if you want to, cause these mobs fight even when root has been broken and they are at 0 pct. The only exception you should make is wearing Elder spiritist vambraces, since you can use them for a manafree dot. (dot is castable from lvl 46) Also very strongly recommended is that you do the earring of solsticequest. The components to do quest cost on karana about 5k it gives a great earring with flowing thought 1. It's no drop so it should be safe even for ppl on PVP servers.

Buffs: Get KEI and get PotG/C Bot9 or another manaregenbuff these mobs will be very hard on mana so every litlebit you can get is welcome. For the rest have sow or wolfform. All other buffs are not required.

Spell line. You'll only be casting conjurationbased dots . The rest is esp at lvl 49 worthless because of resists and will only waste mana. Have up evac and gate, root and ensnare. For beneficial spells only have up sow and chloro.

Hotbuttons:
put your spells under hotbuttons in a way you think logic yourself. just copy them from gembar to your hotbuttonbar With 1 exception, root. Root you'll make differently. Go to your social/macro buttons and create a new one with the following 2 lines.
/stand
/cast 8 (presumed that root is on gem no 8)

the remaining 2 hotbuttons can be used for general warnings towards other players. Mostly i have one with /ooc don't sit/med on bottom of valley if you are not hunting mob at the moment. (some ppl just sit (even afk)there while you fight mob and the elysians have the nasty habbit that if rooted they hit anyone in their meleerange)

Pulling: yes after all this babbeling it's time for the real work but i'll tell you a bit more about the surroundings 1st.
You'll have noticed by now that the valley is L-shaped. One side formed by zonewall and the other side by a hill. Over this hill is a house some ppl like to pull from but it's nasty pulling and adds occur quite frequent. Ad unless they have a party fighting them adds are mostly lethal. So don't make that mistake, i did it for you already.[:Yikes]
Instead move along the zonewall (high again) till the mountain on your leftside ends. The entrance/exit of the valley on this side quite frequently contains a mob that doesnt like you at all. (netherbarian ravager, shak dak'tor or a fallen soldier) being high on the wall is being out of agrorange. A tiny bit further and already visible is pull-1 the much lower hill is marking it. after it is pull-2 zone mostly you'll pull from here again this is marked by a hill and after it is pull3. due to the orientation of it, it leaves a place wich is technically behind pull 2 uncovered. Due to pathing issues and visibility of other mobs it's no safe to pull from there, but you can pull from the wall in pull-3 zone.
slect a target, and verify the target, that it cons red is no prob but verify f it is not a fallen solider or one of the corrupted elysian elders. You don't want to pull these mobs.
If snare sticks (it get resisted every now and then move back but not too fast. till about valley entrance then run back to the corner of the valley, and wait till mob is visual and root. If the snare was not successfull run allong the wall and look for a place with a long view, recast ensnare and hope it stick now. if not run along the wall till the corner, make sure you got a nice long sight of view and cast root mostly root sticks even if it is short. if not let the mob come a btiny bit closer and run to the wall of the hill, than diagonal over the valley bottom again till the wall near your bindspot that's another good point to recast ensnare/root. if not wait till mob is a bit closer cross the valleybottom again and run to the corned up the wall. Another castingpoint. Now if you are truly unlucky cause nothing landed yet. There is only one explanation you must have hit a lvl 57 with a valuable item, so don't give up and panic but keep on trying, to land that snare. A fellowdruid might help you since it is nobody's interest to have you die and have a mob going around that has probably added everyone to it's agrolist So if you want to be on good terms with fellowdruids don't run the mobs into them. But under most circumstances 1 or 2 resists on ensnaring mob is max. A more common problem is pulling 2. Ouch another mob assisted, run away from mob if possible away from valley, if you are at pullzone 3 run towards valley but don't enter it, evade mobs and run away to pull-3 and cast gate. The distance is big enough to cast it safely. now you are at the wall again, cast succor to clear agro. You end up near the zoneline and can gate back to attempt another pull.

After pulling, ok the mob has been pulled into the valley and rooted. Move along the wall till safe distance for recasting root. Cast your dots and sit/med. if rootbreaks press the hotbutton for reroot. The combo /stand /cast spell is faster than you can do it yourself. Always watch the message for rootbreak cause the zone is laggy and graphics sometimes move considerably later. Keep the mob dotted with drifting death and drones of doom. (they are combined good for about depleting 6-7pct of the life of the mob.) Always move to safe distance after rerooting a mob and keep the mob dotted all times, depending on wich manaregenbuffs you are using you might want to consider to add a few dots more but make sure that you are not exhausting your manasupply. Don't forget that rootbreaks will occur frequent that they cost about 4pct mana and all the time you are running manaregain is even lower. If you get to 20pct mana forget the dots except for drones of doom wich is manafree and comes at the cost of 2-3 ticks of lost medding. Occasionally refresh ensnare especially cause you are sitting and medding as much as possible, reactiontime might be too high to handle a rootbreaking mob that just lost ensnare and believe me those encounters can be quite painfull, so you want to refresh it before it falls off. While taking down a mob, you want to be on the wall of the zone or on the hill. Due to pathing issues these are the best places to root from and the mob will mostlikely be not too high on the wall so the ppl afk and medding will be safe from your mob. and you got the best sight on other mobs from other players.

