This is one version of five "Refugee Rescue" tasks. You can keep requesting them until you've gotten all five. It begins with Parthar who is located in the tunnel of the Old Commonlands (center of the large clearing).

    You say, 'Hail, Parthar'

Parthar says 'Greetings _____. It's nice to see a new face around here. We've been holed up in this cave for so long I sometimes think I've forgotten what the sky looks like. That dark army out there has been a problem for a while now. Fortunately they haven't found those of us who made it here. The [others] weren't so lucky.'

    You say, 'Others?'

Parthar says 'We all got some sort of advance warning about the approaching army, and most of us hightailed it to this cavern to hide. There were a few that were a bit too slow in clearing out though. The army caught them and has been holding them in their camps. I'd like to [rescue] them but those soldiers would make short work of me. Perhaps you would be willing to help out?'

    You say, 'I'll rescue them'

Parthar says 'Perfect! From what the last stragglers to arrive here said, the prisoners are being kept in pairs. I've managed to find out who was paired with who, but not where they are being held. You'll need to find them and then see what you can do to get them out.'

You have been assigned the task 'Refugee Rescue'.

NOTE: You're assigned a random version of the five "Refugee Rescue" tasks. If you're already currently assigned the version he attempts to give you, he'll say to you something like "I have nothing for someone of your abilities." If you want to do all five tasks at once, you can just keep repeating the word "rescue" until you have all of them.

Many of the residents of the Commonlands managed to escape ahead of the dark elf armies. However, Dolman and Peron Threadspinner were caught and are being held prisoner. Parthar has been looking for anyone willing to assist in rescuing them.

Find Dolman and Peron Threadspinner 0/1 (Old Commonlands)

    Location aproximately +320, +2880.

Kill 6 members of the Obliteration army 0/6 (Old Commonlands)

Clear the camp and allow them to escape 0/1 (Old Commonlands)

If you aren't close to the NPCs when the last obliteration mob is cleared from the camp, you won't get the escape update. They will flee automatically when the last obliteration mob is dead.

Return to Parthar 0/1 (Old Commonlands)

I was only able to get four of the five Refugee Rescue quests, with this one not showing up (Parthar said he had nothing for someone of my abilities when I tried to request this quest).

I completed the four quests I could get, returned to try to get this quest, and got the same response.

I have not completed Acts of Sabotage yet, but have done all the other quests in the Blood of Medicine series and have completed the Blood of Light and the Blood of Oblivion.

Is there something I am not seeing that is preventing me from getting Refugee Rescue (Dolman)? I am requesting the quests with a level 84 character, so level should not be an issue and all other quests were obtainable with one or the other necklace, so faction should not be the problem.

    Problem solved.

The quest giver seems to randomly give one of the five quests each time you say the trigger phrase. If you already have the quest randomly chosen, he gives you the 'I have nothing for someone of your abilities' line. By the time you have gotten four quests, you can get that line quite frequently, since the quest giver will try to give you a quest you already have most of the time.

You can get all five quests by repeatedly saying 'rescue' until they all show up.

Did this 4 times the other night with 83 Iksar Warrior, Had friends there to help, 85 rng and 83 dru. Completed it 4 times and no update... grrrrr...

Quest log was showing each task properly completed prior to next portion, just couldnt get them to flee after clearing the camp.

Last rescue to do, so I did the other 4 right.

Anyone else have this one bugged for them?

    Is it petition worthy?

Very buggy still. Did this yesterday, killed about 6 mobs with friend, no update. Friend disbanded, I moloed it twice more with no update, killing about 6 mobs. All spawned around the tent areas, with one across from the hostages. During repop none spawned "on" a tent. Once, got a named during the repop.

Each time, I positioned in front of/inside hostage tent to ensure that I was close enough for update per other quest guidance.

Frustrated, filed petition to have this fixed.

This morning, figured I'd try it again. Circled camp, counted 7 mobs. Popped merc, stood in middle of camp by fire and aggrod' camp. 2 mins later, nothing. Circled (closely) hostage tent, found 7th mob had not engaged. Killed it in middle of camp- no update. Walked around outside of hostage tent to approx behind hostages - it updated.

Best I can figure the hostages don't want to see the beatdown of the hostage-takers.

    Bugged ???

I had the same problem with our hostages being reluctant to flee. I believe the problem came when I got to the last mob I killed at camp. It was a troll weaponsmith, in the small tent alone, when I engaged it and tried to drag it out, it poofed. Camped, still the hostages wouldn't budge. Whole camp re-popped, when I got to last mob again, he spawned atop his tent, I climbed up there and killed him where he stood, and quest updated, hostages fled.
So I would advise killing him in his tent and making sure he isn't standing on top of it, and if he is, killing him there and not trying to pull for a clear fight

As a note, you must actually kill all the mobs from the camp near the people you are trying to rescue, this is usually 6-8 mobs on a 20min spawn cycle. I tried to see if i could snare pull the mobs out of camp, zone to lose agro and come back to an empty camp for the update. However that doesn't seem to have worked.