I got hit, what now?
Nothing cause most likely your chloro is still up so you'll be fine soon anyway. (remember the druid mainskill is not to get hit in the 1st place) If chloro is down, too bad and let this be a lesson and carry on with the mob it's more important than your own health. Just don't get hit again. Why this neglect of own health? Simple i've seen more ppl die because they forgot to switch target and rooted/snared themselves than by direct consequences of getting hit by an elysian whilst kiting them. If you decide to duo with another druid heal eachother, but never target yourself.

One of my guildies started them at 49 this way (after simular instruction)and never died except for 2 occasions, once due to Linkdeath. (no matter how far mob is down LD is fatal) And the other time cause somebody pulled several mobs and ran in panic through the valley died there and the mobs scrambled on others. The major benefit, the armor they drop the spells you can obtain and at 49 the huge, let me repeat that, the HUGE experience. It can be as good as 6pct exp on a kill at 49 if you solo. Yes 49 can be a fly over.

One more recommended item besides es-vambs. A horse any horse will do just make sure you have the correct distance between mob and you for casting a root. The biggest advantage of having one is that you can cast drones of doom through you es-vambs whilst medding, this can make 3pct mana difference in one cast due to it's duration to cast and standing. The major disadvantage is that during casting, you can't interupt it by pressing d (dub) twice aand you can't dismount during cast by using a hotkey. best thing to do on a rootbreak during cast is move back and dismount as soon as casting is over make distance and reroot.

in short the golden rules:

1 don't pull form the house
2 always keep distance for recasting root before sit/med
3 refresh ensnare
4 don't let your mana go under 20pct. except for root/snare
5 don't train mobs into the valley on badpulls
6 verify target, no fallen soldiers, no corrupted elysians no other mobs.
7 being on the wall is safer.
8 don't target yourself
9 if you need to bail out while fighting a mob, /ooc and offer them to others with pct of health left on mob. This way there are no uncontrolled mobs in the valley causing havoc to others.
10 do me a favor don't offer armor to ppl who don't hunt themselves but teach them how to do it instead.

<edit 1>
Levels to look forward to are: 52 53 and 56. At 52 you get egress a self only evac wich takes 5 seconds to cast. At 53 you get winged death, this will make your life a whole lot easier as this dots bites away a whole lot more hitpoints. lvl 54 SoE great to move faster and floating. And lvl 56 for the new root spell wich is less resisted but main benefits are it's lower manacost and faster casting time.

At 56 my current spell line up is:
1 egress
2 gate
3 SoE
4 breath of ro (see note)
5 drifting death
6 winged deat
7 snare
8 root

note: I barely cast breath of ro due to a few reasons the fizlerate is enormous and the mobs are resisting it quite frequently as well. For ppl who do not have elder spiritist vambraces, i would recommend to have drones of doom instead. Mostly i use breath of ro towards the end of the life of the mob if i can spare the mana for it.

<edit 2>
Alternative pulling:
Pulling the alternative way.
Shak dak tors and ravagers do not see through invis most other mobs do though. especially in pull 2 zone you frequently see a mob near the wall and the elysians walking behind it out of casting range. If you invis yourself you can pass these mobs, get into agro-range of the elysian and as soon as it agroes on you run back to the wall the athing will give you quite an advantage in distance. On the wall start casting ensnare on the mob and reel him in to the usual spot. It's tricky but it works quite well. I've done it a couple of times myself and i still don't like it too much. (thanks to Morainis for mentioning this in his post the knowledge proved quite usefull. scroll a bit down and pick up the other good things from his post and for things i did not cover)

Elysians will never be safe, i've just offered one of the in my idea safest ways to handle them, even on lower levels. It's fun to bring down such a mob on your own and the reward is good. These mobs are lethal and if you are not carefull you'll die. If somebody in panic trains the elysian corner you and notice it too late you die, if somebody roots a mob in meleerange near you, act on it or you'll die. If you are fighting a mob and your connection goes down the drain, you'll die. But despite all the risks, they are fun and are worth the effort. All it takes is patience and being carefull.
One last advice check out other postings from other ppl who did consider elysians worthwhile they might have that last stupid tip for you that might make things even go smoother, cause despite all my good intentions and effort to make this a good guide, (and i hope it is for the most of you) i'm sure there are issues i must have missed.

<edit 3>
Sorry for adding more and more and ruining the structure but some more things come to mind.
If you start hunting them early in your druid career, or are grinding elysians for AA grab a second set. It's free it's at least decent and can come in very handy for corpseruns. Furthermore i noticed i've left out the druid epic-weapon but i'm sure anyone can fit that weapon in. The proc-click will greatly reduce killingtime and downtime.

And yet another edit. (june 15th 2003)
Since the patch that has introduced the 2-all char bankslots, there seem to be some alterations in the pathing. When pulling a mob from especially zone 2, it quite regularly appears that mobs get stuck while heading to the wall. Especially if you pull with snare, this seems to happen quite often if you pull them with a dot and just hurry, the mobs seem to get less easy stuck. If you prefer snared pulling however, it's now worthwhile to cast chloro or regrowth on yourself just before pulling so that damage will be repaired without the need of healing (and thus targeting) yourself. For the rest i've been trying to grouphunt elysians there were a few things i've noticed.

1 downtime is severly reduced and you'll enjoygroupbonus.
2 if you have 3 or more, forget casting drones of doom as you will caxst so many spells the mob get's overloaded. (too many spells on mob makes other ones not stick)
3 agree on who is casting breath of ro. Due to effects on fire resist it can't be stacked, like other conjuration based dots)
4 you have less worries about getting somebody elses' mob rooted at your medspot.
5 if you have a bad pull and get 1 or 2 elysain adds, you can split the mobs among yourselves and help finish the other once yours is done.

last statement of this edit: I can't truly verify if i've jsut been lucky and getting the higher lvled ones. (Most elysians are dark blue at 56) but to me it seems like since the patch i've mentioned above, the elysians seem to give a bit more exp than they used to at 56. (this could be a false impression but it looks this way to me atm and i woul like some ppl to comment on this if they've experienced the same)

Happy and safe elysian hunting to all.

new edit:

Been out of the game for about 2 months came back and started to do my usual business but noticed a few minor changes, the walkbyrate in wich i refer to zones 1 and 2 has improved. Pathing alos seems to have changed a bit, when pulling from zone 2 if possible stay a bit longer at the bottom of the wall and they come straight at you if you go up they take the 'old' route. Social assist rules seem also to have changed, assasins and fallen soldiers assist if a snared elysian passes them. But now you can partially influence the pathing by going up/down the wall so you have a bit of control about that. The drops also seem to have changed a bit, it still falls in groups nothing/bonepowder, gems, spells, bp/arms/tunic and gloves/bracers/legs normally it would all fall together now it seems like there is a common batch and uncommon batch. After hunting them now again for a week and a half again i can't really tell if there is a big difference in droprates. Basically i still think it's about 1/4 - 1/5 for armor but considering it all falls in batches a correct estimation is kind of hard to make.

Not sure if i will update info again as this guide started out with the idea to make ppl aquainted with elysians and that they shouldn't be afraid of hunting them. It has grown into a big guide and basically all i can add are minor changes. By the time serious changes will come i'm hopefully beyond the lvl of grinding elysians for aa and that rare drop of words. By that time hopefully somebody else will compile a nice faq about these mobs.

Once more, happy hunting

it is possible for a lvl 49 druid to solo these, but i wouldn't recomend it, if anything get into a small party of druids and just try to win the roll, i got the leggins and i am only lvl 49, was with a group of druids doing them only had one item drop in about 10 kills but we had 2spells drop Spell: Epitaph of Life and another, great stuff for a druid to get.

but like i said at anything lower then lvl 53 i wouldn't recomend going with out a partner or two

Nice guide, similar to the older one that I use. However, there are a few finer points to consider that may make your life (longer?).

1. Aggro is line of sight in this zone, so if they see you, they may aggro on you.

2. So you must be camo'd. If camo breaks while getting in position to pull, you are screwed. Pay the money, do the camp, get Improved Superior camo before trying this.

3. Camo works on all mobs....except Elysians!

4. There is no reason to throw a spell or lose camo in pulling Elysians. Just get within their LARGE aggro range then run like hell. Run past all those summoning mobs, who cares! They cant see ya. If you were careless and let them catch you and hit you, run the directly up the right wall, snare em, then recamo, then back to the camp. If something saw you, egress out, dont bring a train of summoners back to the camp.

5. Just in case ya really blew it and aggrod one of those nasty "Licorice Boys" and he tagged ya, (I hope you remembered NOT to have thornskin on), just snare him and egress out.

This is the most helpful guid i have ever read, my biggest beef with being a druid i have noticed that there is alot of info on what to hunt but not how or in such detail....good stuff i can tell this took some time and you deserve some props....good stuff
Don't even bother

These are rediculously hard! I kill 1 per hour!! Using percentages I estimated they have about 15,000 or so hp (612dmg nuke does 3-4% on average) Not only that I BARELY survive at lvl 51 with Warden symbol (unlimited roots) Which is antoher thing. THEY CAN'T STAY ROOTED FOR MORE THAN 12 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm tired of them..... I'm bringing in a warrior and cleric and mage friend next time so we will OWN them....

Point one... if you come here before level 53, it's going to take much too long to kill elysians solo. Hell, I'm level 54 and it takes me 15-20 minutes to kill one. Which brings me to point two... if you group with another druid that's there, you'll probably take them down much faster, as druid DoTs cast by different people will stack. Now if I could just figure out how to pull the damn things from the house so I don't have to wait 30 minutes for another to wander by itself to the wall area...

Soloed these guys as a 53 epic druid yesterday, got nothing but stones, money, and Spell: Disinfecting Aura.

Came abck today with my 54 epic dru buddy, killed Elysians for about 3 hours again. Got another Spell: Disinfecting Aura, a Spell: Spirit of Eagle, random stones, 1 gloves, and 1 armplates. He let me have the SoE since he already has it, and I won the roll on the armplates. I let him keep everything else though(Aside from SoE and armplates), aside from the autosplit money since I was feeling kind of greedy. =| He got tunic on his first kill every yesterday, though.

Tunic is the only piece i'm missing.
Not as bad as I thought...

I thought I would give these guys a go last night, and was pleased to find them much easier than I had expected.

At 58th with no Epic I am able to take them down in about 10 min each by pulling them back to the corner ravine area which is safe from wanderers.

I opened up with Ensnare, followed by Ro's Smoldering Disjunction. Then the dots: Winged Death, Breath of Ro, Immolate & (clicky) Drones of Doom. Root as required, and re-snare after a few mins. Job done.

With my AC at just over 900 they were missing a fair amount when they caught me and their damage was only for around 160 odd somewhere - nothing serious.

I do need a KEI though (that I always have up anyway) and a Pot9 is worth scrounging up if possible...all it takes is a few fizzles/root resists and you'll be glad of the extra mana regen.

I dropped 8 in the time I was there and looted Sleeves, Gloves, Bracer, Dust & a couple of non-Druid Spells along with 8pp+ per kill. XP was about 1/5 blue @ 90%/10% XP/AA.

If any Druids out there have been considering getting themselves some Elysian armour then I would recommend going for it. With PoP and LoY out Umbral is pretty much empty (on Inny at least) the only people in the zone were 4 other Druids: and we were all quite chatty and helping eachother out where needed with roots and unrequired armour drops.

Some more stats...
# Apr 26 2003 at 10:58 AM Rating: Decent
Just thought I'd drop a line and post some more stats so you can figure out drop rates.

Test server, me and 65 druid hunting (You really should get a partner, the higher the better. Look for a high level druid/necro/enchanter friend who doesn't mind chilling and helping out. Let em keep the cash, or maybe they have a druid twink for double ups, never know...)

We were pulling these things literally up to 5 at a time (I'm level 52). Killed 55 and then broke it up for the night.

We looted:

3 Bracelets
1 Leggings
2 Armplates
2 Boots
Spell: Foliage Shield
Spell: Spirit of Eagle (Yesss!)

Not a terrible night, could have certainly been better.

Got up the next morning, logged teh chanter in (level 64) and parked my druid in the safe valley for snares/heals (didn't need). Charm killed 5, count em 5, and receieved:

1 Crown
1 Leggings (which was cool, cause the 65 druid from night before took the other ones, so I got these)
1 Boots

3 out of 5 is a little better. I wanted to keep on, felt lucky, but gf launched a flurry of attacks on me and started rampaging, so I had to log. Charm killing with chanter worked out very well, probably faster than 65 and 52 druid, at least the same speed... I'd hate doing this by myself at 52.. I like to solo, but come on, these things have 20k hps, how boring. It's not hard, it's just boring. Get a partner; time will fly and you will both be better off for it.

Tennis Anyone
Test Server
Dru Fiddy Two
Please add this spell to drop list

Spell: Epitaph of Life
also drops Sunstone (worth 150+pp to vendors) and Iolite and Umbralite (or is it Umbracite...), and various others.
